Part of me wants to jump in your arms and kiss you and smell you lose myself in everything about you. And the other part of me hates you. Because you've ruined love for me. I'm never going to love anyone the way I loved you. And I hate you for that.

From Wall Street Journal and #1 Amazon bestselling author Winter Renshaw comes a sizzling romance about two people who fall in love, go their separate ways, and then try to reconnect against all odds.
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride—and that’s the way I like it.
I may be anti-marriage, but I’m still pro-romance. Case in point? That sexy curmudgeon I met last year during my cousin’s tropical bachelorette getaway.
That grump was Dorian, the groom’s old college roommate, there for the bachelor party. I couldn’t get enough of his messy brown hair and gorgeous turquoise eyes. We connected on a deep level—emotionally and physically.
But the timing wasn’t right. So we made a pact to reconnect in two years. Now I’m starting a new “job.” It’ll take a lot of work and pays really well—I’m talking seven figures here. All I have to do is pretend to be my boss’s new fiancée…and spend eight weeks with his family on their private island. How hard could it be?
Turns out, a lot harder than I thought. Because the man I’m pretending to love? He’s Dorian’s brother, and now all bets are off…
My Review
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a romance, with a twist. A great take of the right person at the wrong time trope. This love story captured my attention and I was all in from beginning to end. Filled full of angst, instant chemistry, steamy scenes, as well as an interesting family dynamic.
Briar agrees to be her new boss Burke’s fake fiancé for eight weeks while visiting his family’s private island. If they can pull this off, she will walk away $1 million richer and her boss’s father gets to spend his last days thinking his son is happily in love again.
But there’s one big problem…Dorian, the man Briar met at a bachelorette and bachelor tropical getaway a year ago, the man she spent three gloriously, delicious nights with, and who asked her to wait for him for two years, is the brother of her boss! Oh yeah, she is in deep heartbreak mode over it and since she signed an NDA, she can’t tell him that their relationship is fake.
The way this story is told was what had me captivated. It switches back and forth from a year ago to present day from both Briar, and Dorians perspectives. With every trip to the past their chemistry grows, as you are forced to watch them in the present, pretending to not know each other, while really both of their hearts were breaking. The pining was epic! I have always loved dual POV since you can see what is going on in their mind. But this was all so emotional. Will they be able to weather this situation and come out on the other side? You will need to read to find out!
I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Love and Kerosene by Winter Renshaw 🎧
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Love and Kerosene by Winter Renshaw 🎧
What I love about Winter Renshaw is that I never know what I’m going to get; each book is wholly unique, and the journey is always unpredictable. That’s definitely the case with this one as well, which certainly didn’t progress in the way I expected. The premise was engaging, the story moved quickly, and the audio made it perfect for bingeing. So I ended up devouring this in no time at all, even…

REVIEW: Love and kerosene by Winter Renshaw (ARC)
Click the image to preorder on Amazon Summary For me, family is a curse. My father and brother made my life hell. My mother’s untimely death still keeps me up at night. Now that my brother, Donovan, has been killed in an accident, I can forget the past. The last remnant is the childhood home I’ve inherited—and which I intend to burn to the ground. The only obstacle? Anneliese Nielsen,…

GIMME THE DIRT
12, 13, 16, 21
you guys REALLY want me to be a hater <3333
12. Any books that disappointed you?
already answered, but i can do more
SECRETS OF A SIN - REMI ROSE. i am so mad at this book. the premise was that a girl finds her classmate dead and then hooks up with the dead girls brother as they try to figure out who did it. doesnt that sound so fucking good. it had a FANTASTIC scene of them fucking in a library. and then the rest of the book was bad.
the dirty truth - winter renshaw (i read stone cold earlier in the year and liked it! but this book was. bad.)
13. What were your least favorite books of the year?
stalked by the boogie man - siggy shade. i am pulling out every weird fucking book i have read this year. this book. you think it's going to be like. oooooo monster under the bed fucks her. NO. it's a 400+ page witch story where all of the women in the coven thing HATE the main character for no reason and the "boogie man" isn't actually like, a boogie man, he's some weird creature with beef with the main character from a past life that she doesn't remember and it doesn't make any sense. anyway he DOES fuck her WITH A FOUR HEADED COCK BTW. what's the point of giving him a four headed cock if he's going to eat her out the entire time. there's ONE sex scene where he fucks her with his weird four headed cock. one head on each side of her pussy holding her open, one on her clit, and then one penetrating her. don't you DARE ask me how this makes sense.
16. What is the most over-hyped book you read this year?
that peter pan sexy reverse harem retelling - nikki st james. i have read all of the ones that are out. theyre so bad. the sex scenes arent even fun. theres better reverse harems out there. i can recommend them. please stop putting these books on the goodreads dashboard.
21. Did you participate in or watch any booklr, booktube, or book twitter drama?
god no. i hate social media. this year i deleted instagram, twitter, and tiktok all off my phone. die die die die. rachel have u read my entire rant from a couple days ago. here's a link.
send me books asks

7. if you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?
although i tend to use poetry and draw inspiration from that, this year i focused a lot more on music artists like the national and monsters and men; that can be seen most prevalently in my edits, methinks. the Goal for next year is to Finally become happy with the speirton king and lionheart edit and post it, so. yeah
ao3 wrapped writers questions :))

I wanted him in the bluntest way. I wanted his lips, his hands, his arms. I wanted him the way the ocean wants the shore, constantly reaching and running back. I wanted him the way rain wants to fall, the way the sun wants to shine, the way words want to be read. I wanted him to infinity, to the millionth degree. No amount of rain could douse the fire I had in me for him.

Biden has said he intends to run for re-election but has not confirmed plans to do so. No strong Democratic challenger to him has declared their candidacy. As Biden speaks to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) winter conference on Friday, his Republican rivals are emerging from bitter leadership fights at the Republican National Committee and the House of Representatives ahead of what some party leaders expect to be a crowded and bruising presidential primary season. The Democrats’ relatively strong showing at the 2022 midterm elections have them enthusiastic about the president’s and the party’s prospects as the 2024 election season ramps up. Article content “It’s night and day,” boasted Stuart Applebaum, a Democratic committee member and union leader from New York. “What Biden was able to accomplish exceeded expectations.” Reuters spoke with around two dozen Democrats attending the event. They were overwhelmingly in favor of Biden running again. Taking office in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Biden’s term has been marked by the economic scars of the global health crisis, including soaring inflation. A Reuters/Ipsos poll on Jan. 19 showed Biden’s public approval rating at 40%, close to the lowest level of his presidency amid criticism from Republicans over classified documents found in his home. Biden this week toured U.S. cities to promote projects funded by the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill passed in 2021. Advertisement 4 This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. Article content At the DNC meeting, members are expected this weekend to overwhelmingly approve a reshaped 2024 primary calendar selected by Biden. That calendar would oust Iowa from its pole position in presidential nominating contests and put South Carolina first on Feb.
3, 2024, replacing a state that nearly killed Biden’s presidential aspirations in 2020 with one whose heavily Black Democratic voters overwhelmingly backed his campaign. The expected approval shows Biden’s grip on the party and would make it even harder for a rival Democrat to mount a campaign to unseat Biden. Some progressive activists questioned the primary calendar move. “Joe Biden has repeatedly said he plans to seek renomination,” RootsAction political director Sam Rosenthal said. “In case there’s a Democratic challenger, it would be simply unethical for the DNC to allow Biden to dictate key rules of the contest, the order of the primaries, before the race begins.” Advertisement 5 This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. Article content The activists handed out “Don’t Run Joe” literature and set up a mobile billboard bearing the words “DON’T MANIPULATE THE PRIMARIES” that circled the hotel housing the conference throughout Thursday and Friday. An effort by a group of progressive Democrats to get untraceable “dark money” donations out of the party’s primary races at the Philadelphia meeting was defeated. Representative Debbie Dingell of Michigan, a competitive state Biden won in 2020, said that while there were “no divisive issues” in the party, Democrats needed to do a better job of talking to voters. “We are not messaging,” she said. “I think that’s why you see the president hitting the road and boasting about what he’s accomplished.” Biden aides have been laying the groundwork for a campaign launch in the coming weeks. They have largely dismissed suggestions that Democrats need fresh leadership or polls like the Reuters/Ipsos one showing Biden on 40% approval, a figure that matches where Trump was at this stage in his presidency. Trump has already launched his 2024 campaign but is expected to face a primary challenge, including from his former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley.
