Ludus 5

What seduction techniques are most likely to be effective when it comes to your OC? Are there some things guaranteed to get them going? Or are they immune to such things?

Recently I’ve been firming up my hc that he’s demisexual. He talks a big game and likes to pretend he’s interested in sex, but it’s all another deflection technique. In reality he’s had no more than one or two subpar experiences and thinks of sex transactionally until he gets with Siavash and then suddenly there’s a whole new world opening up. He’s immune to it up until then, and then… pretty much anything works. The most effective techniques are things that put him at ease and make him feel safe enough to be vulnerable: comforting touches, kind words, reassurances. He’s a complete sucker for guitar music too.

Pragma 4

After the initial fires of passion cool to some degree, what would keep your OC engaged in a relationship? Shared goals? Similar values? Or contented companionship?

This is the source of some confusion for him and Siavash after the game story (avoiding spoilers by not saying what exactly). They experiment a lot, in some cases too much, in the hope of keeping the flame alive. They share the same goals and values (the Project, for those who know), but contentment is the enemy. So there’s a lot of thrill-seeking and boundary-testing at first, but eventually they settle on orbiting one another at a not-too-comfortable distance, fully committed but not joined at the hip like they were during the Crusades. They’re at their best when adventuring and getting up to shenanigans together. That does seem to stoke the flames of passion pretty reliably.

Philautia 4

Which of your OC's qualities makes them the most proud? Do they think more people should be like them in this regard? Or do they quite like being rare in possessing it?

Aw, this is a tough one for Woljif, who again talks a big game as a way of deflecting and hiding his lack of a sense of self-worth. (As we know and love him.) He’s not entirely unaware that he’s quicker on the uptake than a lot of people around him, though. Obviously a useful trait in a conman, being two steps ahead of everybody. And as a child the only praise he ever received, albeit begrudging, was when he picked up spells with remarkable ease. He's also proud of having come up from nothing and having built up his street-smarts and survival skills. Unfortunately he’s internalized the message that people like him are trash, so there’s another side to that coin – he’s proud when it comes to other “lowlifes” like him, but it also makes him feel even more like an outcast in the company of Crusader-types.

Some time ago I was crying dramatically into my pillow talking with @wonda-ch about Ryder's PR team (me) failing miserably while building his image and that there's more to him than the confident and horny asshole act.

There's soft and insecure side too, confused and full of doubts, side not many know.

Isore has a very distinct way of viewing the world and with it comes a rather manipulative and cold personality. He is whatever people need him to be so that his own goals can be furthered in the long run, and most of his relationships are with the personas that he's constructed. He can get very attached despite himself, and with that comes possessive obsession.

21 - Collapse

The words on the page become unfocused, the light not quite so bright as the tiefling fights off a yawn despite not wanting to put down her pen from her work. Between one yawn and the next, she finds her head tipping down to the expanse of the Hall's meeting table, her forearm as a pillow and her lashes drifting lower and lower.

The commander nearly jerks to full consciousnesses when someone lifts her out of the chair to carry her princess style out of the room and through the hallway. However, it's only for a moment. The weight of her lashes feel so heavy and the warmth of the body feels so good, she doesn't fight.

Fingers brush over a warm scaled shoulder and the tiefling smiles and continues to smile as she's carried to her room, to her bed, and finds herself placed in the middle of it. It's almost instantly a body presses to her right side, seeking her warmth, an aasimar's face pressed against her neck.

The last thing Kadira remembers before falling asleep is the shift of weight in the bed, and a second body is pressed to her left side, touching her face gently with warm human hands as covers are drawn over them all, soft and safe.

40 - Pet

Their sleeping arrangement settled into two variants: Kadira or Daeran occupy the middle of the bed (Lann won't because he's worried about his horn).

Tonight it was Daeran's turn with Lann pressed against his form and Kadee curled up besides him, her tail tangled between their legs.

The count keeps his vigil despite twice the comfort and intimacy surround him, when suddenly a shape lands on the bed with a thump, causing his heart to leap to his throat.

He watches in the darkness as that delicate shape crawls on top of Kadira (who snores so softy) to survey the room.

The shape meows.

Without hesitation, Tiger pads off the tiefling to sit on Daeran's chest, turning once, then twice, in a circle before curling on top of the blonde man and begins to purr loudly.

Sourly, the aasimar finds he would rather deal with his otherworldly parasites in this moment as he stares ruefully at the cat.

In response, Tiger tucks his head under Daeran's chin, continuing to purr for the rest of the night.

How about Lenarius/Leonosa x Nenio? 👀

Ooh fun!

I don't even know how to start with this one. Len does not like being belittled, and his/her tendency to take things literally/personally does not mesh well with Nenio's obliviousness. If they can get past that, there are things to build a relationship on (intelligence, curiosity). However, Len is more of a courtier than a scientist, and most of his interests are in things Nenio wouldn't be interested in. S/he would actually be hurt by Nenio forgetting things about him/her.

I will say one thing, a lot of Len's journey from Aeon to Legend is about how s/he starts to realize that s/he is his/her own person, and not just a machine that lives to serve others. If they somehow make it to this point, Leonosa would be furious at Areshkagal and do everything s/he can to get Nenio out of her slump afterwards, letting Nenio know that she is special and unique and to stop this nonsense at once.

Yay!! just finished 6 Sidesteps by others in my style :)

I tried to draw them all differently, give them individual vibes, just the way how each of the Sidesteps are unique in their own ways. I am very happy how all pieces turned out and how nicely they all look in one place.

@westealtoys' Ryder Becker: oh this guy has a special place in my heart, I absolutely enjoyed to give him this cheeky alluring mood with that bitten lip, just the way I see him in my mind <3

@danielsullivan Walter Luna: oh my... I just LOVE his style, dude looks absolutely amazing in this grungy looks, and I felt like this slightly bored, judging all face expression suits him well :'D

@wonda-ch David Kingsley: I still feel that I need to know him better, but from what I saw about him, he gave me gentle, dreamy vibe. And when I got to know that David plays piano, okay, it suits this image even more. <3

@alaraxia Vesper Becerra: I really like how she is often pictured in lightly humorous situations, and looks always not impressed or tired, or maybe both, and when I saw her character sheet that she possibly doesn't like to take pictures at all, I guess this could be her mood when someone tried to picture her. :D

@capricule Cyrus Becker: that piece of Cyrus in front of the mirror was memorable to me, I really liked the palette used in that piece so I borrowed some of the colours for my portrait of him too. I don't know much about Cyrus, but I really like how you picture him. That simple clothing, small stubble on his face, massive scar going through his nose and cheek - all these details give me an impression of deeply struggling, lost soul. </3

@punkranger's Antoine Duman: he was one of the first Sidesteps I saw when I joined Fallen Hero fandom and since then I was always impressed by his unique punk style. Antoine clearly knows how to leave a memorable impression. :)

I have a few writings but I guess the ones that are closest to being done (i say then pop something else out) are:

Wincing, there’s no smile as she speaks this time “shit—sorry—ow, Oro please.” Her hands twitch at her sides, gripping the white silk sheets, resisting the urge to come up and stop you ¨can—May I touch you—please” it comes out muffled and rushed in one breath, her face still pressed flush to your hip, your hold hasn’t loosened in the slightest.

And you could stop there—you got what you wanted…but something is coiling itself at the pit of your stomach—something that has your hand flexing, stomach acid feels like it wants to climb up your throat, you swallow down the warm watery saliva almost gagging at the amount and you twist her fisted hair. A few strands snapping in your hold. One of Julia’s hands comes to rest at your thigh—nails digging in—and you have half a mind to pull her off you. That’s not allowed. But then a haggard and desperate sound escapes her.

”stop”

You immediately let go of her.

When she looks up at you, you can’t help but feel a little agitated at her state—at the clear bruise that’s forming on her jaw, the shine in her dark eyes.

And:

“You judge me Marshal?” Marcos smiles, “I hope you realize I could do the same with the amount of accommodations your little dog has”

“Except I’m pretty sure the last time I saw you, you were the one bringing my little dog, a raincoat and the gourmet treats” he deadpans. But Marcos can easily make out the way the edge of his lips twitch, the way he’s barely holding back a smile.

Marcos can feel the heat rise to his cheeks, “I—I…don’t think I recall that”

“Really? Becau—“

Before he can get another word in Marcos breaks, “I think we should drop the subject Marshal”

And when the smile finally breaks across Chen's face he can’t help but look away embarrassed.

“Of course. If that’s what you want Marcos” although his tone is serious—devoid of any teasing, the way his smile lifts at the corner into more of a smirk certainty is not.

Marcos keeps his eyes purely on the plant. “It is”

Thanks Wonda!! It's good to hear from you 💕💕West Wind is the sequel to Wandering Stars. I’m stuck on it for the moment because it involves tragedy I’m not always strong enough to write. I have written some of the less tragic parts, at least in first draft form, so here’s a bit:

uhhh what do I even got?

The wound will heal but the poison makes everything slow, sluggish. No, not everything, just you, and that realization sits heavy in your gut. You need to find someplace to shelter in, to rest and recover. The mouth of the sea cave opens like a prayer. Or a grave. Beggars can’t be choosers. Your bare feet splash through the shallow, icy water. Too late to mourn another pair of shoes ruined but you hadn’t planned on needing to transform so suddenly. At least most of your clothes are still intact, if worse for wear. Not to mention the blood, only some of it is yours.

A bit of monster au shenanigans (Isa's POV) before I was caught in the stranglehold of OC Kiss Week.

What do you think of Kadira and Woljif?👀

Send me an OC + an alternate love interest for them and I’ll tell you what I think of the idea

I was always a little uncertian about these two as a romantic couple. One, I feel that @turbulentpumpkin43 and @dujour13 write Woljif so well that I fear I might steal something or not be as good! Two, they didn't have a lot of interaction because they over lapped so much in my first go around until I figured out how to play. Third, I've not played his romance! Fourth… I try not to over indulge. :x

I think it would be an interesting romance between them after some misunderstandings. Kadira is accused as a 'token tiefling' in Act 2, though Woljif doesn't realize her behavior is influneced in less by having the majority love her, and her wanting not become something literal demons have taunted her about. I've not written it, though I've thought about it, but I have a headcanon that Kadira files her horns (a la Hellboy). It was never meant to fit in, but her family worried how she'd sleep on her back or her sides and were relieved she couldn't feel pain and they could grow back. So they filed them to the base and Kadee grew them out into little horns. I feel Woljif had a knee jerk reaction and she reacted right back.

I think, though, when Kadira saves him, Woljif could latch onto her a little bit and find out for all her wisdom, she's naive in interpersonal relationships - and he is too! That might make the intimating factor she has a little less so. They hang around a bit more, they talk more about their respective parents and grandparents, and Kadira confides more about Areelu to him. Woljif might have an awful grandma, but Kadee had an awful foster mom.

I feel they begin to acknowledge romantic feelings around Act 4, after Woljif nearly loses himself to his grandfather and Kadira almost fights alone in Battlebliss. Even then, I think it's something incredibly slow and doesn't become physical with admission to love until… Act 6? I think it can be terribly sweet and could work, Woljif allows Kadira to be more comfortable with her inexperience and Woljif learns that love is given and not earned.

And that's why you should treasure it.

This time tried something experimental, to give heavy creepy vibe, as Heartbreak incident scene was. Hopefully I succeeded to create that mood at least a bit?

Update: after listening to this track, my lovely friend @wonda-ch described it exactly how I felt it (though I couldn't find words myself). I won't miss a chance to share it:

'At the beginning I got in my head how they walk up the stairs after Themmy's death. Each step with so much depressed weight. Then the voice kicks in (dreamlike) Sidestep enters the room and loses control of the situation.'
