📚 What’s a popular book that you totally meant to read, but still haven’t?? . . . Happy Wednesday, Bookworms! Do you ever buy a book that you REALLY wanted to read, then never end up reading it?? (PLEASE tell me that it’s not just me that does this. 🙈) I do this all the time, and it really makes me crazy. I will be SO excited for a book, and then once I get it in my hands, I completely loose interest. (Most of the time, sometimes I just forget about it. 😅) Pictured above are just a few books that I totally meant to read, but haven’t yet, for some reason or another. 🙈 In all fairness though, I did start *City of Brass*, but then had to set it aside when my mom go hurt. How many books did you read in August? Did you have a good reading month? I had a good reading month! Well, mostly 😂 firstly I finished my reading challenge and I’m now sitting on 54/52 books for 2020. Last year I only managed 26 or so. I’m really happy with this. Book boxes and bookstagram have really helped keeping me motivated and finding new authors to enjoy and obsess over. I was very tempted to get another body butter in the restock yesterday but held back until I’ve finished off this one. These butters are lovely and smooth and smell amazing. They’re just glorious and the perfect self care treat. Happy #NationalBookLoversDay and #SignedBookSundays! Today I decided to feature a book I haven't talked about in a while, #OnTheComeUp by Angie Thomas. Q: What book would you want to tell people about for National Book Lovers Day and why? I know its hard to pick just one. My dear friend @readingwithlori gifted me this signed book last year and I'm so happy my friend knew how I would love and cherish this book. If you've never read an #AngieThomas book, you really should. Her writing is SO GOOD. Bri wants to be a rapper and she's working hard to make her dreams come trues. The theme of this story is finding out who you are and being true to yourself. It's about the struggles minorities face over white people. It's about falling down 9 time and getting up 10. 📚 What’s your current favorite genre to read?? . . . Happy Monday, Bookworms! Are you ready for this brand new week? I hope that you are. 🥰 My week is already off to a weird start. The power in our neighborhood went out yesterday evening and *just* come back on a little while ago. 🙄 I am very glad to have power and air conditioning again, but I am not looking forward to having to clean out the fridge and go grocery shopping AGAIN. 😆 Here’s hoping for a good week for us all, and LOTS of coffee for those of us who are running on very little sleep. 📚 Qotd: Hardcovers or Paperbacks?? . . . Happy Sunday, fellow Bookworms. Did you have a good weekend? Is anyone else NOT ready for the weekend to end. (I so am not.) 🥰 . . . Which do you prefer: Hardcovers or Paperbacks? I was looking at all the stacks and stacks (and stacks) of books that I have all over my house that I don’t have room for on my shelves, and I noticed that I’m buying a lot more paperbacks lately, which is interesting. I love hardcovers, mostly because they look pretty sitting on my shelves, but there’s just something special about a floppy paperback. They are so much easier to hold, and I love that they are a little less expensive as well. 🥰 Now if we could just talk publishers into releasing paperback editions of new books at the same time as hardcovers... Q: How are you doing with your reading goal for the year? (Goodreads or other.) . . . Happy Tuesday, Bookworms! Are you doing a reading challenge this year? (Goodreads or other.) If so, how are you doing with it? I set my yearly goal to 150, and I’m currently about 35 books behind... so.... I’m not doing very well. 😅 (In all fairness, things have been crazy this year.) At this rate I would have to read 4-5 books a week in order to catch up, but I think if I buckle down and actually, you know, start reading, I may still be able to read my goal. What’s a book, (or book series), that you love that has multiple authors? . . . It’s Tuesday! Is your week off to a good start? I hope that it is. 🥰 . . . Are there any books, or book series, that you love that were written by multipe authors? The first one that came to mine for me was the *Illuminae Files* by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. 🤓 This series was so good, and the audiobooks were FANTASTIC. (Seriously, they are some of my favorites. If you have the opportunity to listen, I highly recommend them.) 🤓 I also love the *Starbound* series, which Amie also co-wrote with Meagan Spooner. Do you have a favorite fictional trope?? What about a least favorite troupe?? . . . . . Happy Thursday! Do you have any favorite fictional tropes? Or a least favorite one?? I have a few! Some of my favorites are: 📚 Enemies-to-Lovers 📚 Fake Dating 📚 Second Chances 📚 Past Romances . . . If I had to pick a troupe that I didn’t like, it would probably be Love Triangle, UNLESS it is really, really well written. (Sometimes it is!) I have to help out my mom for a while today, but I’m hoping to get home early so I can finish up my re-read of *The Battle of the Labyrinth*! I am enjoying reading this series again so much... What are some of your most favorite book covers? I absolutely love the covers for *Chain of Gold, *Lady Midnight, and *Clockwork Princess, all by Cassandra Clare. 📚 What are some books that you had a tough time reading?? . . . Happy Tuesday, Fellow Bookworms! Is your week off to a good start? I hope it is! . . . Are there any books that you had a really tough time reading? One of the books that I had a hard time reading was *Sadie* by Courtney Summers. I didn’t have a tough time because it was a bad book or anything, I just had a hard time with the storyline. I wanted nothing more than to jump in the book and protect Sadie from all that she went through. Being a mom, it’s hard for me to read books like this. It doesn’t take much to make me paranoid. 🙈 But the book itself was fantastic, and Courtney Summers is awesome. If you haven’t checked out *Sadie*, I highly recommend it. 🤓 What about you guys?
