AAAAH i love your bakugo x biker!reader series every time you post a new story I get so excited their relationship is so cute and your writing is so compelling I just have to read them over and over again
Awwww anon!!! Thank you so much!!! That is high praise, and I appreciate you sharing your love for them so much~ Methinks I need to start a little timeline for that sweet n' spicy reader... and perhaps give you a lil sneak peak into an idea I've had recently where biker!reader is a bit cheeky... all in good fun, right?
To catch up on this series and my other MHA fics, check it out here!
Bakugou x biker!reader WIP incoming...
Tumblr media
Picturing UA holding a Work Study Expo -a new initiative by Midoriya to help connect would-be heroes with Pros they may not know yet; namely for the hero courses, but also with added attention for the support students!
Enter our darling biker!reader. Reader is sandwiched by Kirishima and Bakugou to come attend-- the boys both RSVP with a unanimous 'yes' seeing a UA reunion tour in the making, with Bakugou particularly excited to take you there to see his former school since you'd received your secondary education elsewhere.
You're happy for it too; gives you just a little more insight into the place that had a large part in building him up to the hero status he is today...
...until the three of you are checking out the figures across the reception space-- and you freeze when you spot someone. Kirishima clocks it as a starstruck response and despite your harshly whispered word of denial, he makes off in golden retriever fashion to go get them.
Bakugou would be... a bit intrigued to see this reaction from you. Not that you weren't allowed your idols (even though he feels no one holds a candle to Allmight by default), but he was curious as to why you would look so... antsy. It wasn't quite a 'Deku' level of floundering - but that purposeful squaring up of your shoulders and avoidance of his eye contact altogether gave him cocky cause to tease you further.
"What, scared to meet your heroes? Figured you'd be plenty used to that by now."
"Shush,heisnotmyhero."
"Oi--" Bakugou cocks his head to the side, effectively forcing you to look at him over your predicted line of sight. "What's your issue then, angel eyes?"
With an unavoidable storytime bubbling in your gut, you run the risk to see if you can sum everything up for him by the time Kirishima comes back-- or at the very least, figure out the nearest exit to gracefully disappear to for the next fifteen minutes or so....
You pull him aside lightly by the wrist, closer to one of the tables of handouts for the event.
"Okay... You have to remember one thing, promise?"
"Yeah?" Bakugou chimes back, entertained.
"This happened before I met you."
His interest doubles, but smile falls, "...yeah?"
"I have not thought about it one day since.."
"... yeah?"
"Remember how I told you," you tread lightly as some students pass you by with some excited waves, "-when I transferred here, I had to work with that proviso license from the Commissions office 'cuz of the whole 'double-triple-check' applicants' liabilities clauses? And mine took forever and a day, because of all those traffic violations that were completely legal where I was last stationed?"
"Uh-huh."
"And that meant I took nothing but graveyard shifts for the first, like, six months... so I basically broke ground solo before the agency could pick up my contract?"
"Uh-huh...?"
Reader sets the scene for a particular alleyway they'd been stationed at, something of a traffic stop role and in prime position for hopping onto the freeway if needed. Helmeted with your visor up, you could keep on coms while getting a little bit of fresh air to keep you awake.
But it's also the sort where villains make their playground meetups and cause some trouble for unsuspecting folks. It's easy work- though trouble could crop up at any time....
Enter the hero you caught sight of across the room: the man you'd watched string up a trio of baddies so expertly, you knew they were never gonna get anywhere near you, so why flinch?
The hero who'd snidely commented how he coulda appreciated the help, but who you assured with a saucy 'you had it under control, hon'.
The hero who you proved yourself to by jumping into action together in a bit of an impromptu high-speed chase.
The hero who ultimately caught your name, but chose to call you 'Speedy' after your impressive performance. Who said you were no rookie like he thought.
The hero who chipped the lip of your helmet in thanks and patted the rear of your bike in a casual move before setting off into the night again, sufficiently making a mark on your fluttering heart as your new favorite hero of Japan.... who you cannot believe you with and who is now approaching over Bakugou's shoulder:
"... AIZAWA?!?"
"Eraserhead," you corrected gracefully.
A flurry of emotions crossed Bakugou's largely incredulous face, though he settled on merely repeating,
"You flirted... with Aizawa?!"
Forcing Bakugou to lower his volume was a lost cause, but you could control yours, "I had-not-met-you-yet-- remember that!"
And was it considered flirting? You could barely get a read on the guy
"Nah, I'm still stuck on my fucking teacher hitting on you... and you called him what?? You know how fuckin' old that guy is?!!"
"Thirty-nine." you fire back immediately.
"--HEH?"
And you can't stop-- though you have the gall to look a little sheepish.
"Scorpio. Ambidextrous. Has a white cat named after the title character of Samurai Jack."
"...."
"Went on Present Mic's show a few months back.. not that I had a notification or anything for when it aired-"
Bakugou stands in a rare moment of silence. Disbelief, rage, shock, and maybe something heated lay behind his eyes, but you honestly can't tell which is going to win out.
".. you're fucking with me."
"I am not."
"
"Absolutely not! Kats, he is never going to single me out of an entire room here, and think back to one patrol night out of thousands, that's ridicul--"
"Bakugou... 'Speedy'."
Alongside Kirishima's proud presence who had been anxiously awaiting this interaction stood Aizawa: fitted with his off-hours eyepatch but who clearly did -in fact- remember you.
As long as you avoid Bakugou's absolute stare of death, you can properly school your reaction to be one of perfect charm; as always when meeting other Pro-Heroes. It's not like you still hold any feelings whatsoever with this man... but you'd truly rather have this conversation anywhere else than beside your darling Katsuki, who's about to blow up if you so much as smile at his former homeroom teacher.
"Should I be scared that you remember me sans helmet, or flattered?" you offer pleasantly.
Aizawa gives a little bow to you before straightening up with a smooth reply, "I never forget a face."
If looks could kill, Shota Aizawa should be collapsing on the spot under Bakugou's eye. And even if you think it's a harmless comment, you know for a fact you'll be paying for it later.
--Scene--
To be continued, m'loves?
TLDR; Bakugou:

Dragon's Clause
I ended up re-writing the first chapter (after finishing like 6.5 of them while poking at other wips), and oh man I REALLY love how much better it flows now. I could salvage a little of the original chapter, but not much honestly.
It's just so much less clunky, and it's 2,000 words of introductory world building. I needed it to be NOT CLUNKY XD
I wanted people to get past the first chapter, not just set it down and wander off.
Now to smooth out the other 5 chapters based off the adjustments to the first one and then I can get back to working on some Honeysuckle: Red and Passing Fascination.
That chapter was just bothering me though, so it's felt good to effectively break through that dam.

The Agreement and Caretaker
WIP Ask Game
Oh - fun ones! Both of these are in my Halcyon Legacy!
Tumblr media
The Agreement refers to a treaty between Corellan's Eternal Alliance and the Galactic Republic, signed sometime after Iokath.
Its rather canon-divergent, as the Alliance still has the Eternal Fleet, and - as they already have a treaty with the Empire - the Republic has little leverage.
So the piece itself shows a number of clauses in the agreement. (Actual treaties are MASSIVE. These are excepts.) And there are informative footnotes offered by Lana Beniko and her team.
Its basically a world-building instrument, but it also informs on the values of Corellan's Alliance, as well as his complicated relationship with the Republic that he defended for so long.
Tumblr media
Caretaker takes the form of a letter from Nowan Ko Detizu of the Jedi Enclave on Uphrades. It is addressed to the Council on Tython, about nine years before the class stories begin.
It effectively advises that Ulannium Kaarz (who eventually becomes Bar'senthor) is ready to begin his time as a Padawan (he's about 14). Its mostly about Ulannium, but Corellan - aged 12 - is mentioned as well.
I rarely talk about Nowan Ko Detizu. Which is a shame. She's the closest thing Corellan knew to a mother.
Thanks for the asks @plotbunny-bundle !

What is Fair Use, and When Does Purpose Matter?
Hey, folks.
I’m sorry for being so aggressive yesterday.
I’ll admit that when I wake up to asks in my inbox telling me to die or go eat shit because of how much of a big mean hypocrite I am, I get really tired of dealing with people in this fandom who have no intention to strike up a good-faith conversation. I want to remind everyone that my askbox is for good-faith questions or support for Jill only. Things meant to start a fight or slander either of us won’t be published, and the senders will be blocked.
I had someone ask, much more nicely, this morning to explain why I think using the avatar is the right thing to do, so I’m going to explain that under the cut. I’m also going to make a second post today to address why I’m still active and what my goals are here.
Fair Use is a United States Copyright law that “promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances.” Sometimes, original and copyrighted works can be used when they meet specific criteria, even when it would be otherwise illegal to use such work. You’ve probably heard of Fair Use on YouTube, because it’s often a point of contention between creators who reproduce works and copyright holders who issue claims and strikes against them.
In order for something to be protected under Fair Use, it needs to be scrutinized under four separate categories that courts determine constitute Fair Use in reproduced works:
Purpose and character of the use
Nature of the copyrighted work
Amount and substantiality of the portion used
Effect of the use upon the potential market
Let’s take a look at these categories one by one.
Purpose and Character of the Use
How the copyrighted material is being used is extremely important in determining the fair use of the reproduced work. If the work is being used to generate revenue, it is probably not protected under Fair Use. Usually, the copyrighted material must be being reproduced for non-profit purposes, though that is not the only factor in determination. Some uses generally protected are: journalism, parody, criticism or commentary, and education. Here are some examples of Purpose and Character in action:
A user sees a sketch someone on Twitter shared as a WIP for an upcoming commission. They decide to take that sketch and use it as a base for their own commission. This is not Fair Use.
A user creates an avatar and tells their followers that it cannot be used without their permission. Someone writes a blog story about the artists on Tumblr, and includes a screenshot of their identifying information, including their avatar. This is Fair Use.
Nature of the Copyrighted Work
What the copyrighted work is also matters. Factual works and nonfiction are the most likely materials to be covered under Fair Use, but the only thing exclusively not covered is an unpublished work like a private manuscript. Courts also disapprove of the use of commercially available materials; if it’s for sale, you have to buy it! This is the clause of fair use that gets creators like those at YouTube in a sticky situation, because the only real way to determine is something meets this criteria is to have it determined by a judge.
Amount and Substantiality of the Portion Used
How much of the copyrighted work is used is another point of Fair Use. This is another category that is hard to determine outside of a court, but it’s generally accepted in IP law that using only what you need is likely to be covered under the law. Using an entire picture or photograph is likely not covered, but using a low-resolution image or a thumbnail has been ruled in precedent cases as Fair Use. Using clips of a movie to summarize it is probably Fair Use, as is using some song lyrics or an excerpt from a book. The more transformative a reproduced work is (the more it has been changed) the more likely it is to qualify under this section. Here are some examples of Amount and Substantiality:
An artist decides that they like a piece of art on deviantArt, and downloads the piece to make their own. They reproduce the exact same scene with their own characters, changing the faces and colors of the characters in it. This is not Fair Use.
An artist decides that they like a pose from a photograph they saw on deviantArt. They download the piece, and use it as a reference for a pose in a piece that they are making. The end result is a completely new picture compared to the reference. This is Fair Use.
Effect of the Use Upon the Potential Market
This is one of the easier determinants of Fair Use, and one of the most important ones. This clause of Fair Use comes down to what kind of access was originally available: if you could realistically purchase the work or the rights to the copyrighted work, then it is usually not covered under Fair Use. If using the work will damage the market for that particular work or reroute revenue for that work from the original copyright holder, then it is also probably not Fair Use. Here are some instances of Effect of Use:
A YouTuber makes a channel where they summarize movies for the public. They do not purchase the movies, and they use the main parts of the movie, sped up, to give users the full experience. People who watch their channel do it so that they will not have to purchase the movie themselves, thus depriving the original copyright holders of the revenue for the movie they’ve enjoyed. This is not Fair Use.
A YouTuber makes a channel where they summarize movies for the public. They purchase the movies and use some clips of main events in between commentary on the film. At the end, they leave the viewers wondering what the full movie is like, and they encourage users to go watch the movies for themselves, providing links to the original work. This is Fair Use.
Is the Blog’s Avatar Protected by Fair Use?
The only way to realistically know would be to go before a judge, but I believe so. The avatar in question is used to criticize prominent members of the community and educate users about what Ren did to his survivors [Purpose]. I only used Ethren’s face, because that is what Ren is known for, and transformed it as a thumbnail meant to convey that purpose [Amount]. I could not have purchased Ren’s cover photo, since it was not for sale, and neither could anyone else [Effect]. I believe since it was a publicly published work that was used to identify Ren and his characters, the clause of Nature is also met.
If you don’t agree that my use of the image is protected under Fair Use, or believe it is protected but is morally wrong, I understand your argument and you have every right to believe me a hypocrite. I don’t automatically believe that people who don’t believe I’m using Fair Use or who think I have morally ulterior motives are necessarily supporters of Ren; however, I do think that people who have supported someone who defends art thieves and people who continue to support them themselves have very little weight when discussing what is and what is not protected under copyright.
It’s completely understandable to have your own opinions. I encourage you to do so! IP law is incredibly complicated and it’s important to be educated both as art audiences and as artists. Art theft is wrong. Fair Use is important. Those things are sometimes at odds. What isn’t okay is sending death threats to people you don’t agree with. No one deserves to be harassed, abused, and told to “go die,” period. I’ve always believe that, and while Ren is a gross little narcissist monster, he doesn’t deserve death threats, either.
Be good people.

6, 7, 38 please?
ooh I missed this earlier (tumblr’s phone app sucks?) but am still procrastinating (I am always procrastinating), so:
6. (how did your writing change you?)
I’m going to take this as referring to fic writing specifically, since I can scarely remember a time I wasn’t writing something or other, but the fic basically started in late April. It’s been a delight! Possibly detrimental to, like, academic and career obligations and prospects given the number of hours poured into it, but I can’t bring myself to care, because I’ve found a lot of joy in this, and also a sense of wild, heedless pleasure that had kind of slowly been leached out of the labor of writing in the other formats and voices I’ve spent most of my adult life working in. And the response, in comments on AO3 and interactions here, has been beyond my wildest imaginings, and has done a lot to buoy my confidence and happiness in what’s mostly been a tough year, personally and otherwise.
7. (early influences on your writing)
idk, uff???, define “early.” I’m in my mid-30′s, so I’ve been reading voraciously for about three decades now: just constantly hoovering up text, from “trash” fiction to “highbrow” literature to news copy to dry academic prose, and I’m pretty sure it all goes into the mix. I will say that I read a lot of poetry and literary/narrative nonfiction, and those definitely influence me at the word and sentence level; I am eternally weak for a lovely, memorable phrase or clause or sentence, and do my best to provide them when possible. In terms of writing romance, the OTPs I mentioned in the recent meme are definitely an “early influence,” and a lasting one. Megan Whalen Turner is a more recent addition to that pantheon, but I’ve reread her books just as obsessively in the last few years, and they display a number of virtues I can only hope to emulate. And I’ve been reading fic on and off for almost a decade, so that’s definitely shaped my approach to writing it. Just based on the sheer number of times I’ve reread certain of their stories, I’d call out rageprufrock, lightgetsin, fahye, astolat, gyzym, and philomytha as major influences on what I find satisfying as a fic reader, and therefore aim to achieve as a writer. More recently, and specifically for this pairing, gwen77 is (unsurprisingly) an MVP. Her stories are so good, and her takes on the characters so resonant and effective, that they almost reduce my motivation to write my own, because they effortlessly hit so many of the places I’m reaching for. When she reappeared out of nowhere with a very kind comment on chapter 6 of Ring Them Bells, let me tell you: I LOST MY SHIT. And was consequently re-motivated af.
38. (do you reread your own stories?)
I sure do! Mainly for practical reasons: either to maintain consistency between chapters in a WIP or works in a shared continuity (so my current WIP has me going back to A Great Fountain to check timeline and dialogue and things), or to make sure I’m not repeating myself too much when writing similar kinds of stuff (for example, overusing the same phrases or motifs, especially in smut scenes). But while rereading for this sort of purpose, I’ve also sometimes found myself getting sucked into the story and enjoying it as a reader, which was a totally unexpected development. It only works when I manage to switch off my internal editor (which is hard to do, because its default mode is ON), but when it does, it’s wild: there’s something odd and surprising and almost illicit-feeling about managing to engage my own brain’s narrative payoff response that way. Like learning to masturbate all over again, but for your story-triggered emotional nervous system.

Works in Progress Meme
Do Dis: List all the things you’re currently working on in as much or little detail as you’d like, then tag some friends to see what they’re working on. This can be writing, art, vids, gifsets, whatever. Tagged by my lovely, @bixgirl1! Oh god, though, my WIP folder is titled WIP Folder of Doom. There are so many ;A;
Works In Progress
VLD - Our Hearts Ablaze: Aka “Klance a/b/o in space”. An exercise in trope subversion with omega!Lance and omega!Keith, who thought he was a beta but was very very wrong. It’s all good though, Lance has his back.
VLD - “Klance Dating Chicken”: A fluffy romp and it’s pretty much what it says on the tin, where those dorks try to one up each other at being good boyfriends.
HP - “NYE Promises”: UGH a drarry fic that I started and intended to post before Valentine’s this year, but I didn’t finish it in time womp womp. I’m going to hold off and share it this winter. It involves magically binding NYE promises and some oblivious!Draco and awkward!Harry.
HP - It’s a Mean World That I’ve Known: Sequel to my Erised ‘16 fic, Never Got No Good Doing What I’m Told, that explores more cases and shows Harry and Draco’s relationship with each other as they learn how to be in a relationship and work through those bumps together. The main thing I’m excited for is that there will be an opportunity for Draco to go undercover, which Harry isn’t best pleased with since Draco’s a DMLE employee, but not a trained Auror, so Harry has to run point form behind the scenes while struggling against the urge to insinuate himself undercover as well.
HP - Make it Better pt 4 and pt 5:  *shifty side eye* These are both mostly finished....*cough* I know there are people very eager for the next 2 parts.
HP - “Accidental Married In Vegas”:  hfjdkslhldsah how do I describe this? It’s been sitting in my WIP folder for over a year. Basically the boys wake up accidentally married after getting black out drunk and when they go to get it annulled the Ministry keeps having problems trying to get rid of it because of an ancient and strict clause that ties into the wards of Grimmauld Place set by the Black ancestors, so they end up having to try to exist in their separate lives, despite being married. Also features a sentient Grimmauld Place.
HP - A Fragile Web: The WIP I’ve been working on the longest, since like 2015? I have this 99% planned out but only 4 out of 22 chapters written. This is a huge slow burn Repairing Hogwarts/8th year/Accidental Bond fic where the boys spend the summer forging a friendship while they rebuild Hogwarts. When Harry goes to leave with Ron for Auror training a bond manifests between Harry and Draco that keeps him there. It also includes Draco’s probation and hearing, PTSD, depression and anxiety/panic attacks.
VLD - “Amnesia Klance”: Lance gets hit with something during a mission gone wrong that has a delayed effect. What the team thinks is just a concussion that a little time in a healing pod will sort out turns out to completely deteriorate Lance’s memory within the week. He thinks they’ve kidnapped him and he just wants to go home. The team desperately scrambles to find a way to fix Lance’s memory, they can’t form Voltron without him.
And there are plenty of other hastily scribbled down notes floating around my the folder of doom, but these are the most fleshed out/actually written ideas.
Tagging: @tryslora @seefin @froekenpest @firethesound @shiftylinguini @mugglelissa and anyone else who wants to play! If you’ve got a WIP of anything, tag in and share it! :)
