As much as I think Pokemon Showdown’s an awesome website for fucking around with setups and shit, it would REALLY benefit from a “customs anything goes” mode for casual players for each Gen available.

I use the website to run fanfiction teams against my boyfriend to see how they’d work in battles. So I’ve made a fake Elite Four team, a few fake Champions, and teams that match my memories.

Granted it doesn’t rly matter because I CAN select custom game when I play against him but for the life of me building the team I have is difficult when I’m struggling to pick moves and every one is illegal because the Pokemon doesn’t exist in the generation (idc)

Really, all this would be solved if they dropped all the Unova Pokemon into the game tomorrow for no explicable reason - they just did it and Showdown would have to add them all back and make them legal and stuff, then I probably won’t have an issue anymore.

But rly I just need a mode where it’ll look at my hypothetical team with Simisage on it with Pokemon that weren’t in Gen 5 and go “whatever man, it’s your boat”
