I’m a sucker for those Injustice games but one thing that will always drive me nuts is how they wanted really badly to have Waylon in Injustice 2 but literally said, “We already have the Ninja Turtles, so it might be redundant.”  And I’m just sitting here like, “You motherfuckers...”
The good news is that means his odds of being in the third game are really high.  And I’d be hella stoked to see Waylon turn up in a fighting game like Injustice because it means you’d probably get to play with a whole assortment of different cosmetics with the way Netherrealm handles the gear now.  Shit like different pants, shirts (tho I’d go shirtless for my scaly boi and hope he’s got some chonk to him like he did in the second game as a background transition) or maybe even different heads.
What’s crazier is Waylon is already in Injustice mobile and has a special takedown move like every other character where he drags them underwater, noms them and throws them back into the air for a smash.  It was the same shit they did with Deadshot when he was only a mobile character and got added to Injustice 2, they kept his mobile special.  So a lot of the moves are already there.
But one of the biggest reasons I’d wanna see Waylon in Injustice 3 specifically is for all the dialogue he’d have for the intros and clashes and his opening animations.  In fact, fuck it, for the lols, I’m gonna write some of that shit right now in another post because I’m a huge fighting game nerd.

writing life
So, I haven’t checked in with my Camp NaNo results (@whatsherfacewrites I saw your tag 😊).  Long story short, I did not win!  I got about 25k, instead of the 50k target.  My goal was actually 60k, because overreaching is a very Me thing to do.
But I am not sad about that!  Because—long story summarized—it taught me a few things, as most life experiences do.  It taught me that I can fast draft, or get to a “zero draft” state, very quickly, but my first draft (or is it second at that point?) is more of a labor.
rambling about my writing below:
Here’s how I work: my notes for any individual scene/chapter/chonk of text are a mix of untagged dialogue and keyboard smashing description and summary.  Typically linear, though when my muse jumps around, I follow.  The result is an unformed lump of words, the zero draft.  After some first draft shaping and second run smoothing, it becomes the final chapter.
However, all the ingredients are there from the start.  Well, I do add a smidge of additional dialogue or rumination if it occurs to me while editing.  A lot of times in a fast draft I will use a word or phrase which I know sucks, so I will bracket it and move on, reminding myself to change it later.  This works for pacing problems, too.
Where am I going with this?  The reason I can’t first draft quickly is because I zero draft quickly.  First draft is essentially rewriting the lump so it looks like something fit for human consumption.  And that takes time.  Or, at least, it takes me time.
That’s ok.  Some of my NaNo time was used to zero draft a lot of text, but I can’t call it finished writing.  They are, technically, words, so they count.  Some of the time went to first draft “real” writing, and I got a lot of good stuff from that.  But not the huge amount I was hoping for.
When I put out the latest chapter of my story, even though I was very happy with it, I started to bum myself out thinking about how long I’ve been working on it, and how much more I have to go.  I’ve been working on Wind and flame for over two years.  It’s not even half finished.  The idea of finishing it this year feels like a joke to me, and also really stifling, considering the other work I want to do (which I’ll go into in another post...).
It made me feel like I’d been doing nothing with my time.
But then I went through my AO3 list of works and tallied up all the work I’ve done in that time.  It’s quite a lot.
Tumblr media
A lot of work, most of it unfinished, and it reflects my lack of focus.  Again, that’s ok, as long as I recognize it.
So, my intentions with Camp NaNo were good: to focus on Wind and flame and finish it up.  My goal just wasn’t realistic.  If I can pull away from this while retaining that focus, even if my work is slow, I will finish it.  Someday.  Maybe soon.  A little at a time will get me there.

A Splendidly Chunky Resolution for Dwelling Room Gaming – Evaluate Geek
http://tinyurl.com/y3yfdf46 Score: 8/10 ? 1 – Absolute Sizzling Rubbish 2 – Sorta Lukewarm Rubbish 3 – Strongly Flawed Design 4 – Some Professionals, Tons Of Cons 5 – Acceptably Imperfect 6 – Good Sufficient to Purchase On Sale 7 – Nice, However Not Greatest-In-Class 8 – Implausible, with Some Footnotes 9 – Shut Up And Take My Cash 10 – Absolute Design Nirvana Worth: $250 The Razer Turret is an costly and, typically, unwieldy mouse-keyboard combo, but it surely could be value it for the best gamer. Michael Crider How do you utilize a mouse and keyboard whilst you’re on the sofa? The query has plagued PC players who wish to play in the lounge for years, however Razer thinks it has the most effective answer. This is What We Like Feels unbelievable on the sofa Sensible magnetic mousepad Strong steel construct Simple to maneuver round regardless of dimension And What We Do not Excessive value No macros or customized lighting on Xbox One Mousepad is a bit small And it could be proper. The Turret is ostensibly for the Xbox One, but it surely’s appropriate with absolutely anything that takes a mouse and keyboard enter. It combines a “tenkeyless” mechanical keyboard, a typical Razer mouse within the Mamba/Deathadder fashion, and an enormous and heavy steel body that sits comfortably in your lap. It’s all related through a super-fast wi-fi dongle and, naturally, it’ll mild up like a Christmas tree. Razer needs $250 for this huge package deal. And for a sure type of gamer, it could be value it. This Factor Is a Chonk That’s what I believed once I first opened the Turret package deal. At 7.6 inches deep x 15.Four inches huge x 1.5 inches excessive, it’s large for a tenkeyless mechanical board. However while you decide it up, you understand it weighs greater than 4 kilos—heavier than most laptops. The huge steel deck of the Turret helps maintain it in your lap. Michael Crider It feels prefer it might cease bullets. It’s a large (actually) enchancment over the unique mobile-style Razer Turret, a shocking disappointment that warrants no additional dialogue. The burden is intentional. Mixed with the extraordinarily “grippy” rubber underside of the unit, it retains the Turret firmly planted in your lap while you’re utilizing it on the sofa. Nothing wanting a leaping canine will wrest this factor out of your vegetative pose. And the prolonged, angled wrist relaxation makes it essentially the most comfy keyboard I’ve ever utilized in the lounge. The one problem is discovering a spot for it on my espresso desk. The small mousepad slides out of the best facet of the keyboard housing. Michael Crider Included are a mouse and mousepad, the latter of which slides out of the best facet of the metallic housing in a really satisfying means. Its tough, plastic end makes the many of the comparatively small pad space: 8.Three x 7 inches. This space is made even smaller by the full-sized mouse, which borrows the form and buttons of the Razer Mamba. Energy switches on the mouse and keyboard enable the person to save lots of energy. Michael Crider Each the keyboard and mouse embrace energy switches, to assist save battery when not in use, and charging ports. Oddly, the keyboard recharges through USB-C whereas the mouse has to make do with MicroUSB. I’m assuming that is in order that Razer didn’t need to give you a brand new physique mould or PCB. Each might be recharged individually, however the mouse may also join on to the keyboard through a proprietary cable for an on-the-fly battery increase. It’s too dangerous this cable is so brief as a result of it makes truly enjoying tough. Mousepads: How Do They Work? Bodily, the keyboard is similar to Razer’s BlackWidow Match Version Chroma, apart from the devoted Xbox button that replaces the best CTRL key. Inexperienced “clicky” switches and RGB lighting are included, naturally. The mouse seems similar to the wi-fi Mamba. However that slide-out mousepad deserves some explicit consideration. The tough texture of the mousepad retains mouse journey to a minimal. Michael Crider The mousepad deck could be very barely magnetized, with corresponding weak magnets within the mouse. Mixed, this offers the mouse a little bit of a “pull” while you’re utilizing it—simply sufficient to let it cling to the tough texture of the pad, type of like two shirts caught collectively by dryer static. It’s a beautiful little bit of design that I feel will need to have taken a ton of testing to get good. Additional-strong magnets within the upper-right nook of the sliding pad maintain the mouse anchored whereas shifting the unit. Michael Crider However wait, that’s not all! There’s a piece on the high proper nook of the mousepad that has extra-powerful magnets—simply sufficient in order that they “stick” to the mouse somewhat tougher. With the mouse “docked” on this spot, it gained’t fall off the pad except you tilt it nearly the wrong way up. Mixed with a semi-closed place for the sliding mechanism, it’s an excellent approach to make the cumbersome Turret simpler to maneuver from lap to espresso desk to (if you happen to like) your desk. Works with Xbox and PC, however Not Fairly the Similar Talking of desks, sure, each the keyboard and mouse will work wonderful together with your common PC. That’s true whether or not your laptop is sitting beneath your TV or on a desk. The ergonomics of the desktop aren’t splendid because of the excessive top of the keyboard and the tendency the mouse has of sliding quickly on something besides its personal pad. However the choice is there, as is the choice to configure the keys and lighting through Razer Synapse. Razer’s Synapse software program permits PC customers to customise the inputs, but it surely’s not obtainable on the Xbox One. Michael Crider That is odd as a result of whereas Synapse treats the keyboard and mouse like some other Razer product on the PC, full with full customization of button format and macros, the corresponding app on the Xbox doesn’t provide any of that. You possibly can modify the mouse’s DPI sensitivity and select from just a few pre-baked lighting patterns, however that’s it. If the sport doesn’t provide dynamic lighting in Razer’s system (most don’t) or an choice to rebind keys (some do), you’re caught with the defaults for the whole lot. This brings up one other disappointment, though this one isn’t Razer’s fault: sport choice. On the time of writing, the Xbox One only has a few dozen games that assist keyboard and mouse management. I attempted out Fortnite and Sea of Thieves because the former was free and the latter was the one one on the checklist I personal. The Turret makes use of Razer’s typical Chroma RGB lighting system. Michael Crider Are you able to justify such an costly add-on for only some video games, even when these embrace heavy hitters like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Warframe? I can’t. However if you happen to play any of these commonly and crave an edge or a extra acquainted, PC-style enter, maybe you’ll be able to. Solely a Few Downsides Other than the worth and the dearth of customization choices on Xbox, there aren’t too many drawbacks to the Turret design. The largest one is the small mousepad, however that’s a limitation of the shape—something bigger would have been unwieldy. The package deal consists of at least three charging cables, a wall wart, and a wi-fi USB receiver. Michael Crider The aforementioned super-short charging cable that connects the mouse to the keyboard is a letdown, however two different cables for charging are lengthy and splendidly braided. Each the keyboard and mouse will drain shortly when lighting results are on full show, however such is the case with all wi-fi gaming gear. You possibly can play them in wired mode simply or simply flip off the lights within the settings apps. On that observe, you’ll wish to maintain these items charged up. The mouse will get choosy about pairing as soon as the battery drains, and it’d want a minute or two to reconnect to the wi-fi receiver. Razer’s inexperienced (clicky) mechanical switches are the one ones obtainable on the Turret. Michael Crider Different annoyances are minimal. I might have most popular a normal key format so alternative keycaps would match, however the Cult of Razer (I’m not being cheeky—that’s from Razer’s vellum letter within the field) wouldn’t have it some other means. I might have appreciated linear switches as a substitute of the clicky greens—a lot better for fast-paced gaming—however they’re the one ones on provide. Is It Value It? Throughout my testing, I made a decision the Turret wanted to reply one query: did enjoying with the mouse and keyboard on the Xbox really feel the identical because it did on the PC? The reply is sure. In that regard, the Turret is successful. And never a straightforward one. The ergonomics of the large, heavy, lap-friendly keyboard and that splendidly satisfying magnetic mousepad are to be applauded. The latter is somewhat small for my liking—you’ll have to pump up the sensitivity of the 16000 DPI mouse sensor to get the most effective use out of shooters. However given the restrictions of a lounge setup, it’s nonetheless excellent. The physique of the keyboard features a beefy wrist wrest. Michael Crider Now we come to the query of worth. In contrast with a daily, wired Razer keyboard and wi-fi mouse combo (BlackWidow Tournament Edition and Mamba), the Turret is just about $50 extra. With the added {hardware} and Xbox-specific performance, it’s comprehensible. Sadly, Microsoft and its growth companions appear to be including keyboard video games at a snail’s tempo, and whether or not that list consists of one you care about is one thing of a crapshoot. For the worth and functionality, I feel the Turret makes extra sense accompanying a lounge PC. For a gaming PC hooked as much as your TV (or one thing just like the Steam Hyperlink), the Turret is a unbelievable software, with entry to the entire lighting and customization choices Razer followers are used to. It’s nonetheless costly, however not a lot greater than a daily Razer set that it’s unreasonable. Potential patrons ought to know that solely a handful of video games work with the Turret (or any mouse and keyboard). Michael Crider Are you able to justify $250 for a mouse and keyboard, both in your Xbox One or your lounge PC? That’s a query I can’t reply for you, however if you happen to can, spending it on the Razer Turret gained’t disappoint you. Right here’s What We Like Feels unbelievable on the sofa Sensible magnetic mousepad Strong steel construct Simple to maneuver round regardless of dimension And What We Do not Excessive value No macros or customized lighting on Xbox One Mousepad is a bit small !function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s){if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function(){n.callMethod?n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments)};if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0';n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0;t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0];s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)}(window,document,'script','https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js');fbq('init','1137093656460433');fbq('track','PageView'); Source link
