How To Fix File is too Large for Destination File System, All Methods
Yesterday I was transferring some huge files from my PC Hard drive to USB everything was going very smooth but suddenly a system Notification/ Message Pop-Up, with a not so sweet message at-all "File is too Large for Destination File System". So I was not able to copy the big file due to this error, but not for too long. I just did a small thing and then I was able to copy the same file. So in this article, I am going to share all the methods to solve this error on USB/external hard drive.
Let me clear it out first, that "File is too Large for Destination File System" is not an error, it is just a limitation of FAT 32 Partition and our system warn us about it. Nothing else. To solve this issue, You just need to convert your usb drive from FAT32 to NTFS. Why you are getting Fix File is too Large for Destination File System Error? You get this error due to the Maximum File size limitation of FAT 32 Partition which is sadly 4GB Maximum. I am using 3 Softwares, Use one of them if you want to skip the File Coping/Backup step. Download EaseUS Partition Master/ AOMEI Partition Assistant / MiniTool Partition Wizard, install it. Connect the USB or hard drive to your computer, launch the software. Right-click the disk you want to convert from FAT32 to NTFS and select Convert to NTFS. The pop-up dialog box will show the source and destination file system, click OK to continue. Now click on Apply (in EaseUS/ AOMI) and Start on pop up in Mini Tool.
