As you bask in the remaining warmth of the setting sun, your tail swished back and forth in content, feeling the steady purring coming from your boyfriend's chest on your cheek as you lay on him.

Your boyfriend's hand slowly went from your waist to your head, stroking your hair before scratching behind your ear, purring into his chest, you nuzzle closer to him, taking in the scent of his cologne.

"I could get used to cuddling with you like this forever." You say with a sigh of content, you could make out the sound of his heart beating from behind the vibrations of his purrs, you also hear a chuckle coming from his chest.

"Me too," he pauses, taking a big breath of air through his nose before continuing to speak, "Let's spend all of our 9 lives together?"

He said, as cheesy, as that sounded, nothing seemed better than living out your days with the love of your lives.

"Yeah, let's spend our 9 lives together."

Wonwoo’s day started like any other day. He woke up in the morning to his alarm, stared at the ceiling for a solid 10 minutes dreading the idea of getting up to go on a run, and then proceeded to get out of bed to get ready for said dreaded run. He wasn’t necessarily a morning person so his morning routine was just that - a routine. A cycle he went through mindlessly every day so that he could at least get his day started. 

There wasn’t much special to this particular day; the air was a little crispy as the fall was coming in so he settled for a pair of black sweatpants and a thin grey sweater to get him through him morning run. Walking through the apartment he waved to his roommate who just got back from the gym, grabbed his headphones, keys, and phone from the counter, and walked out the door. 

Part of his daily morning routine was to walk over to the forested area of the park for his stretches before he ran 5 laps around the park. Normally this would take him about an hour. 

Bopping his head to the music in his headphones he was about to start running when he felt something brush up against him. He quickly ripped off his headphones and jumped out of the way. The park was not unfamiliar to some wildlife, so fearing that he was about to become a squirrel’s next victim he jumped on a nearby picnic bench and looked back. 

What he found was a curious small black cat looking back at him, confused as to why its new friend ran away. Wonwoo sat there for a second. Well for longer than a second. He sat there for a bit. He stared at the cat. The cat stared back. This was suddenly: the best day ever. 

“Aren’t you a little guy, come here pspspspsps” Wonwoo said putting on his best cat-attracting voice. He slowly got down from the picnic table and bent down to try to look safe enough to attract the cat over. With his hand slightly out for the cat to sniff, the cat cautiously approached with his nose to the tip of Wonwoo’s finger. After a preliminary sniff, the cat moved closer to Wonwoo for a full and loving pet. 

Overjoyed, Wonwoo didn’t move from his current position and gave the adorable black cat all the pets and scratches he requested. The cat walked back and forth, rubbing against Wonwoo’s leg and purring.

After a good 5 minutes of getting many pats, the cat decided it was time to move on and with a final rub against Wonwoo’s leg, walked further into the park. 

Watching the cat leave, feeling slightly betrayed, Wonwoo decided that his daily routine was going to look a little different today. He turned his music off, put his headphones around his neck, and started following the cat.

Along this journey he was worried that the cat was going to accidentally hurt itself or cause trouble on the roads, but this cat was surprisingly aware of everything. He paused and looked both ways before crossing the street and was sure to take clear paths. Everytime the cat stopped, Wonwoo tried to reach down and pet the cat again, but the cat had other ideas and started to walk away again. 

After a good 20 minute walk the cat turned into a little neighbourhood and began doing a little cat run towards a specific house. Rather than running up to the front door, the cat decided to rest on the steps leading up to the house. Taking this as a sign to pet the cat, Wonwoo sat next to it and finally got a second chance to pet the furry little guy. 

Both Wonwoo and the cat enjoyed this little serene moment until it was broken by a loud voice, “George, oh my goodness, there you are!” 

Hearing a voice coming from the door that the stairs lead to, both Wonwoo and the cat jumped up and watched where the voice came from. 

The cat walked towards the voice, snuggling up to the person, where as Wonwoo kind of just froze. 

You were opening the door to leave for the store to pick up some groceries but in your way you found the cat that forgot to return home last night, and… a man? 

You and Wonwoo kind of looked at each other for a solid minute until Wonwoo finally decided to say something, “His name is George?”

“...yea.” 

“That’s fun. I found him in the park, he’s very nice.” 

“Thank you.”

The exchange was painfully awkward, but what was not being said spoke louder for both of you. You found a cute boy sitting outside of your home and you wanted to ask him a million questions but didn’t know where to start. Where as Wonwoo accidentally stumbled across the house of a cute person and was too shy to possibly talk to them.

“Um also thank you for finding George! I thought he was lost so thank you for bringing him home!” You said with a smile. 

“Honestly he brought me here,” Wonwoo said kinda nervously with a chuckle, “he’s really cute so kind of just followed him.” 

You looked at the man in awe at how he just mindlessly followed a little creature around town. The thought of that happening made you laugh in which Wonwoo eventually joined you in. 

“Well thank you regardless, do you want to come in for a warm drink? I don’t know how long you’ve been out but it’s a little cold out today.” 

Deciding that today couldn’t be more out of the ordinary, Wonwoo threw all caution to the wind and agreed to come in. Following you and the cat into the home, he is met with a cozy little house. 

You walk over to the kitchen and turn on the kettle to warm up some water. “Tea or coffee?” 

“Coffee please.” Wonwoo said watching you move around the house. Not wanting to intrude more than he already has, he decided to sit down on the floor and pet George as he sat on a little door mat. 

You watch the strange man sit next to your cat and pet it and wonder many things about him, but right now it was mostly about his name. “I realize now I forgot to introduce myself,” you let him know your name before asking him for his. 

“Wonwoo,” he says with a smile before looking over to George again. 

“Well Wonwoo, it’s very nice to meet you, I’m sure George would say the same. He’s usually not this friendly with people so this is a nice surprise.” 

“Oh really?” His attention shifts over to you again. “He was really nice and friendly the whole time.” He looks over at the cat who is now purring, enjoying the scratches behind the ear. 

Wonwoo takes a look around the house from his spot on the floor and notices the controllers sitting on the couch. “Do you play?” 

You look over to where he is looking and chuckle, “Yeah my brother and I play, do you play?” 

“Yeah I do! That’s awesome!” Wonwoo finally gets up from his spot against the wishes of George and walks over to your collection of games. 

He starts to look through the titles as you join him in the living room. “I have these and I have a few more on my PC, mostly just League though.” He looks up at you and looks at you in awe. You are unsure what made this happen but you just smile at him. 

“Wanna duo?”

You’re at the store, repeatedly reading over the texts Wonwoo sent as you go through your grocery list. “I swear if that man got another cat…” You mutter to yourself, grabbing a few cans of canned tuna. You run to the checkout, quickly buying everything so you can head home, continuing to grumble under your breath as you pack the groceries in your car. You quickly drive home, wondering what you’ll see when you get there.

Grabbing the groceries and heading up the stairs of your apartment building, you open the door and call for your boyfriend. “Wonwoo!” You say, setting the grocery bags on the countertop in the kitchen before going to look for him.

“C’mon Buldak, we can do it. This boss is just a little harder than the last level.” You hear your boyfriend mumbling from his game room.

“What the…” You open the door to see your boyfriend, sitting in front of his computer. His hoodie is on backwards, and a small black, orange, and white bundle of fur is sitting in the hood, Wonwoo’s chin resting gently on it. “Wonwoo?”

Wonwoo finally hears you, turning his head to see you, causing a huge grin to break out on his face. “Baby!”

“Wonwoo, my darling, my love, my sweet, is that another cat?” You ask, trying to act serious.

“Perhaps,” He smiles, taking the kitty gently out of the hood and holding it in front of you. “His name is Buldak.”

“Buldak?” You ask, a small smile on the corner of your lips.

“He looks like a buldak packet! Look! Black, orange, white!” He says enthusiastically.

“Well you’re not wrong,” You smile. “Where did you find him?”

“On the side of the road,” He shrugs. “I picked him up, took him to get shots, and decided he can be our son.”

“You didn’t even check to see if he had tags or anything?” You ask, a little exasperated.

“He had nothing!” Wonwoo insists. “He was all dirty and stuff, too…”

“We already have a daughter-“ You say, motioning to the white cat sitting gracefully on your shared bed.

“I know!” He smiles. “Even better, he and Marie get along great! She’s been really nice! Cuddling and licking him…” He says fondly.

You want to be stern with him and tell him that you have reservations about having another cat, but the pure joy on his face makes your resolve crumble.

“You already really love him, huh?” You mumble, walking up to the kitten in his arms and petting his head, feeling his soft fur.

“I do, Y/N, I really do.” He says softly, looking up at you with pleading eyes.

“Do you think we can take care of another cat?” You ask, softly voicing your concerns.

“Yes!” He nods. “I’ll take care of him! I uh… I might have already ordered everything he needs…so expect a lot of packages over the next few days.”

You smile, tilting his chin up so he can look at you. “You and your kitties…” You murmur, an amused smile on your face. You lean down and press a soft kiss to his forehead.

“So…can we keep him?” Wonwoo asks softly.

You chuckle, picking up Buldak from Wonwoo’s arms and cradling him to your chest, as Marie rubs herself against your legs affectionately. “I guess one more wouldn’t hurt.”

omg Seungcheol would get heart eyes everytime a stray cat came up to you and rubbed up against you. You both would be doing your daily late night walk and an orange tabby would run straight to you you would drop Seungcheol's hand just to give the tabby some attention. Even though Seungcheol would fake pout everytime you chose a cat over his hand, he found it so precious how soft you were with cats and vice versa.

ღ Jeonghan:

When you first told Jeonghan cats loved you, he thought you were all talk. He didn't realize how true it was until one came up to you after one of your dates and just rubbed up on you. He jokingly called you a Disney Princess and it honestly was the best and most real compliment you have ever received. Whenever a cat ever came up to you, he would laugh in disbelief but he would love the fact that animals loved you just as much as he did.

ღ Joshua:

The majority of Jisoo's camera roll was with you and cats. You often would joke with each other that if you had to choose between cats vs him, you would choose cats. While that was not true in the slightest, Jisoo still would "respect" his place. There would be times where he would have to be voice of reason when you would want to take a new kitten or cat home which would be bittersweet but you would know he was right.

ღ Jun:

As a cat as well, Jun would completely understand why cats loved you. You were so calm and cute so it just makes sense. When cats would walk up to you, he swore he fell in love with you even more especially as you would crouch down and coo at them. He found it to be such a green flag that you were so good with animals.

ღ Hoshi:

Tell me why he'd be jealous of a cat? Not actually "jealous jealous" but would be like "yah, get your own partner. (y/n) is mine." He found it amusing whenever it happened because not only was the cats completely enamored by you but you also were. You would coo and would make up "back stories" about each cat that came up to you. If you ever saw the same cat twice, Soonyoung would be like "Oh yeah, it's Frederick the Third who really loves mischief and belly rubs" which would make you laugh because he remembered the back story. He would never admit it, but finding cats on your evening walks was the highlight of his day.

ღ Wonwoo:

tbh, the cats would be coming up to BOTH of you constantly. Something about Wonwoo and you just radiated such peace that cats just knew. You both found it a bit comical but also super wholesome that it happened as often as it did. If it ever happened when you weren't together, you both would either take a picture or FaceTime the other. Honestly, it would always make you both talk about adopting a cat together one day. Both of you would always get excited about the thoughts of making future plans like that together <3

ღ Woozi:

Similarly to Jeonghan, Jihoon would have some doubts about your claims of being a "cat magnet." He knocked the first few times as a "coincidence" but after awhile, he realized you were right. He found it so precious and would smirk when he would see an adorable four legged friend stretch before running up to both of you. He'd find it precious seeing you smile wide as you stared at a skittish cat that got nervous when Jihoon crouched down next to you too look at the kitten that decided to walk up to you. You would softly tell the kitten that Jihoon's muscles were all for show and he was a softie which would cause him to scoff and make mental note to show you how much "for show" they were later on.

ღ DK:

Seokmin would find it hilarious when you would just be walking and a cat would just be following close behind you begging for your attention with 'meows' and purrs. You would just give him a look of "I told you so," before playing with the kitten that so desperately wanted your attention. He found it so precious that he would film it and send it to both the 97 group chat and Seventeen group chats. His friends would be so jealous at your talents with cats and would ask you constantly for tips on how to get random cats to love you which would just make Seokmin feel so proud lol.

ღ Mingyu:

Mingyu was shocked when he realized it was not just cats and him that were obsessed with you. Whenever you both went on a walk together animals would ALWAYS come up to you. It could be cats, dogs, or even a crow. You would always mimic the noises of the animals and the animals would just act so happy that you were communicating with them. Honestly, it made him fall more in love with you.

ღ Minghao:

You know his infamous giggle? The bestest giggle in this whole wide world? Well it would star when you both would hear meows from behind you and noticed your charms worked on a grey long haired cutie. You would coo at the kitty and Minghao would coo at you. He found this sight to be the cutest thing EVER. He would take pictures and would even name the cats with you. For instance, this gray kitty y'all just found was named "Jinkies."

ღ Seungkwan:

Seungkwan would be flabbergasted that his partner was some character from a Disney movie. He would find it absolutely precious when he would see cats run up and look at you when you went on walks with each other. He often would find it funny because half the time you would get 'tired' of this talent you had. Sometimes you wanted to just enjoy time with him and when a cat came up, you just had to pet the kitty and ignore your busy man. It would make you feel guilty but he would always reassure you that it was okay.

ღ Vernon:

The first time it happened, he thought it was a freak occurrence. As did you. In fact, it was with Hansol when you realized you were the cat whisperer. It would be weird if a cat did NOT come up to you when you both on your nights. He would laugh if you got sulky because you didn't see an four legged friend on your walk. He would tease you that you were "losing your touch" which would cause you to roll your eyes and playfully push him.

ღ Dino:

Chan swore you had catnip or tuna in your pockets because there was just no way. So before your went on a walk, you emptied both of your pockets to prove him wrong. When he was satisfied you both left and ironically three damn cats showed up on your walk. He would be so flabbergasted and would laugh his infamous laugh. You would tell him it's a sign and you both should get a furbaby child soon which he would agree.

with the sound of your camera shutter, wonwoo perks up the slightest bit.

it wasn't the first time you'd 'sneakily' tried to take a picture of him. he didn't mind it when it was you, though, since he'd always get to see the way you smiled to yourself like you were trying to get away with something. he looks over, watching you as you smiled at your phone, tapping away without a care.

"are you changing your background again?"

"mmmhm." you didn't look up, smiling to yourself again.

"can i see?"

after a moment, you stretch your arm over to him, screen facing him as he saw a picture over himself curled up at his end of the couch, controller in hands. you had drawn little lines right where two strands of his hair flicked up, illustrating the fact that it looked like cat ears even further. he laughs, always so warm and endeared by you and your cat agenda (this is far from the first time you've drawn cat ears onto him).

"cute, right?" you ask with that same, mischievous smile on your face.

"you are," he says as though he's agreeing with you, settling back into his spot.

(he'll snap a picture of you later and draw cat ears onto it, too, just so the two of you have matching backgrounds.)
