Been really enjoying X-Men 97` and especially Morph

WOW…sooo, @maxfreeman456 informed me of X-Men ‘97 episode 3. So slight spoiler but, I’m not going to reveal the plot. I legit thought Wolverine and Morph were going to have just a buddy buddy relationship but, then we had the “Shower Scene”.

It’s not graphic, this is still Disney people but, yeah it’s definitely an “interesting” friendship.

Loser Logan

Here I am, making another unannounced appearance. lol

Of course you all know I've been watching X-men '97. Won't go too into my thoughts on it, but overall I'm enjoying the series. I must say Episode 5 was pretty intense. I rewatched the old X-men: TAS and I never realized how bad some of the animation was in that show. The new one is much more fluid. Wolverine hasn't done much but pine over Jean, but I'm glad to see them letting some of the other characters get more air time. And they brought Morph back, and even Bishop got to be on the team for a little while. I love seeing all the different characters that they've been having Morph transform into, and I'm hoping Kurt will be joining the team soon. Then Logan and him can go kick some ass! :D

Anyways, I managed to draw something. Tried to keep it close to the new animation style. You know I love those close relationships Logan has with others. <3

When you make a money bet on a pool game you had better make sure you actually have the money first, and now that he has lost Logan found he was a little short on cash. With the big lug being a general ass the whole game a buzzed Morph has come up with the perfect alternative; Loser gets tickled! For how long, Morph hasn't decided, but naturally mercy will be considered only after Logan is a nothing but a giggling, blubbering mess on the floor.

Logan always has said that Morph was the only one who could make him laugh. Don't think this is what he had in mind though. XD

So, episode 7 Twitter, half the posts are like: "How could Morph copy Quicksilver's powers? Impossible!" While the other half are like, "Morph and Wolverine definitely fuck"

Sorry to post on main about something so niche but the Morph/Logan shipping drama is so fascinating to me. I keep seeing people going “tumblr users people will take any platonic male friendship and turn it into a gay thing” which is like okay honestly valid callout!

But the thing is that what they’re doing with their dynamic in X-Men ‘97, at least in terms of how it’s being animated, is so different than what was happening in the original X-Men TAS. Like in the original, Morph and Logan did have a platonic male friendship that could possibly be read into as being gay. Like Morph was the person Logan could trust, they opened up to each other, and they had a kind of “tied together by the narrative”ness that was super compelling. Gay or not is neither here nor there.

But in ‘97 is just…feels so blatant?? Morph keeps giving Logan these long, soft looks for one thing, which was not in the OG. I posted about this before but they’re basically recreating the original X-Men TAS love triangle of Scott/Jean/Logan with Morph/Logan/Jean. Every time Morph comes up to Logan in a tender moment or tries to be intimate with him, Logan leaves him to find Jean. This is exactly what happened in the OG, except it was Logan coming up to Jean in tender moments and Jean leaving him to find Scott. This is without even mentioning the 1x03 shower scene, where Morph’s worst fear according to Sinister (who knows him considerably well) is finding Logan naked in the shower and Logan saying “I know how you feel.” Like????? I’m sorry but what are we supposed to do with that information?

Tl;dr Logan and Morph’s relationship is way gayer in X-Men ‘97 than it was in the original X-Men TAS and acting like that’s not true is silly
