Casually dropping I'm thinking of doing a Husk costume and going as him for carnival in front of my bf to see if he tags along as Angel (he has been talking about lowkey wanting to go as him for like a week) ☝️

Who should I cosplay?
I’m trying to pick a cosplay to make for next year because I’m going to go to some cons, but I’m having a hard time pick between a few characters.
The options are:
Coco from witch hat atelier
Tumblr media
I LOVE witch hat atelier, and I think that my face is a pretty similar shape to coco’s. Her outfit doesn’t seem too hard to make and her hair is pretty simple, so she seems like a good character for a beginner cosplayer like me with mild sewing experience.
Richeh from witch hat atelier
Tumblr media
Same points as coco except with longer hair, which I have experience with ( I’ve cosplayed miku). I just also like her character, and think that there probably won’t be many cosplayers of her.
Marcille from dungeon meshi
Tumblr media
Another simpler outfit, I’ve made dresses like hers before, and there’s probably patterns online. I’m almost the same height and eye color as her. But I’m inexperienced with props. And I don’t know if she’s too basic for what I want to do or not, because I kind of want to style a really stylized wig. But she would be fun.
Rin or Len
Tumblr media
I’ve already done miku, and I love both of them. Their outfits are both really cool and I think styling lens wig would be fun.
Kasane Teto
Tumblr media
I WANT TO STYLE HER WIGG. I really like her hair. Downside, I hate red.
Robin from star rail
Tumblr media
I’d definitely have to buy her cosplay and modify it. I love her design, she’s one of my favorites star rail characters. But she might be a bit too complicated.
Misha from star rail
Tumblr media
Misha was my favorite character when I got him, I love his design. Only problem is contacts, which I don’t do. But I think he’d be fun to cosplay.
ganyu from genshin impact
Tumblr media
I’ve been a ganyu main since like, 2021. I’ve wanted to cosplay her but never had the chance. I think her wig would be fun to style.

BJD pricing help?
The long version: Several weeks ago, a wonderful woman I knew through a cloth-doll maker's club passed away. A mutual friend of ours asked if she could give my contact information to my late friend's daughter, as there were several BJD in the collection, and the daughter had no idea of what to do with them or how to move them along. Time passes, and I suspect that perhaps the daughter decides she doesn't need help, at which point she tags me and I agree to do what I can.
For the most part, I'm able to easily identify, price and post the dolls and several have already sold, which is great, because the money is going to help repair my late friend's home.
HOWEVER, there is a Kaye Wiggs Sage in amongst all of these dolls and... I'm clueless. I can find how much other Kaye Wiggs dolls go for, but this one is a challenge-- she has no box and no COA, but is absolutely a legit doll (Kaye Wiggs has confirmed that she likely did the face-up herself). If she had a box, it may not have been kept with all of the other doll stuff that the daughter found as she was going through everything, and she's not likely to have recognized it as something to keep.
These dolls never fit my aesthetic, so I paid zero attention when they were released. As a limited run. In 2008. And I'm kinda-afraid to ask somewhere where I'm more visible (Facebook/Insta) because, well... someone may try to mislead/undercut in their favor in a space where I am obviously trying to move this doll along.
TL;DR: I need help pricing a Kaye Wiggs Sage produced in 2008 with a face-up by the artist, but does not have her own box or COA.
@dollsonmain? not sure it's your aesthetic either, but you might have clues or know someone who could?

IT'S NOT JUST THE STARS CAUSING A STIR IN BRAZIL
Rio Bra-vo!
The girls are glad to show they're girls
[Photo caption: The gender touch: Freddie and Bita]
[Photo caption: Popping in and out: Maria]
From DAVID WIGG in Rio
BRITAIN'S music stars came rock and rolling down to Rio — and discovered the city where local beauties' curves and visiting males' eyes all pop out.
The current fashion style favours a lacy bra clearly on show. And if this seems surprising in Brazil where most girls are educated in convents and many are still chaperoned, well, blame it on Rio.
Girls want to be girls there just like anywhere else. So when the heart-throbs of rock are putting on a week-long festival, no Latin lovely wants to be mistaken for one of the city's notoriously hard-to-spot transvestites. And this despite the fact that the stars are quite likely to be in drag themselves.
Like Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen, fronting the festival which includes Rod Stewart, George Benson, AC/DC and Whitesnake. The outrageous Freddie had quickly to take off his wig and false boobs while singing his hit I Want To Break Free. It’s become a sort of political national anthem in Brazil and the 350,000 crowd felt deeply insulted.
For Queen's party, Freddie was more conventional. He could hardly have competed with guests like models Bita Amodei from Italy and Brazilian Maria Monika. Meanwhile Rod Stewart dressed Navy-style reflecting his success with Sailing.
Will other women go nuts over the Brazil look? Express Fashion Editor Jackie Modlinger points out that the undies-world look surfaced in 1983. But alas, as a fashion trend it was inappropriately, flat.

do you by chance know any good HRs that are not set in like the standard 18th or 19th century or medieval times (and not 1920s either, there are quite a few m/m romances in that period for example, it’s the where were YOU during world war one of it all). i’m talking more like renaissance period and later, but it being TRUE historical romance. or maybe authors are looking at 17th century mens fashion and are like „well i’m not touching that”. i think i remember seeing one on goodreads but it might have been a fever dream…
Hmm, weeeeelll, the vast majority of the romances I've read have been set in the Georgian, Regency, and Victorian eras. You can tell that there's an aesthetic element that plays into it, FOR SURE--Elizabeth Hoyt will write all about a hero's powdered wigs and flash little high heeled shoes, but Elizabeth Hoyt is a bold soul whose lack of fucks to give is unmatched by most.
There are of course American-set westerns, which are not inherently bad--like I mentioned today, Lorraine Heath has some well-regarded westerns (I've yet to read them). Beverly Jenkins writes westerns, as well as books set around or shortly after the Civil War, Indigo being among the. These are 19th century, of course, but they're a nice change of pace.
Jeannie Lin writes romances set in Tang Dynasty China, which is like, roughly 610s-900s AD.
I haven't read this book, though it's on my shelf--Susan Wiggs writes Tudor-era romances that kick off with a book called At the King's Command which apparently stars a Romanov princess??? Again, have not read, but will read and do own lol.
Nicola Davidson also writes Tudor-era books. I haven't read them, but she has a reputation for being high heat, often featuring queer characters, throuples, etc. I've heard good things.
Speaking as someone who studied the Italian Renaissance primarily in college, I'd be interested in more Renaissance books, but... I get it. It's hard to sell a guy who's walking around in hose, with his pageboy hair and a fabulous hat with a feather in it. I'd read that book, but a lot of people wouldn't. Plus, there's the whole "everyone died at 30" thing. While technology in the 19th century onward was far from what we have now, I think it's less alien, and the life expectancy (for the upper classes) was starting to go up.

Had to go look this one up. It’s SeiRei Yugiri, not Yugari (duckduckgo couldn’t figure it out, but google did), and I don’t think I’ve seen that sculpt before.
That’s a very different look.

when I was a wee lass I had these like soft silicon gemstones, like an inch across maybe, and they were shiny and faceted and squishy and you bet your buttocks I chewed the hell out of them, gnawed them to bits cause they were so brightly colored and chewable and I was a tactile kid who chewed on fucking everything, and I just now remembered them and I want them back
