kinda sucks that the go-to sonic creepypasta is like 'what if sonic was EVIL and had RED EYES and KILLED PEOPLE' and not something that has to do with how tails is able to catch up to sonic even when it should be impossible and he keeps coming back from the dead, likely with no memory of it, but for sonic it doesn't result in a game over or anything so in-universe he's just experiencing that happen like, over and over again, with no way to explain to tails what's happening without looking like he's hallucinating it from stress or something

the "they must be making a sequel to marble hornets out here!" plotline is so fucking funny like aksjskdhdjh you're literally right but not in your universe

i ended up watching re/member, WOW it's so good. like, 10/10 good. amazing practical effects and cinematography, it's super fun, and the story is honestly really beautiful and touching. if you have netflix i highly recommend you go check it out

i love how with the marble hornets comic series being, well, a comic series, the medium lets them do and show stuff and use techniques and narrative devices that would've been impossible with the webseries' found footage format. not dissing found footage (i love found footage) it's just that it is a very specific and limiting framing device that comes with many pros and cons. i think marble hornets made great use of it, but there are just certain things you can't really do without breaking the immersion of the format (and actually filming stuff esp on a low budget has its own limitations on top of that).

omg i just wrote a bunch of stuff and deleted it and tumblr doesn't have an undo button so it's gone now cool. whatever i was just rambling anyway. my point is the comics are awesome and take great advantage of the comic book medium to shed light on the world of marble hornets that couldn't have been done from the lens of jay's camcorder, while still staying true to its roots and incorporating elements that were brought to the table by the original medium. im really impressed with what troy and jackie are doing here and i feel like they're making something really special. if you haven't checked the comics out for yourself id 100% recommend dropping the $10-$15 on one, it's more than worth it imo

i read nina the killer for the first time a few days ago and honestly it is a perfect sequel to the original jeff the killer story. poorly written by someone who is definitely in either late elementary school or middle school, with absurd plot decisions and bizarre story structure, but so earnest and confident in its presentation that i couldn't help but love it. nina is an 11-year-old scene girl who can dodge bullets with ease. jeff the killer shows up at her house to light her on fire and she's like yeah awesome let's go. technically uses she/he pronouns because the grammar is a mess. and honestly in the hands of a more skilled writer, the concept of a fangirl idolizing a serial killer who ends up desensitized to the concept of murder and committing those same atrocities could be made into an interesting commentary on the impact of the true crime genre and the harm that turning tragedy into a commodified spectacle meant for personal enjoyment can cause
