Enjoy Home-Delivered Meals: The Best Meal Delivery for Seniors
Aging brings with it new challenges and changes, especially when it comes to maintaining a healthy and consistent diet. For many older adults, shopping for groceries, planning meals, and cooking each day can become overwhelming or physically demanding. Fortunately, today’s meal delivery for seniors is helping transform daily life — offering a simple, dependable, and healthy solution right at your doorstep.
Thanks to a variety of services now available across the country, seniors can enjoy home-cooked meals without ever needing to step into a kitchen. With a growing list of options that include food delivery near me, nutritious weekly plans, and even grocery delivery for seniors, staying independent and well-fed has never been easier.
The Importance of Meal Delivery for Seniors
Nutrition plays a critical role in healthy aging. A well-balanced diet supports immunity, brain function, energy levels, and helps manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. However, many seniors find meal preparation difficult due to reduced mobility, medication side effects, or loss of appetite.
This is where meal delivery for seniors makes a huge difference. By providing ready-to-eat or heat-and-eat meals that are specifically designed for older adults, these services promote better health, reduce stress, and allow seniors to maintain independence in their own homes.
What to Look for in the Best Meal Delivery Services
When it comes to choosing the best food delivery services for seniors, a few key factors set exceptional providers apart:
1. Nutritionally Balanced Meals
The ideal service offers meals designed by dietitians or nutrition experts. Seniors often require specific diets — such as low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, or heart-healthy options — and having access to meals that meet these needs is essential.
2. Meal Variety and Taste
Seniors should enjoy mealtime, not just endure it. Services offering diverse menus and tasty, culturally inclusive dishes make the experience far more enjoyable and satisfying.
3. Ease of Use
The ordering process should be simple and accessible. Whether by phone, website, or app, seniors or their caregivers should find it easy to schedule deliveries, select meals, and track orders.
4. Affordability
Affordability is often a concern for older adults on fixed incomes. Many programs offer tiered pricing, discounts for seniors, or accept Medicaid and other forms of assistance to make meals more accessible.
Meal Delivery vs. Grocery Delivery for Seniors: Why Not Both?
While many seniors enjoy the simplicity of heat-and-eat meals, others still prefer cooking occasionally or preparing snacks. That’s where grocery delivery for seniors becomes a valuable complement to meal delivery services.
Instead of navigating crowded grocery stores or relying on others, seniors can have fresh produce, dairy, bread, and household essentials delivered to their home with ease. Some services, like Instacart, Shipt, or Walmart Grocery, even allow you to shop from multiple stores and have everything delivered the same day.
Here’s why pairing grocery delivery for seniors with meal services is so effective:
Flexibility: Seniors can enjoy fresh, prepared meals during the week and cook simple dishes on weekends.
Customization: Allows individuals to supplement their meal delivery with favorite snacks, beverages, or special diet items.
Reduced Physical Strain: No need to carry heavy bags or navigate transportation.
This combination approach ensures seniors get the best of both worlds — convenience and choice.
Benefits Beyond the Plate
The advantages of meal delivery for seniors extend far beyond nutrition. Here’s how it contributes to an improved quality of life:
1. Social Interaction
Many senior-focused delivery services include wellness checks with each delivery. A friendly face dropping off a meal can lift spirits and offer peace of mind for families.
2. Safety
Reduced cooking reduces the risk of burns, cuts, or kitchen accidents — a common concern for aging adults.
3. Routine and Structure
Receiving meals on a set schedule helps maintain healthy routines, encourages consistent eating habits, and prevents missed meals due to forgetfulness or fatigue.
4. Peace of Mind for Loved Ones
Family members and caregivers can feel reassured knowing their loved ones are eating well and receiving regular visits from delivery staff or volunteers.
Technology Making Meals More Accessible
Technology has played a key role in improving meal delivery for seniors. Whether it's voice-assisted ordering, easy-to-use apps, or automatic reorder features, the process has become more senior-friendly than ever before.
Many services now allow caregivers or family members to manage deliveries remotely, set up dietary preferences, and monitor meal consumption — making nutrition support easier and more efficient.
Meal Delivery for Seniors: Independence Served Fresh
More than just a modern convenience, meal delivery for seniors is a cornerstone of aging with dignity and independence. It empowers older adults to remain at home longer, eat better, and feel more confident in their daily routine.
For those searching for food delivery near me, or aiming to supplement their meals with grocery delivery for seniors, today’s services offer a variety of options to match individual tastes, health needs, and budgets.
Conclusion: Bringing Comfort to the Table
Enjoying nutritious and delicious meals at home is something everyone deserves — especially older adults who’ve spent a lifetime providing for others. With the availability of the best food delivery services and dependable grocery delivery for seniors, it’s easier than ever to ensure mealtime is no longer a challenge, but a comfort.
Whether it’s a daily dinner delivered warm to the door or a week’s worth of groceries selected with care, today’s solutions are bringing health, happiness, and flavor back to the tables of seniors everywhere.

What are some other food delivery apps similar to DoorDash?
DoorDash is a food delivery service with locations around the United States. It's an excellent choice for individuals who don't want to cook or leave their house and those who want to experience new places without leaving their homes. DoorDash is becoming increasingly popular, but several other food delivery services exist to explore.\The delivery fee varies depending on the eatery. With this app and website, you can find a local favorite and explore new ones. If there's one thing that distinguishes Delivery. com from the competition, they bring food, wine, groceries, gifts, and laundry. Laundry, yes. You may accumulate Delivery Points with every purchase and use them for free credit and other benefits.
Instacart is an online grocery shopping and delivery business that serves customers in certain cities around the United States. Instacart's method of delivering food from a nearby supermarket to your home is easy and efficient.
Customers can order groceries via the Instacart website or mobile app, select a convenient delivery time, and pay a modest fee to deliver their groceries. Instacart costs less than DoorDash. The organization has an extensive network of shoppers that deliver groceries using their automobiles.
The ideal retail therapy app is Grubhub. If you're unaware, it's similar to DoorDash, but delivery is available in every city. The concept is straightforward: you order products online, and a courier picks them up before delivering them to your house.
The software uses geolocation to locate the nearest courier, which is helpful for customers who are unsure from which store they want their supplies. Grubhub has a large selection of things, making it the ideal online shopping app for those looking for a specific item.
Uber Eats and Grubhub are popular applications that offer a service similar to DoorDash. These applications have numerous features that make them superior to DoorDash. For example, with Uber Eats, you may order from various restaurants simultaneously, saving you time when comparing pricing or menus.

earlier last year a regional gas station chain offered a whopping twenty five cents off per gallon. many terms and conditions applied. the one that made me scoff and delete the app right there at the pump was that location data had to be on at all times. not just when you were using the app or in a geofenced area around the gas stations, all the time. i hate people knowing where i am. i despise my data being sold. do not advertise to me. fuck off.
last year this made me briefly wonder about the loyalty programs i have with the regional supermarket chains, big y and stop & shop. i don't even want to think about whatever instacart was collecting on me much earlier in the pandemic. unfortunately i can choose not to drive as much but i really should not eat less and i do love a loss leader sale. and then i had to move again and forgot about it. earlier this week my favorite data scientists at The Markup dropped a...upsetting article on kroger's data practices, which can include in-store tracking, biometrics, facial recognition, and when shopping on kroger.com: "Third-party trackers send your product page views, search terms, and items that you have added to your shopping cart to Meta, Google, Bing, Pinterest, and Snapchat." did you know they have their own spinoff data company? for why, you might ask?
Experts told The Markup that companies that sell products in grocery stores don’t have much visibility into what happens after their items are placed on shelves. These brands want granular shopping data that only supermarkets have in order to gauge the success of the brands’ products. In recent years, this data has become harder to come by and therefore more valuable.
i try very hard not to be be doom and gloom about tech bc reporting already tends toward the hysteric, and usually there is stuff i can do or a different option i can take to avoid a package of my data being sold and linked to other packages of my data. however, it is unrealistic to leave my phone at home and pay with cash, and financially i can't afford to opt out of these loyalty programs. sucks! sucks real bad! The Markup articles are pretty good at making the american senate take notice, but they are very slow and do not always fully understand tech abuses, bc their average age is sixty fuckin three.

watching
im ticking along in adventure time, in the middle of season six, the last real long season before we get down to twenty and fourteen episode seasons. there has been an amusing string of episodes where finn and jake aren't present or are only present briefly. this show will wander off to tell the most heartrending story about a character you will never see again, and this episode will stick with you for ten years.
ive also been looking at the fandom (i know) wiki page for each episode, bc why not, and it is a very funny fan wiki. a great deal of emphasis on animation errors with the caveats that maybe the miscolored arm of a princess in episode whatever actually means there's two princesses of that kingdom and we're only seeing the second one for the first time now. whenever the show references a classic work, the note in the wiki has the tone of "ugh this weird old thing why is my show making a joke about it". if an episode won an emmy (this show won fifteen emmys btw) it is usually the very last thing on the page bc that's not lore or errors or connections to other episodes why should you care??? either a very specific type of guy or a bunch of young teens wrote this. probably a bunch of young teens that grew up to be a very specific type of guy.

playing
thank u for all ur open world rpg recs, i think horizon zero dawn is the closest thing to what i want but i will probably end up playing Prey first (which has exactly one of the many qualities i want and is not open world even a little bit) bc it is a game i actually own. but im here to say i know im having a depressive episode when im listening to a lot of mother mother and playing f/allout 4. anyway we're back at it again in far harbor, which at least contains the most interesting storytelling in the game. can we all say hello to andre, bethesda's eleventh first gay character?
coming up on this drive-in theater with an incongruous neon heart looming out of the mist and spooky music plus screams from the horror movie trailer that's been playing on loop since the bombs dropped is SO fun. nothing on the mainland is quite this atmospheric. the fog really does heighten the fun of exploration. i know dead money did it first and better but this is less dire than dead money. usually.
also i forgot they're showing a western staring Legally Not Lee van Cleef if u switch the reels. this is not even getting into the delightful enemy encounter at this location bc i have a different location i want to talk about
GOD the MS Azalea (the one screenshot that isn't mine and is from the wiki) is so fun to run around. a rusted out, ripped in half cargo ship with five different sections (guardpost, top of ship, shipping container apartments on top of ship, inner sheltered harbor within ship and floating kitchen/pool table parlor, floating bar and clinic lashed to ship entered by swimming or elevator down from the top of the ship, sheltered harbor between two halves of the broken ship. each of these sections uses vertical space in interesting ways bc the ship is so fucking big. there is a straight up House underneath that boat. and everything feels very lived in, there's clutter and signs of life everywhere. these guys are just vibing with their little stores and their little apartments. a smarter game or a game with more time would have leaned into "you were sent to kill these guys by the townsfolk bc they felt threatened by an unaffiliated settlement" but alas. the trappers on the boat are just xp.
it is very funny that the lighthouse on the south end of the island refuses to load in properly, no matter where i am
this dlc, more than anything else in the game, actually does feel like my choices matter. i do the missions for the mariner and the barricade physically changes. i do enough fairly complex quest chains for enough of the town and they decide they like me enough to go build settlements. seeing the settlement fog condensers off in the distance from across the island feels very different from the mainland, where generally your settlement's buildings don't pop in until you're pretty fucking close.
i really don't care about how big the map is, i want the main game to be this dense and this bold in telling a stories, start to finish, that feel very interconnected and grounded to its location. i am feeling a little conflicted with my playtime, bc i gotta lotta fucking bones to pick with this game, but i am having fun with this dlc. part of it is "what if fallout/the rest of the game was good" and part of it is the depression making any scrap of delight feel weird. so it goes. february will end eventually.

Digital Retailing: Understanding and Communicating with the E-Consumer.
Over the last few years digital retailing and e-commerce have been steadily increasing. And then with the COVID-19 pandemic and months of lockdown, e-commerce has skyrocketed. In 2022 the United States' eCommerce surpassed one trillion dollars (Clark, 2022) and holds roughly an 11.27% annual growth rate (Statista, 2022).
Hi, my name is Megan Wilhoit I am a digital marketing student at Davenport University in Michigan, and I am a consumer. I am lucky enough to come from a generation who grew up with technology as an aid to my life and have it not consume my life. Because of this, I was able to see how retail has changed over the years for the average consumer. I get to see firsthand how new technology is impacting our lives, whether that is an advantage or disadvantage. And as someone who is is wanting to go into digital marketing, getting to experience how digital retail affects consumers and how they shop is super important.
I remember the days when if I couldn’t find something at Meijer, I would go to a different store or find the next best alternative. But now we live in a world where if I don’t see a specific product in store, I go straight to Amazon, or that store's website, and order it to be at my doorstep in one day. Over the last 23 years, I have gotten to witness the fantastic advantages e-shopping has brought to e-consumers. But I have also gotten to see the disadvantages that come with e-shopping for consumers. And when comparing the advantages and disadvantages, it makes me start to wonder how “great” e-shopping really is for the average consumer.
One of the most common advantages I have seen is the convenience e-shopping has brought to consumers. Like I stated before, I remember the days when if something could not be found in-store, you would have to go to a different location or store to find the product or you could maybe order the product online. But now with e-retailing, consumers (like myself) can purchase products from anywhere online. I don’t need to go in person to look for a product. Also, online retailers such as Amazon, have even made the online purchasing environment even easier, using “buy now with one click” options, saving your address and payment information for future purchases, and easily being able to re-purchase goods you have bought in the past. With these benefits, consumers are also not having to put in as much effort and thinking when it comes to buying. These benefits are focused more on non-perishable items, but e-retailers have even been bringing grocery shopping online. With companies such as Shipt, Instacart, or grocery stores' online grocery shopping applications, consumers can do their weekly grocery shopping from the comfort of their homes or during breaks at work. Consumers can even schedule when they want their groceries to be delivered and schedule future grocery shopping for their most common items.
The convenience of e-retailing can also be viewed from a location standpoint. E-retailing can put consumers in contact with brands all across the world, or just help consumers reach retailers who don’t have a physical location near them.
Two personal examples of location convince that come to mind are 1, I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am fortunate enough to live near many malls and shopping centers, but one huge company I don’t have nearby is IKEA. With my current financial situation (being a college student and only working part-time), I cannot afford to purchase expensive furniture (even if it will last me longer). So using IKEA can really help save me money. And with e-retailing, I am actually able to purchase their products without having to drive the two and half hour journey. IKEA even offers a “design” feature on their online store where consumers (such as myself) and design out how furniture will fit and look into space. Without e-retailing and its features I would have to truly envision a space with furniture, measure out the open spaces, write a list of these measurements, and still have to make an almost 3-hour car ride to a store where the products in mind may not even be in stock. E-retailing has been able to completely cut out these inconveniences for consumers online. My other personal experience deals with local businesses. Every year I go to Mackinac Island. On the island, there are so many cute local shops and boutiques, and I love looking through them to get gift ideas. With e-retailing I can now take their business cards home with me and still be able to purchase their products from my hometown of Grand Rapids, instead of having to make the purchase the exact moment I am on the island. E-retailing has made connecting with local businesses online plausible.
Some other advantages e-retailing has brought consumers are the variety of products or “breadth and depth” as well as the personalization of products. Online stores are able to hold a much larger stock of products for consumers than a traditional store can hold. This allows of consumers to have much more variety in styles, sizing, colors, etc. Also with online shopping, personalizing individual products is much easier. Whether that orders a custom-sized couch to fit a specific living area or customing a pair of Nikes to your significant other's favorite colors. Another area of personalization online retail stores has been able to add sections such as “customers also bought”. Consumers can use these features to find other products or brands similar to what they already have purchased while having this feeling of personalization with the company.
The last “common” advantage e-retailing brings to consumers is the pricing and the ease of product comparisons. Pricing has been found to be cheaper through online retailers because “online retailers may have fewer overhead costs” (Kelly and Baker, 2022), as well as the ease of finding coupon codes and extra sales. Also with the ease of e-retailing consumers can easily compare prices of specific products on different websites to see which site is going to give them the best deal. The same thing goes for products. For me when I think of when I want to buy a dress for a more formal occasion. I can now use the Internet to not only find different brands but also compare their prices, reviews, and style options before making my final purchase. There are also even websites and apps that will compare prices for items for the consumer. The most common occurrence of this I think is comparing airline prices through travel agencies such as Trivago and Google itself.
Although e-retailing has brought consumers so many amazing advantages and conveniences, e-retailing also brings consumers some disadvantages.
One common disadvantage is the lack of security and the fear consumers feel about their information being stolen. For major brands online stores, consumers may feel more comfortable inputting their information, but for smaller or newer brands consumers may have a fear of having their information stolen. And if businesses do not input proper safety measures for this secure information, consumers' personal information can be stolen they will no longer want to shop from that specific e-retail store. I have never had my information stolen through online retail stores, but I am extra careful of what websites I input this information just for extra precaution. Another large disadvantage consumers face with online shopping is the lack of personal interaction. This social interaction can help consumers build loyalty to a brand. I also know from personal experience I really enjoy the interaction in traditional retail stores so I can receive a second opinion from “the expert”, and when purchasing more expensive items such as furniture, it is nice to get that expert opinion and see what they have to offer and if they can make any recommendations, and this cannot be done easily through e-retailing.
Some other disadvantages that customers face with e-retailing (and I have personally experienced) are delivery times can be extremely long or customers have to pay extra money to have products delivered sooner, issues with online refunds, and not being able to actually use our five senses to buy products on the e-retail store.
Customer reviews are one feature of online retailing that I have seen to be an advantage AND a disadvantage for customers. As an advantage, it gives customers a better idea of how products look (with real-life customer images), how materials hold up, and overall how other customers like the product. This can help influence a customer's purchase decision. From my experience, I always read customer reviews before an online purchase now, and if I read any bad reviews I either don’t purchase at all or I have to really think about if I want to make this risky purchase. But I also view customer reviews as a disadvantage sometimes. For starters, some products can have really mixed reviews and it doesn’t help a customer in determining if they want to purchase the product. But also today brands use “influencer marketing” so much more, they pay “influencers” to talk good about their products and promote them, and will even give out sales codes for the influencer's audience to use. With this, it’s hard to tell what reviews are based on personal experience or if they're just being paid to leave good reviews. One example of this that I have seen is with the Beis Weekender Bag/Tote. This product was heavily advertised on TikTok over the last 6 months or so. Every influencer was raving about it and calling it “the best travel bag ever”. Then the average consumer started buying this bag but realized this bag sucked for travel (especially flying). So through these “deceiving” reviews, consumers wasted their money on a product that doesn't actually do its job and this reflects poorly on the brand itself.

hey so, this is, kind of a stressful weird question but as some of you know I work retail and there's a specific customer who is causing quite the problem for us, like its actually making me extremely stressed out because she's mentioned brining lawyers into this, so
If any of you are particularly knowledgeable on the law and specifically ADA/disability law, i have kind of a question below the readmore. Im trying to research the answer myself but I figured there are almost 6k of you and one of you may be able to help. Otherwise this issue is legitimately making me so stressed I may ask questions from a lawyer directly
So anyways without going into extreme detail (EDIT guess who went into detail anyways) I actually made a post about this on my main, but, long story short, there's an extremely emotionally volatile elderly disabled woman who keeps coming into our grocery store and bullying the fuck out of us and making us do things I don't think we are legally obligated to do and recently she's started claiming that she's going to pursue legal action if we don't do what she says
She is ambulatory without use of a walker or cane although she could be using her shopping cart as a brace, even drives herself to the store in a large minivan, but alleges to need help fetching certain items off the shelves. You know, somehow has the strength to walk and push a cart but somehow cannot pick up extremely small items herself. I'm talking even a small pack of grape tomatoes off a face-height shelf, she's asking you to stop what you're doing and grab it for her
Anyways uh normally we wouldn't mind this but the main problem is she's extremely emotionally unpredictable and has a very short temper and is even claiming some of us have "abused her" and "made her feel threatened" so not only is she extremely unpleasant to deal with, but she will literally sit in a chair and refuse to leave the store until an employee, one SHE specifically requests, follows her outside and loads her car for her, which is not a service we provide outside of our instacart service which she would need to do on her phone, but also, again, she keeps making false accusations between us and her, and our parking lot is a legal gray area with no cameras
like legitimately scared of this woman because even though she's not all with it she's lucid enough to be extremely manipulative. I was trapped having to help her load her car and she saw my hands were shaking and commented on it.
Oh! Did I mention? The first time she ever created this whole big scene, deliberately and loudly saying over and over how she's being abused, demanding to sit her chair right in the entryway where people can see her fake hyperventilating, after all of this big show, she said to a manager "isn't there some sort of financial compensation when there's been cases of abuse" so. we're pretty positive she's also just maybe a little actress and wants to dupe us into some sort of incident so she can get free shit
So. Yeah. As a both physically and emotionally disabled person myself I know this is an extremely sensitive, legally precarious topic, because technically if she has emotional diagnosed issues, then technically her behavior is a result of her disability and we aren't allowed to fault her for being an evil nasty old cunt, but also, like.... do we HAVE to help her with every single thing if she can technically do it herself... we don't even want to be near her hysterical old self... she legitimately made me have a fucking panic attack and, don't we have rights too?

Food and Privilege in the age of COVID-19
There are many wonderful sociologists who study food (Marjorie Devault, Sarah Bowen, Krishnendu Ray to name a few), and I am not one of them. But I do spend most of my free time browsing food bloggers’ websites and Instagram pages for recipes, wandering around the grocery store, and baking. As Americans began to realize the true depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, my social media pages were suddenly filled with tips and ideas for how to protect yourself from disease exposure, what foods to stock up on, and the best baking projects to pass the time.
However, many of these suggested practices place people with lower financial resources in jeopardy. For example, one of the most common tips for buying food while lowering risk of exposure is to use services like Instacart to have their groceries delivered to their house. Although the service offers potentially important benefits to those who are at the most risk from the novel corona virus, the people who work as grocery deliverers are now on the front lines of exposure. This transference of risk is similar to wealthy families who are able to hire private fire fighters to protect their homes from California wildfires as those with the most resources are able to mobilize to mitigate their own risk while those without said resources are the most vulnerable.
Credit: Kevork Djansezian—Getty Images
Additionally, even before the pandemic hit, the poorest Americans faced barriers in feeding their families as the Trump administration has tightened restrictions on which Americans are eligible for the food assistant program Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (commonly known as SNAP or food stamps). The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (commonly known as WIC) is separate from SNAP benefits and specifically supports low-income mothers and children. WIC benefits are particularly strict and can only be used to pay for eligible items marked by WIC labels in grocery stores. A viral tweet highlighted how the emptying of grocery stores as Americans rush to stock up on groceries has the potential to create additional barriers for people who rely on WIC.
Because WIC recipients are restricted to purchasing certain brands of food when these items are unavailable, WIC recipients are unable to purchase similar unapproved products. Additionally, SNAP beneficiaries cannot use their benefits to purchase cleaning supplies or other necessities such as toilet paper or tissues.
Credit: Amy Sussman/Getty Images
Food is essential for survival, and, although we are still in the early stages of the pandemic, we are already seeing how our stratified systems disproportionately harms people with the least resources who need the most assistance. Even people who do not qualify for SNAP of WIC benefits may face food insecurity as they may not have available money to buy sizeable amounts of food too keep at home.
So how can we help? The first step is to recognize the structures that generate inequalities to food access. These unequal structures existed before the pandemic began and are only attenuated during this challenging time. The second step involves both private responses. We can choose to not purchase items marked with the WIC label at grocery stores. If we have resources, we can donate to our local food banks so that they have the resources to distribute as much food as possible.
The third step is the most important, as the larger processes that limit access to food is not a problem that can be solved by individual action. We need to call upon our legislators to remove the brand restrictions available for WIC recipients. In this time of shortage, people need to be able to access any food that is available. Importantly, legislators must immediately raise the income threshold for WIC and SNAP eligibility and increase the amount of money offered for recipients. Although many schools are remaining open to allow children to receive breakfasts and lunches that they would have otherwise received at school, there are probably many children who are unable to return to school every day to collect these meals. This means that family’s food requirements will increase for many families. Collective action is necessary to ensure the health and well being through this time, and this is not unavoidable action. Change is possible and within reach if we recognize the structures creating food access inequality and quickly work to mediate these inequalities.

Grocery Website - The New Concept With A Huge Promise
The Covid-19, or the Corona virus, as it is popularly known, is compelling mankind to rethink and readjust its usual pattern of life in many different ways. Hardly ever, in the recorded history of the world, has an invading viral attack been able to catch the world in a state of such unpreparedness, wrecked havoc over such a vast area of the planet, affected such a huge number of the world population simultaneously at such an incredible pace, caused such a huge rate of mortality and disrupted human life to the brink of disaster.
As if that weren't enough, the human population, with the ferocity of the viral onslaught in mind, is forced to retreat to the apparently safe confines of respective homes. Isolating people indoors for prolonged time periods may shield them to quite an extent from the deadly virus. However, the method gives rise to a series of new problems basic to the existence of human not used to the life within such severely shrunken limits.
Indisputably, the most important of them all is the supply of grocery, inadequacy of which leaves people insecure, anxious and jittery.
At this crucial time, when approximately 80% of the world finds itself under complete or partial lockdown, hundreds of thousands of supermarkets and big stores around the world find themselves without customers - a development that may spell doom for their business.
Fortunately, the human race has learned to live with problems while finding solutions to those along the way. With both the business houses and the confined people around the world looking desperately for a way out, the concept of online grocery has emerged as a boon to everybody concerned. With nearly two and a half decades of experience behind, as a professional in the IT sector, I recently took upon myself the task of exploring the trends and potentials of online grocery, motivated largely by the numerous queries received in this regard. Lockdown-worn people from varied quarters of life had mostly some common concerns to share:
a) How to get started with the online grocery supply system? b) Who are the suppliers? c) Are the supplier systems robust enough to meet the sudden surge in demand? d) Can the suppliers match the increasing pressure on their supply systems to sustain them satisfactorily during and beyond the Corona-phase? e) Is it likely that the post-Corona-phase will see the online grocery suppliers fall back to the old supply system - somewhat lax, slow, and casual?
A singular fact to emerge clearly from these queries is that quite a huge number of those concerned people, who have either opted for online grocery supply already, or are looking to join the system, have come to realize and appreciate the merits of the system even beyond the Corona crisis and include it in their way of life. A developed society has significantly higher percentage of population utilizing online grocery facilities anyway. But in the changed scenario, this percentage too has been showing a steady uptrend. Going by the indications obtained from across the world, the concept of online grocery is here to stay.
I was immensely impressed to come across a remarkably inspiring instance of human resilience where a number of individual grocery vendors, out of business by the recent Corona-related developments, joined hands to launch an online grocery vending platform by the name of grocerysellers.com.
It has been reported recently that many restaurants worldwide, with backs to the wall due to alarming rate of fall in business, have chosen the path of fast moving grocery vending. Emerging trends also indicate that many existing players in the online grocery vending segment are expanding infrastructure to cater to much larger clientele, while many large companies are investing briskly in grocery sites.
A grocery website is not merely a plain website, but a well equipped e-Commerce platform-cum management system covering every single step of the process from billing to shipping and inventory management.
In course of my quest for some of the best grocery e-Commerce system providers, the name that figured right on top of my choice, is itechscripts. They provide probably the only solution in the segment to support multi-vendor, multi-currency and multi-language options. This means third party grocery sellers can use your website to sell their items, and you stand benefited by charging either a subscription fee or a percentage on every transaction.
One can hardly overlook the niche design of the front end offered by itechscripts, while also offering utmost simplicity and platform independence comparable to those of eBay, Amazon and Instacart.
During this hour of the prevailing Corona crisis, the hardship-stricken business community cannot afford to spare a fortune in acquiring an efficient grocery e-commerce site - a step that would amount to jumping out of frying pan into the fire. In sharp contrast, one cannot help but be amazed at the extremely affordable price tag the grocery e-commerce site from itechscripts comes with.
Going online apparently seems to be the only way out to keep the shrinking and dying business afloat. The world has come to this realization - the sooner you wake up to the reality, the better it is.
My word of advice for the lockdown-hit existing business community - don't despair! Try to restore the snapped link with your customers by going online. With a more specific reference, the concept of online grocery, where you deal in commodities of everyday use with perpetual demand, there is every possibility of the consumer interest continuing to exist and grow exponentially way beyond the duration of the current crisis.
For the aspiring beginners of online grocery business, there could hardly be a better time to start than now!

Smart Shopping in Salem, NH: Finding Deals and Discounts for Everyday Needs

Introduction
Salem, New Hampshire, is a great place to live and visit. The city has everything from historic sites to natural wonders. If you're looking for ways to save on everyday items in Salem, NH, read on!
Smart Shopping in Salem, NH: Finding Deals and Discounts for Everyday Needs
Shopping smart can save you money. Here are some tips on how to shop smart in Salem, NH:
Look for deals and discounts. When you're shopping for everyday items like groceries, clothes and electronics, look for coupons and sales that will help you get more bang for your buck. If there's a store nearby where you can buy an item at a discount price (as opposed to ordering online), take advantage of it!
Check out local businesses first before buying something new from an online retailer--especially if the product is considered "essential" (like diapers) or has limited shelf life once opened (like milk). This way when someone asks about what type of coffee maker I use at home today instead of yesterday's conversation starter about why their office doesn't have any decent snacks available during lunchtime meetings yet again this week...I won't have any problem answering without sounding like an old man yelling at clouds."
Store Hours - When to Shop?
When you're shopping for groceries, it's best to go during the week. Grocery stores tend to have more deals on certain items during their weekly sales and promotions. This means that if you want to get the most bang for your buck, then Monday through Friday is the time for you!
For specialty stores like clothing boutiques or hardware stores (or any other type of business), however, weekend hours are best because those businesses tend not to offer as many promotions during those days--and they may even close early!
How Can I Save Money at the Grocery Store?
Look for coupons. Coupons can be found in the Sunday paper, on websites and apps like Groupon, or even on social media.
Look for sales. Stores often run sales on certain items during certain times of year--for example, spring cleaning products in April or summer clothing in July--so check the ads before you shop to find out what's on sale at your local grocery store!
Get bulk discounts by purchasing in bulk or signing up for a membership card that offers these kinds of perks (e.g., Costco).
Join store loyalty programs like Amazon Prime Pantry or Instacart Express so that you can take advantage of special deals just by shopping online!
How Can I Find Discounts on Electronics in Salem, NH?
There are a number of ways to find discounts on electronics in Salem, NH.
Check the local paper. If you're looking for a specific brand or type of electronics, check out the Sunday circulars in your area and see if there are any sales going on that week. You may even find some items on sale as early as Tuesday!
Look out for end-of-month sales at big box stores like Best Buy and Walmart. These retailers often run weekly specials during this time period, so keep an eye out for deals on televisions, computers and other tech gadgets that fit within your budget range!
Think holiday shopping seasonally: Christmas is right around the corner (yay!), which means stores will be stocking up their inventory with new products just in time for shoppers like yourself who need gifts ideas - especially those who don't want anything too expensive but still want something thoughtful enough not only impress friends/family members but also show appreciation towards those who helped make such great memories possible over these past few months (or years).
There are many ways to save money when shopping in Salem.
Shop at the right time.
Shop at the right store.
Shop for the right things.
Conclusion
Shopping in Salem is a great way to save money and get the best deals on everyday items. You can find discounts on electronics, groceries and more by shopping smart and using coupons. The key is knowing where to look for these offers so that you don't miss out on any savings opportunities!

On demand delivery companies
On demand delivery has become a popular choice for people who want convenience and flexibility in their daily lives. With the rise of on demand delivery apps and companies, it has become easier than ever to get what you need, when you need it. In this article, we will explore the world of on demand delivery apps and companies and what makes them so popular.
On demand delivery apps are essentially platforms that connect users with delivery services. These apps allow customers to place an order for food, groceries, or other products and have them delivered right to their doorstep. Some of the most popular on demand delivery apps include Uber Eats, DoorDash, Postmates, and Instacart.
One of the main advantages of on demand delivery apps is the convenience they offer. Customers can easily order what they need from their phone or computer, without having to leave their home or office. This is especially useful for people who have busy schedules or who may not have access to a car.
Another benefit of on demand delivery apps is the wide variety of options available. Users can choose from a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, and retailers, giving them a greater selection of products and services to choose from.
On demand delivery companies, on the other hand, are businesses that specialize in providing on demand delivery services. These companies typically have their own fleet of drivers and operate in specific areas or regions.
One of the advantages of using an on demand delivery company is the reliability of their services. These companies have a proven track record of delivering products and packages on time and in good condition. This is particularly important for businesses that rely on timely deliveries to maintain their operations.
In addition, on demand delivery companies often offer a range of delivery options, including same-day and next-day delivery. This flexibility can be particularly useful for businesses that need to get products to their customers quickly.
In conclusion, on demand delivery apps and companies have transformed the way people shop and receive goods and services. These platforms offer a level of convenience and flexibility that was once unimaginable, and are becoming an increasingly popular choice for people around the world.

How Instacart Became a Billion-Dollar Business

If there’s one industry that experienced huge growth during the pandemic, it’s eCommerce. When the pandemic shut down the whole world, consumers turned to digital platforms to purchase goods and have them delivered to their door. In fact, global eCommerce sales rose to $26.7 trillion in 2020, making up 19% of all retail sales (up from 16% in 2019).
Instacart is one of these highly successful platforms that helped the US and Canadian economies shift to online shopping on a massive scale during this global crisis. So, how exactly did the pandemic supercharge Instacart’s growth?
Let’s find out!
What is Instacart?
Instacart is a platform that allows you to shop for your groceries online. Instacart was popular even before the pandemic because of its unique business model.
The platform isn’t a grocery store itself. Instead, it allows you to shop from your local grocery stores and have things delivered to your doorstep in a timeframe of as little as two hours - which is why people found the platform so easy and convenient to use.
Instacart’s business idea is simple. Imagine you want to buy something from a specific store. You place your order through the app, a personal shopper is assigned, shops for you, and then drops all your stuff to your house - without you ever needing to go to the store yourself. Pretty cool, right?
Source
How Instacart Started and What Made it Unique
Instacart was founded in 2012 by Apoorva Mehta, a former Amazon employee, and his friends Max Mullen and Brandon Leonardo. Apoorva Mehta had tried and failed to launch 20 other startups before Instacart. These startups included specialized social networks and games, but none of them ever took off.
So, he was really taking a gamble with this one. Mehta came up with the idea of this online grocery delivery platform and submitted it to the Y Combinator - which is where he raised enough funds to launch it. Mehta coded the earliest version of the app himself and became the platform’s first-ever customer as well.
In 2015, Instacart became functional in San Francisco with around 200 employees - which included the company’s personal shoppers who could either work full-time or part-time.
The goal behind Instacart was to have people spend less time shopping for food and more time cooking it and enjoying it with their families. This is why, unlike most other online grocery services, Instacart focused on delivering their customers’ groceries within a couple of hours - and that was a game-changer for the new company.

Instacart Business Model
As far as its business model goes, Instacart works by partnering up with grocery stores and linking their personal shoppers with their customers.
The app works like any other standard retail app where you can add items to your cart and then check them out. Customers also have the option to pay through the app, which means that they never really have to come in contact with their personal shoppers either.
As far as competition is concerned, Instacart was directly competing with platforms like Amazon, Google Shopping Express, UberEats, and Postmates. Compared to all of these, Instacart paid its shoppers more, with earnings that reached $10 to $17 an hour plus tips.
How Does Instacart Make Money?
The platform makes money through a delivery fee, which comes to $5.99 on orders over $35 and $7.99 on orders under $35.
Users can also sign up for a premium service called Instacart Express, which costs $99 per year and offers you free delivery for all orders over $35.
Instacart’s Rise in Popularity
Ever since Instacart arrived on the scene, the company has been doing pretty well. It partnered up with stores like Whole Foods and Walmart, increasing its customer base in a big way. With this kind of growth, the platform was already on its way to become a ‘go-to’ service for American and Canadian consumers.
But, the Covid-19 pandemic really helped push things along. The business model for the platform allows you to shop for whatever you need without ever having to come in contact with anyone, right? This means it was perfectly suited for a time when all of us had to stay home to avoid spreading or catching the virus.
During the first few months of the pandemic, people also spent a lot of their time panic-shopping. Remember that fiasco where the entire country ran out of toilet paper? Back then, Instacart also became a platform for people to shop excessively from.

Instacart’s Revenue and Rapid Growth
Instacart’s revenue generation slowly saw a rise, increasing from $525 million in 2018 to $735 million in 2019. But, as soon as 2020 came around and the pandemic shut down the whole world, Instacart saw growth like no other.
Instacart reportedly generated $1.5 billion in revenue in 2020, with $35 billion worth of sales. At the same time, the company saw a rise in their personal shoppers. Because when people started losing their jobs, they saw Instacart as a great job opportunity as well as a quick way to make money.
Source
The platform added around 300,000 new shoppers in only the first half of 2020, and this number is only expected to increase in the coming months. The platform was reportedly recovering from a $300 million loss in 2019 when the pandemic struck, and the company made a profit of $10 million for the first time in April.
During the pandemic, Instacart’s overall share in the eCommerce market increased from only 8.9% to around 17.2% at the start of June 2020 - which once seemed like an impossible feat to achieve for a company that was as small as Instacart before the pandemic.
By October, Instacart had become the third most popular online grocery store in the US - right next to Walmart and Amazon. Currently, the company has over 500 retail partners, including names like 7-Eleven and Sephora, and it delivers from around 8000 store locations all over the USA and Canada. Not bad for a platform that only took off last year, right?
How Will Instacart Continue to Grow After the Pandemic?
The challenge for Instacart now is to make sure that customers keep coming back even after the panic from the pandemic has fully settled down.
One of the challenges Instacart faced straight after the lockdown was that their competitors like Amazon, who had already spent decades in the industry - already had a loyal customer base. Secondly, the company had to deal with a lot of their partner grocery stores shutting down - which directly affected their sales. When the pandemic started causing local businesses to go bankrupt, Instacart had to experience downsizing its services.
But, at the same time, the company has still been doing well in terms of its overall sales, which is why it spent a lot of its resources on optimizing its user experience. With the profits it has generated, Instacart is currently improving its services and allowing its grocery store partners to become more digitally effective to meet rising customer demands.
Instacart scaled out its infrastructure supporting its customer-facing app, shopper app, enterprise software, and advertising engine ahead of a 20% day-over-day growth trajectory. They also added features like allowing customers to view how many items were in stock to offer them predictability while increasing their order-taking capacity.
The company also pushed for features like contactless delivery and Mobile Checkouts — letting personal shoppers pay at store registers using Apple Pay or Google Pay. And all of this, of course, came with expanded pickup from more than 400 new store locations.
The company also worked on expanding its customer service team to 18,000 agents to cater to any sort of complaints. This user-centric approach has really helped Instacart take off and become a go-to shopping platform.

Source
How Much is Instacart Worth?
Currently, the company is valued at around $39 billion - making it one of the most successful digital platforms in the USA.
In 2020, Instacart started receiving millions of dollars in yet another funding round. Instacart has recently raised $265 million in funding from a series of venture firms to achieve its $39 billion valuation.
The company is also expanding into the advertising space. The platform offers valuable and unique granular shopping data to advertisers, such as how much someone spends on groceries and what products they buy. Instacart's goal is to reach $1 billion in ad sales in 2022 compared to the $300 million it generated last year.
To achieve this goal, they’ve hired top industry talent, including ex-Facebook exec Carolyn Everson, as their new president to set this digital transformation into motion while also increasing the diversity of females in leadership positions.

What Does the Future Look Like for Instacart?
As far as the future goes, Instacart will have to work on sustaining its customer base even when the lockdowns have been lifted. With 89% of users seeing Instacart as an essential service and 86% likely to keep using Instacart in the future, Instacart has the potential to continue growing in the coming years.
However, the company has to make sure that they maintain true to their core values—the speed of delivery and good customer service. Considering the fact that the company is going public very soon, the future for Instacart looks promising.

Source
Conclusion
Instacart is one of the most exciting digital platforms to follow right now. The company saw a massive boom in growth during the pandemic, and now they need to make sure that this growth is sustained.
Is Instacart the future of retail? Has the platform changed the way the world shops? And how will it continue to shake up the eCommerce space? Only time will reveal exactly how Instacart will continue to impact the world of retail, and how this billion-dollar business will continue to grow.
