OMG OMG OMG!!! I absolutely loveee your writing, the first time I read heartbreak was on my way to work and I was hooked! I’ve read all your works (save for Seungkwan’s part of the series because it’s been so hectic) and I’ve been in love ever since 😭😭😭 your stories just draw me in and I can’t help but have a physical reaction to them!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I just wanted to mention that when I read chapter 3 of wicked games, I completely neglected to read the pairings and warnings - I was too excited - that I got the shock of my life when Wonwu broke bro code (lol 😅)
I look forward to reading the rest of WG and all your other works!
PS this is my first ever ask so… yeah 😅 sorry if it’s giving “awkwarrrd” 🤭😅
hi baby!!
i'm so honored to be your first ask ever!! 🩵 thank you. and no, it's not giving awkward, you're very sweet 🥹🥹
thank you so so much for this! 😭😭😭 thank you for reading my fics! hehe 🩵🫂🫂

down, down the rabbit hole
pairings: none, but the characters include mingyu. wonwoo, jihoon, jeonghan (from svt) and an oc
genre(s): thriller, gore (tiny bit). a made-in-abyss!au :D
warnings: because of the previously mentioned gore, readers discretion is advised. also swearing!
word count: 4.06k words
synopsis: in which mingyu and his friends allow their naivety and curiosity to drive them forward, dropping them down a 20,000 metre abyss where the abnormal becomes far too evident. stumbling through nature’s phenomenon, the group is forced to experience horrors that sombre their once exhilarating endeavours. will they be able to be decisive when their friend’s life is on the line, and who is this red-eyed creature that promises them sanctuary?
author’s note: hey guys! unfortunately, this isn’t the genshin au i promised however i hope you enjoyed it nonetheless! i believe i published this a while ago on another account but i’m posting it again for content <3 also it was originally a y/n piece so please tell me if there’s a “you” or “your” that i’ve missed in my brief editing!  the genshin au will come out soon :)
Tumblr media
mingyu struggled to pinpoint an exact moment in his life which he could blame for his current circumstances.
it was as easy for him to say that sneaking into his good friends wonwoo and jihoon’s room past the stroke of midnight was the cause, as it were to say growing up at his local orphanage was at fault. hell, if the reasoning travelled down this path, it could also be justified that by simply existing he’d cause himself to arrive at his current position. perhaps this was his destiny, every event of his life leading up to this climax, worthless in the grand scheme of fate for every decision he had believed to have made was manipulated for the sole purpose of mingyu in the situation he was in as of present; torn with the constant conflict of emotion he was experiencing.
this was where his life had led him, 20,000 metres deep into a swirling, unforgiving vortex where the abnormal became evident with every blink of the eye, and where it intended to end, it seemed.
the sky overhead had vanished from sight two layers into the unnatural phenomenon, when the fog by their feet had thickened to a substance that clung moist against every vulnerable patch of skin and surface. mingyu never thought he would come to miss the cloudy skies of his mediocre hometown. where had his thirst for adrenaline gone now? but after a tormenting week treading deeper and deeper into the abyss’ claws, mingyu had yearned for familiarity.
when his stomach gave way on the third layer, mingyu missed most the plain bowl of congee the orphanage served to him every morning despite its lack of taste and colour.
when his eyes started to leak pus and blood, mingyu missed most the shimmering sun, burning on the edge of the horizon every evening despite its glare on his skin.
there was much the boy felt grateful for, oh how he only came to this realisation now, 20,000 metres far from home. his goal to reach the very depth of the abyss slipped from his hands like running water, gathered only by the company his friends provided him. mingyu never felt more grateful that he hadn’t entered alone.
if his naivety had gotten away from him yet again, mingyu shivered at the prospect of descending without the companionship of his three closest friends, wonwoo, jihoon and lyra. he never sourced his complaints outside of his head, for every disaster that he experienced, he knew his friends experienced the same suffering alongside him, comfort in the form of unspoken understanding. mingyu knew he would be able to overcome these mishaps as long as their companionship never left him.
however, god’s sense of humour must be twisted for the first night of the fifth layer, the last layer of mingyu’s sanity thinned.
“fuck!” jihoon swore. his hand shook in the tangles of his hair, the other hovering over wonwoo’s body as if uncertain. “fuck, fuck, fuck!”
mingyu heard jihoon’s cursing as if submerged underwater for his head went static from his own worry. he tipped his backpack upside down in desperation, seeking an item his sub-conscious knew didn’t exist. hadn’t they packed an antidote for this specific reason? but it had been long gone, shattered and spilt over the edge of a crumbling cliff after a desperate struggle of power between a gnarly beast and mingyu’s life. that mistake could possibly cost his friend’s life.
lyre caressed wonwoo’s hair as his head laid like deadweight on her lap, mouth dry against the dense air, chest heaving harsh pants. his eyes, heavily diluted, seemed to stare past her head at empty space and lyre may have lost all hope had it not been for the ghost of determination underlining the furrow of his brows. “wonwoo, i swear you’ll be okay, just hold on a little longer. mingyu’s getting the antidote now, he’s just a little slow. you know how clumsy he can get, just hang on, okay?”
but wonwoo had stopped giving replies ten minutes ago.
her hands, like her voice, trembled under the weight of a moist cloth, aiming to replace the steaming one on his head but fear diverted its path with every shake. doubt threatened to choke her of her words, leaving lyre curled up by the side of the abnormal rainforest, the world never viewed the same again. but she knew, if not marginally, that panic wouldn’t do the situation any more good.
jihoon seemed to have lost all sense of this concept however, as he continued to alternate between standing and pacing the grounds. “there has to be something i’ve forgotten, something that can help. think, jihoon, think!”
wonwoo hissed in pain then, and all three of his friends turned in fright. his arm had swelled to an abnormal size, pulsing liquid under his skin and shaded a dark purple.
“jihoon.” lyre called after the boy had settled, voice wavering. “wasn’t there something we learnt at school? something about the poison of []’s?”
“i know there was something, i know! but i can’t remember it!” jihoon let his words explode from his chest yet he heeds no apology. “damn it, what was it?” his eyes found mingyu across the field, still digging through the contents of their shared bags. “for fuck’s sake, leave the fucking bags, mingyu! they’re worthless right now.”
mingyu glanced up from his own world of regret and doubt, torment swimming in the pools of his eyes. the situation looked hopeless no matter what angle he portrayed it in. and, this had been his fault. his own carelessness, his naivety had prompted the death of his best friend. why hadn’t he listened to them all when they told him to step back from the pond? what had his mind been doing, telling him to continue his reckless behaviour just for the short lived praise he might have received? he had been pushed to the side when the lone [ ] had arrived at the scene, a creature so foreign and unknown that fear had short-circuited his actions.
he had stood frozen in the line of danger, horror encasing his body in suffocating crystals. it was wonwoo that had moved first, wonwoo who had considered all possible options which led him to sacrifice his own body for mingyu’s, wonwoo that had thrown himself at the creature, mingyu’s life and not his own being the only thing weighing on hid mind.
what had his last words been? the thought dawned on mingyu, like a nostalgic taste on the tip of his tongue. “don’t sulk, you look super dumb?” no, there was something else. something of potential importance, yet it mocked his grasp when he neared the truth. wonwoo’s whines of pain sounded as background noise at the point of his pondering, so familiar and yet gruelling at the pits of his stomach.
“something…” he mumbled, and lyre and jihoon looked up at the sound of his voice. “wonwoo said something before he couldn’t speak, what was it?”
“is this really the time?” jihoon snapped. “this isn’t the time.”
“jihoon, shut up. there was something he said before he became like this. i have a feeling he was trying to tell us how to deal with the situation.”
lyre turned her head from mingyu to the pale boy in her lap, a concentrated look evident in the crease between her eyebrows. mingyu caught the movement from the corner of his eye and clicked his finger at her. “lyre, you were the closest to him at the time. do you remember what it was?”
at the sudden spotlight, her mind blanked. there had been something previously, but the thought taunted and danced around the perimeter of her head as she tried, and failed, to chase it. “his arm, he mentioned something about his arm.” she finally blurted, his voice entering her head.
jihoon practically growled at the words. “well geez, that solves everything, doesn’t it? thanks for wasting our time, mingyu.” both mingyu and lyre took no offense to his harsh words; someone had to be the angry one in the current situation. lyre continued that train of thought, blocking out the noise of jihoon’s ranting, mingyu’s mumbling and wonwoo’s whimpers. she hoped that fate wouldn’t be so cruel as to give her this sliver of hope, thin and feeble in her hands, and that the solution to this dawning terror would be solved with the following revelation. “breaking something… he mentioned breaking something. what was it? a tree branch? true, the antidote of a beast should be found around the region so that its prey may survive from its poison. otherwise, the ecosystem would fail. but which tree? in this rainforest, what tree are we talking about. breaking apart… a bug? another small mammal? no, you wouldn’t break something with flesh, you would break something that’s hard. breaking… like snapping? breaking…”
jihoon continued to pace around you and wonwoo, head spinning in constant agony. there was fault coloured in the pale flush of his cheeks, why didn’t he know how to solve this issue? why didn’t he pull mingyu aside when the monster had first showed itself? and worse, why hadn’t he been the one to risk his life? why had he froze, selfish in the way that he valued his life over his dear friend’s, opting instead to leave someone else to do the harsh deed. why hadn’t he moved and pull wonwoo who laid by his feet out of harm’s way, instead standing still and letting the monster take a fierce chomp out of wonwoo’s arm? there was no doubt that if he had successfully performed the manoeuvre, wonwoo wouldn’t be in the position he was in now.
his feet crunched against a fallen stick as he paced and the noise triggered a thought in lyre’s head, her eyes widening in disbelief as it all clicked together.
“oh my god, his arm.” she murmured.
jihoon goes to quieten her, goes to tell her to stop obsessing over the idea of his arm when a tear slips from her eyes. the sheer terror from the thought evoked strong pulses of emotion to leak from lyre’s eyes like bleeding cyanide, but she pushed through regardless. how selfish would it be to only think of yourself whilst your friend suffered on the brink of death?
she looked jihoon in the eyes and repeated herself. “his arm. he wants us to snap his arm before the poison reaches his brain.”
lyre gave the boys no time to digest this new sliver of information, working instead to tear off a section of your shirt and wrapping it tightly where the poison had evidently stopped on his arm, black and purple, budging skin pressed against the material. in truth, lyre had no idea what she was doing, simply relying on memory and the many shows she’d watched to guide her movements as she tightened the knot.
the still silence broke when mingyu began to protest against the speculation, fearing the consequence of the action, but jihoon had moved to her side without further protest.
“guys, what are you doing? this isn’t right, we’ll just be killing him instead! guys, please stop, don’t think like that, there’ll be another way, please…” mingyu’s words failed to comprehend through his friends’ ears.
jihoon’s hands replaced lyra’s on the fabric and took over the job, eyes empty as he worked. only lyre saw the tremor in his hands as he tore more fabric and secured the separation of skin. his eyes meet the shivering girl’s over wonwoo’s body. “can you do this?”
her intake of breath is loud in the air shared between the two of you. clearly, jihoon had no idea what he was doing either, despite being the token medical friend. despite knowing that it was her idea, lyre shook her head softly.
“i’m going to use the axe that we kept to break his bones. can you help snap the rest?”
his words were gruesome, sickening to its core but wonwoo’s cries answered his question before she was able to, and she nodded seconds after. hesitance could cost wonwoo’s life.
mingyu stood over the two of them, passing the axe to jihoon with a grimace on his face. “god this is wrong, god this is so, so wrong.” but the transition is smooth as he lets the axe fall into his friend’s hands.
jihoon acknowledged the fact with an incoherent mumble before adjusting his grip on the tool. “mingyu, get me some water. we may not have disinfectants but if we don’t wash it, bacteria will kill him instead.”
the boy’s shadow left the trio. lyra  placed a hand over wonwoo’s eyes, hoping that he wouldn’t catch a glimpse of what was to come. was he even conscious in the process? what if she had been wrong to think that his last words demanded the loss of a limb. this was by no means a perfectly successful strategy, but as it was all they had, so regardless of any .lingering whips of doubt, she held onto it like a lifeline.
“ready?” jihoon murmured.
the both of them nodded their heads slightly; there was no way they would be completely ready. but lyra’s hands found wonwoo’s biceps and they stayed there, stayed there until the axe swung up into the air, metal glinting in the reflection of the sun before falling from the force of gravity and the aid of jihoon’s strength. stayed there until the axe fell and met his flesh with a sickening thud.
a thud.
a blunt thud.
wonwoo’s shrill screams pierced through the previously tranquil atmosphere of the rainforest. his back lurched forward but mingyu had some sense to hold down his body before the axe had fallen. though mingyu had held down his body, wonwoo didn’t halt thrashing around. his arms pulsed under lyra’s hands and his legs kicked out for an escape.
“oh god.” jihoon exclaimed in horror, white sheet evident against his face. his hands shook and the axe fell to the floor.
underneath where the blade of the axe had fallen, crimson paint blossomed leaving a trail of broken skin and something else twisted. his flesh peaked from under the flabs of his skin, untainted until it was, blood and pus swimming from his arm.
wonwoo couldn’t stop screaming.
it was clear that jihoon had failed to touch the bone.
wonwoo’s eyes felt wet under lyra’s hands and she let out a weak sob.
jihoon froze.
mingyu struggled under wonwoo’s flailing figure.
“give it here!” mingyu was quick to shout, snatching the axe from the ground without a response, forcing jihoon to quickly melt his terror from his skin and throw himself onto wonwoo’s body.
wonwoo cries were deafening, coarse now from use and the strength in his limbs had weakened, allowing jihoon to hold down his body with more ease despite the weight difference.
mingyu swung without any indication of doing so, hard and fast against the same spot jihoon had attacked. this time, he pulled away with a weak crack. he whimpered at the noise but raised it again.
“oh my god.” lyra whimpered. “oh my god, why did we use a blunt axe?”
but mingyu doesn’t stop. he continued to swing the axe, up and down, letting the momentum aid his strength, letting wonwoo’s protests to stop fuel his stamina. there is a squelch among the splinters, a cry amongst the shouts but mingyu never falters. he doesn’t falter when lyra moved her own hands to help settle the body, avid to stop his movements. he doesn’t stop when wonwoo’s voice crack, soundless screams like the cries of tormenting ghosts whispering regret and fault into his ears. he doesn’t stop when the boy’s eyes roll back into his head, revealing murky white. and he doesn’t stop when wonwoo’s body finally falls slack on the floor, limp and drained of all energy from the continued torture he had undergone.
he only stopped when the arm separates completely from the body, a tattered arm lying lifelessly away from its previously conjoined biceps, adorned with the colour of fresh blood and oozing pus. the wound pulsated with flowing blood.
“water!” mingyu cried. he turned to a shell-shocked jihoon whose eyes had watched without blinking. “get the water, goddamnit!”
perhaps it was his tear-stricken face, or his eyes that reflected a haunted expression due to the fact he axed away at his friend, but jihoon finally moved. he’d leapt to grab their source of water and begun to pour it without thought at the injury.
lyra gasped, taking in the oxygen that your body severely lacked. “stop, you’re wasting it! put the bottle closer!”
truthfully, half of the spent water and rushed and spilt onto the jungle floor, worthless to their current situation. the boy instantly followed after your words, edging nearer to the smell of rotting flesh and decay. the boy felt faint at the scent, more so at the sight. god, there was so much blood.
mingyu rebooted and finally began to move again. “tear off your shirt.”
the girl hesitated at his words.
“tear off your shirt!” he repeated with more intended force.
she was quick to break out of her trance and began to tear long stripes of cotton from her attire, mingyu doing the same. in a clumsy, almost child-like way, the three of you attempt to bandage the leaking wound as best as you can, but the white cloth turns scarlet red as soon as its placed. a hopeless sob escaped your throat. had you just murdered your friend?
the almost lifeless body laid like a corpse on the ground, pale in his complexion and unconscious. he would have been mistaken for dead had it not been for the shallow breaths the three of them heard occasionally. when the sun had fallen, the bleeding had eased. simply for a lack of supple, lyra wondered in half-hearted ponder. she felt lightheaded in the sense that thought ran away from her. she wished for water, but they had used the majority in hopes of washing wonwoo’s wound.
it seemed hopeless all over again.
“oh my. perhaps it’s finally my time to step in.”
lost in her own world of panic, lyra missed the words of a newcomer though it appeared jihoon hadn’t.
“who are you?” jihoon asked, successfully gaining lyra’s and mingyu’s attention away from the body though it lingers on their minds. hostility crept into the boy’s voice as he continued. “what do you want?”
the source of the unfamiliar voice stemmed from a figure hidden within the shadows of the towering trees. none of the three could determine the identity of the creature causing suspicion to raise.
the creature walked from beneath the tree’s shade, a smug-like expression adorning their face. they appeared human-like, sharing similar features with the humans lyra was familiar with. they had normal curly, black hair that tickled the tips of his ears, eyes that curved like crescents and a mouth in which appeared to be in a constant mocking state. they would have come off as human save for the sharp teeth that glimmered in his grin and the red, hungry look in his eyes. “my name is jeonghan.” he explained.
“are you… human?” mingyu wondered.
the thing chuckled as if he found something the boy said humorous. “that’s funny, as if i could possibly downgrade.”
jihoon positioned his boy to protectively angle his body against the strange creature. “what do you want from us?”
jeonghan tilted his head. “why, what does it look like i’m doing?”
“it looks like you’re being a nuisance.” he answered. grabbing at the axe, he placed it between the four of you and the red eyed beast. wonwoo’s blood dripped from the edge of the blade to which jeonghan raised his eyebrows at. “stay back.” but jihoon’s voice betrayed his attitude and cracked under the pressure.
“put the axe down, jihoon.” jeonghan warned, taking a step forward. despite his firm voice, his lips wavered as if to conceal a smile.
“how do you know my name?” the boy replied instead of complying. despite jeonghan stepping closer, jihoon’s threats made no appearance. he had entered the abyss in hopes to solve the lifelong mystery of where it came from, not to fight a mystical creature. nothing in his life had trained him for this
“you two were screaming it so much it was hard to miss. it would be, rather, more shocking if i hadn’t heard it.” jeonghan said, gesturing to lyra and mingyu. “you two should really keep it down, by the way, or you’ll wake stronger beasts than the one you encountered before, you know, the one that bit your friend? and then even i wouldn’t be able to save you from them.” he hesitated and you flinched from his words. “well, maybe i could.”
mingyu took the silence that followed after as an opportunity to speak. “this sounds like you’re here to help us?”
jeonghan shrugged and mingyu noticed that he had been steadily closing the gap between him and the group but he let the thought slide. he were tired, oh so tired from the fear of losing his friend, the adrenaline from contributing to said friend’s loss of a limb and now this, a potential threat. perhaps death called, though it couldn’t be so bad if it promised a peaceful rest.
“i would simply be delighted to aid you in your…” he glanced around jihoon’s guarding figure to wonwoo’s body. “successful attempt to save your friend.” he finally spoke, words coming out rather slowly. “however, my buddy jihoon here, seems to be opposed against my gracious decision. perhaps you want wonwoo to die, jihoon buddy ol’ pal?”
jihoon looked to be physically in pain, teeth grinding upon each other. his mouth opened to say more but mingyu placed a firm hand on his arm. “we’ll accept.” mingyu said. “please save our friend.” the boy glanced at jihoon and shook his head desperately. “wonwoo doesn’t have time for us to argue.” he offered as explanation and when jihoon sighted wonwoo, he found himself agreeing.
“fine. please help us, jeonghan.” he muttered, hands still tightening on the handle of the axe though he lets his arm drop.
the creature clapped his hands in excitement. “excellent! i knew you would come around, jihoon.”
lyra cut into the conversation before jihoon could take the bait and bite back. “how are you going to save him? what are you going to do?”
the desperateness must have coloured her tone for jeonghan turned to face her. his eyes were haunting when they settled on hers for the first time, seemingly delving deep into her soul and prying deep into her memories. they left no surface unturned, a hurricane in his wake, the smile engraved into the crevices of her mind as he spoke once more. “come back with me and i’ll show you.”
lyra watched as jeonghan turned from her, colour returning into her sight as his figure began to disappear against the backdrop of the rainforest. she heard only her faint breaths and the whistle of perching birds, heads tilted in curiosity as they watched the event that occurred in the world beneath them. her eyes find mingyu’s which have been hardened beyond recognition and the two of you knew that the moment would forever be etched into the wrinkles of their brains. if they were to ever survive this, it would only mean elongated suffering.
there were tears in lyra’s eyes at the prospect of failing their initial endeveurs to explore the hidden depths of the unknown phenomenon. hadn’t they only wanted to explore what the abyss had offer? hadn’t they simply wanted the thrill of adventuring with your childhood friends, seeking out a journey that would be inked in history? and now the reality of the world had sunken into their bones like cement.
the four of them had barely descended past the fifth layer, edging on the boundaries and the concept of returning knocked on your mind like an unwanted friend.
jihoon stood, rustling the wind at the sudden disturbance. he swung wonwoo’s only arm over his shoulder and wordlessly trekked after jeonghan whose back was almost consumed by the forest’s shadows. there was only one option and jihoon knew this, knew this before the rest of his friends did.
mingyu followed after jihoon, zipping up his backpack and tossing it over his shoulder. he offered lyra a hand as he passed her on the floor, which she accepted. an unspoken nod is bounced back between the two, something like determination and acceptance in the gesture.
whatever was in their path of destiny had to be overcome no matter its challenge, for the four of them had descended so far to die only at its fifth layer.

hello!!! could you please do 8 & 18 for SVT's wonwoo??? thank you!!! ♡♡♡♡♡
[10:12am] Your soulmates voice echoed within your mind, “I dreamed of you last night.” You smile and look down at your desk.
“Oh yeah?” You ask, imaging your pushing the message towards him. Soulmates have such an odd and amazing connection. Being able to speak in one another’s mind when you like is a truly amazing thing but it’s hard to actually do. There are classes people pay for to try and learn how to do it. But, you and Wonwoo had always naturals. Sometimes when you were bored you’d just lay in bed and and ask him a million questions or tell him a story to distract the both of you.
“When can we meet?” He asks for what feels like the millionth time.
“Soon, I hope.” You sigh, a bit too loudly and you hope no one around you notices. You and Wonwoo had known where the other lived for quite awhile but he never had the time and you didn’t have the money.
“You still want to meet me, right?” His voice sounds anxious and you can’t help but smile to yourself.
“Of course, I’ve been waiting for you all my life.” You remind him and you hope that someday soon you could say that to his face and watch the smile you know he’s showing. You want to see his cheeks flush and his eyes shine. But for known you’ll take being able to hear his sweet voice echoing within your mind.
Send me an idol and a number and I’ll write you a little something!

heyyy could I get a wonwoo drabble of reader and him kissing in rain after a mini misunderstanding? Idk if that makes sense but I've had this thought in my mind forever but can't find the right words to write about it.
of course anon!! love that thought!💗
kyy note//: hope you like it, i tried my best, thanks for being the first anon in my inbox!!
A Small Misunderstanding.
Tumblr media
“i need to clear my mind, wonwoo.” you say to him, feeling jealousy bubble up in your head and flood your senses. not just a few seconds ago, you saw him talking to a girl, both smiling and laughing, worse thing is, they were exchanging little items and trinkets before you left her. then you made eye contact with him. he smiled at you, but then sensed that you weren’t in that kind of mood and came rushing over to you. "you guys look like you were having fun talking, hm?" you say with a forced smile as you try to walk away from him. "baby, i swear it wasn't like that, hear me out baby—" he pants after catching up with you. you scoff and roll your eyes. "thats what they all say." you shrug your arms before feeling some rain dropping down. thats the last thing you needed right now, great. "no baby, for real, i was trying to—" you turn to him with a groan, cutting him off again as it starts to pour rain on you both. "if you're here just to sympathize and pity me after i watch you flirting with her than i don't want to hear it. i thought you-" he grabs your face and cuts you off with a kiss. the rain rushing down both of your faces, with the sounds of it hitting the ground with little splashes. you want to pull away, but the feeling of his lips mesh too well together with yours to do so. he finally pulls away with an exhale. "what i was trying to say was, i was exchanging with this jewelry lady and buying you a ring. its a promise ring." he pulls out two beautiful, rhinestone covered rings. "i got matching pairs for us." suddenly your head fills with guilt and sorrow, now realizing it was just a big misunderstanding. "i'm sorry won…i just felt so much emotions flood me, please forgive darling." you look up to him, the guilt prominent on your face. "of course i forgive you, i'm sorry too, i just wanted to surprise you." you send him a smile then hug him tightly, him reciprocating. you both stand there in each others arms in forgiveness whilst the rain pours down, happiness both now flooding you both.

It was odd how vivid each dream was.  Like a newly released movie full of sharp and contrasting colours, one that dragged on for the entire night until your own eyes were opening, blinking back into reality as they focused on the popcorned ceiling above your head.
The visions began when you were eight, all dreams before hand had never been this vivid, never this realistic.
They reoccured each night, similar in most ways as you seen the same places and faces whilst hearing same voice, it wasn’t yours but you were quickly becoming familiar with it. But unlike any dreams before these, you remembered them each time you awoke.
Like it wasn’t a figment of your imagination but something that you had lived through.
It took you a few weeks to actually bring up the topic of your dreams to your mother.
“You’re dreaming through your soulmates eyes,” Your mother soothed, her gentle hands pulling strands of your hair behind your ear.
You blinked up at her, child like eyes clueless to what she meant, “My soulmates eyes,” You repeated, the repetition of words not helping with your understanding.
Your mother nodded, a comforting smile curling at the corner of her lips, “As you go to sleep each night, the eyes within your mind-” She paused momentarily to gently poke the middle of your forehead, causing you to giggle giddly, “open up! and you begin to live through your soulmates eyes. You see what they see, you experience everything that they do. And once you awake, and your soulmate sleeps, they will be able to see through your eyes as well.”
It didn’t make much sense nor did you really understand why something like this occured but nonetheless you nodded along to each spoken word, “Did you see through daddy’s eyes?”
Your mothers smile turned toothy as she nodded, eyes full of fond memories that one day you’d hope she’d share, “Every night, up until the day we met.”
Since turning eight, you’ve grown up with this faceless person behind your dreams eyes.
You’ve seen what they’ve seen, been there through all their troubles and have indirectly met every single one of their friends and family members, in such a personal manner that you could most likely address all of them by full name without even truly meeting them.
You knew your soulmates name: Jeon Wonwoo. You knew the layout of their house, and you knew the names of their family members. You knew the streets he roamed and his favourite book shop (one that you’ve come so acquainted with despite never physically being there)
You knew everything.
Besides what he looked like.
The only set back to these connected dreams were each time there was a reflective surface, that face behind the eyes was blurred to such an extent that you were unable to make out any sort of features.
No colour of eyes, no structure of nose, no curling of lips, this so called soulmate of yours was, for arguement sake, faceless.
It made finding your soulmate that much harder, but the universe was not known for giving out things people desire so easily. With every hardship in life, though, there were loopholes, and your curiousity, but more-so your boredom, lead you to one of those so-called loopholes.
You sat at the table that you and a friend had picked out, fingers halfheartedly picking at the corner of the napkin on the surface of the table. Your friend had gone a couple minutes ago to the bathroom and you were left by yourself.
Or at least as ‘by yourself’ as you possibly could be when someone’s constantly spying through your vision whilst they sleep.
It was unnerving to some extent knowing that everything you did was monitored by someone you were unfamiliar with.
When you moved your eyes across the room, someone else was also watching the same thing that you were looking at. You wondered if he was as self aware about this invasion as you were at this very moment.
The more self aware you became as you sat alone in the coffee shop, the more interested you had become with the idea of your soulmate.
The curiousity of it all was enough to have you leaning over in your seat to rummage through the bag that sat by your feet until your fingers were curling around a pen found at the very bottom of the bag.
Once straightened out on your chair again, you use the side of your hand to iron out the napkin that you had been tearing apart prior.
And then you began to write, it was short and the pen broke through the flimsy napkin a couple times but once the pen was pulled away, the sentence was hopefully distinguishable enough.
Can you read this? If you can, write back when you wake up.
You stared at the writing for a moment, allowing the man known as Wonwoo to fully grab onto the written words before you were crumbling up the napkin and stuffing it into your pocket.
You dont know if it was ingenious or not to attempt something like this, but no matter how embarrassing it may be, the end result could be worth it.
Hopefully.
~
I can read it, my writings shit so i hope you’re able to make this out.
The writing began and in your comatose state you were able to read it. The writing was chicken scratch, at least this Wonwoo character wasn’t a liar, but the longer they looked down at the page in which they wrote upon, the easier it became to read.
This is the first time either of you really acknowledged the other person and when another minute passed, Wonwoo had moved his hand into his line of vision once more, pen still in hand as he began scribbling underneath his previous statement, hand pulled back seconds later to reveal the words.
I’m Jeon Wonwoo, it’s a pleasure to unofficially officially meet you (Y/N)
~
It wasn’t really meant to become anything, but it did. You began looking forward to sleeping, to getting a response from the other, and each morning became a topic of interest because you were now able to reply.
It was short messages, nothing to delve into each others lifes right off the bat; realistically what could you ask someone in which you’ve been following since you were eight years old, you practically knew this man already like the back of your hand.
It was playful comments and quick “hope your day is well” and it was nothing serious. But it was nice. It was a comforting thing being able to converse, though marginally, with someone that was universally known as your soulmate.
It wasn’t until a couple weeks of this playful game you had between the two of you that Wonwoo had taken it into his own hands to make this a more definite thing.
You slept that night with a light heart filled with airy hope for a playful response from your significant other and were thankfully not let down.
Through his chicken scratch writing, something you can easily make out now after weeks of practice, he wrote about how he wished you had a good day. And with only seconds to allow your mind to process the words, Wonwoo’s hand was inching underneath the statement and beginning to write again.
I wish to speak with you in a more definite way, would you be willing to give me your number
~
And you did.
Well of course you did,you had no reason not to. He was your soulmate afterall, the stars alligned in the sky and the universe chose the two of you to be a match, the other person on this earth inwhich you would be most happiest to spend the rest of your life with, or at least thats what the universe was telling you; and who wouldn’t listen to the universes message?
The time difference made it difficult to talk, by the time you were waking up it was already night over there, and you had mere hours to converse with Wonwoo before he was calling it a night always ending the conversation with “I’ll see you in my dreams.”
It’d be adorable if it wasn’t meant so literally.
But at least now you knew when your life was being monitored, before it was a hit or miss, not really sure when your otherhalf was asleep or not. But with this new means of communication you more or less knew each time he was asleep and watching through your eyes. It was comforting to say the least.
The flowing conversations were comforting as well, how easily they flowed. Both personalities easily intertwining with the other in such a way that it made it so effortless to be able to talk about anything and everything with him all at once.
Sometimes the universe wasn’t so bad.
And sometimes the universe was that bad, a class clown that no one liked but put up with because they sort of pity how attention seeking it was, sort of bad.
Each passing day dragged on, and your heart was recieving most of the backlash. It became heavier with delight each time you were able to talk to Wonwoo, but sat heavily in your tight chest with dismay each time you were forced to say goodbye due to time differences.
The universes ultimate trick was pairing you with a soulmate that lived half across the country from you.
You both made it work though, you cherished the times that you had to talk in real time and both made efforts to make stupid little doodles and notes in the margines of their books so the one sleeping and watching could smile about it the next day.
~
Could you talk on the phone?
It was an hour into the morning, an hour into the never ending conversation between Wonwoo and yourself when he posed the question.
You turned in the warmth of your duvet, fingers clutching the phone above your face as you read over the message.
Your stomach filled with butterflies at the idea of hearing his voice in real time, hearing it as it addresses you directly instead of snooping on his conversations with friends.
It’s late there, shouldn’t you try and sleep soon
A selfish part of you hoped he’d insist.
I should. But I’d rather talk to you.
You hesitated for a moment, just staring at the bright screen in front of your eyes, your thumb movig to swipe over the screen once it dimmed to bring it back to its original brightness.
then call.
A second pased, and then another one. It seemed like seconds dragged on for minutes until your phone was switching from the messages to the black screen showcasing Wonwoo’s name.
You didn’t know why you were so nervous, you’ve indirectly known this man since you were eight years old, you watched him grow up like a childhood friend. And yet the thought of talking to him made your stomach twist and turn unpleasantly.
You closed your eyes as your thumb pressed the answer button, shaking hands moving to press the phone against your ear.
There was static noise through the phone his soft breathing muffled against the reciever making a shiver run up your spine.
Your nerves making it hard for you to speak, you’re not sure you would have been able to say anything if he hadn’t initiated it first
“Do you usually answer the phone with completely silence?”
An uncontrollable embarrassed flush painting the highs of your cheeks at his remark, and though it took you a couple seconds too long to collect yourself to respond you managed to, “More times than not,”
His soft laugh was static laced as it came through your phones speaker, your teeth biting into the skin of the inside of your cheek.
“We usually answer with a hello over here but i guess traditions vary in each country,” He egged on, you could practically hear the amused smile on his face as he spoke.
“I guess if you want to be traditional I could have answered with what you were expecting, but I like doing the unexpected.” You retorted, your mind hardly having time to process what you were saying before the words were leaving your lips, effortless banter at its finest.
“Rebellious act then?”
You let out a soft hum of agreement, your eyes opening for the first time since answering the phone and your lips curling perminently into a smile
~
The calls became more frequent than the texting, he’d text you once he was awake and without so much of a response you were calling him so you both could pass the couple hours that you had left before sleep to talk with each other.
Hearing 'see you in my dreams’ each conversation was much more blush inducing than just reading it off text message.
On one particular night, you laid in bed with the phone pressed to your ear listening to Wonwoo talk about nothing and everything all at once, he was surprisingly a man of many words.
One particular night when your mind wandered as he spoke and you began to think about the person behind the voice. Tried to picture what a man with such a deep smooth voice would look like.
Once there was a lull in his story because he waited for a response, you brought up your curiousity completely ignoring whatever he was talking about prior (you hadn’t really been listening too greatly so it wasn’t like you would be able to answer anyways), “Will I ever get to see you?”
Static rung in your ears, the muffled sound of his comforter ruffling around as he moved heard through it, “I suppose theres no getting around seeing each other if were meant to be soulmates.”
“But when would i be able to see you?”
Seconds past as you assumed he thought of an answer, “Right now if you wished to, through skype.” Your mouth was opening to answer before he was talking once more, “But no bundle of pixels would do your beauty justice.”
“You dont even know what I look like,” You embarrassedly spoke, your words slightly muffled as you pressed your burning cheeks into the comfort of your pillow.
“Call it a soulmates intuition,”
You rolled your eyes at his response, eyes focused back on the crack in your white paint as you thought out an answer, “Theres no other way, a bundle of pixels would have to do.”
“Airplanes cease to exist in that country as well?”
You had to close your eyes to physically stop yourself from rolling your eyes fondly at his teasing, “We mostly travel by horse and carriage, I’m surely not aware of this arrow-plain you speak of,” You butchered the word airplane for comedic effect and the laughter from his line was enough conviction that it was worth it, “Besides, what are you implying?”
You could hear his deep intake of breath from his side, your brows raising in curiousity as you waited for him to speak, “I’m implying that theres other means of seeing eachother other than technology. I’m implying that I might have also already looked into flights and they’re really cheap right now.”
“How have I not seen any of this?”
“I did it all while on the phone with you so I knew for a fact you weren’t spying on me,”
“Clever,” You tisked, your tongue poking through your lips to lick over your bottom lip, “So you’re suggesting the first time we officially see one another is face to face?”
“Thats exactly what I’m suggesting, it could be like a surprise? Like a reveal or something?”
Your brows furrowing in thought as you consider it, “And what if said surprise isn’t as exciting as one thought it might be,”
He was quiet for a moment before his voice was heard once more through the phone, “I already know whatever my surprise holds it’ll be something worth getting excited over,” and without any hesitation his voice change octaves and it was much lighter than previous, “And your surprise is going to be equally if not more exciting so you truly have nothing to worry about.”
~
Nothing to worry about turned into a lot to worry about as the countdown to Wonwoos arrival turned from months to weeks to days and now it was mere minutes.
As promised you both stayed anonymous and when you asked how Wonwoo was suppose to tell you apart from the group he mentioned that stupid soulmates intuition thing again.
And then told you to bring a really obnoxious sign with his name on it as if you were his limo driver picking him up, which is how you ended up with a neon pink sign with Wonwoo’s name spelt out in big boxy letters and glitter puddling around your feet as it flaked off from the paper each time you adjusted how you held it.
It was very obnoxiously bright and eye catching, so you’d think it’d be easy for Wonwoo to spot you amongst the gathering crowd.
You were standing there for more than thirty minutes before the doors were opening and the first flood of people were appearing, all pulling luggage on behind them and looking more than relieved to be on the floor. Your hands immediately jerked the paper over your head so it was in view to those that were exiting, feeling slightly awkward holding the absurdly loud sign as all eyes turned to look at you at least once as they passed.
Your arms were beginning to get tired by the time you locked eyes with someone across the room. The chocolately brown eyes read over the sign before meeting yours once more and something inside of you told you that it was him.
It was Wonwoo.
Alternatively, it was your soulmate.
You held each others gaze as you lowered the sign, completely locked up in where you stood. You only found strength to move once Wonwoo took the first step towards you, and with the new found strength you were power walking over to him.
Your hand released its grip on the sign once you were close enough to Wonwoo that you could smell him, arms instinctively moving to wrap around his neck. The warmth of his chest pressing against your own and strong arms wrapping around your waist had a strange familiarity to it.
It was like coming home.
~
That night, you both stayed up later than usual, your nerves were too on edge and giddy to do so and Wonwoo doing so because his jet lagg would absolutely not allow him to sleep.
You both took time to get use to each other, knowing each other indirectly since being eight years old never prepared either of you for what being in each others presence would be like.
It was like taking off the training wheels to your bike for the first time, it was unfamiliar and yet familiar at the same time. And with practice you fell back into it with ease something that the training wheels had helped you succeed.
The sun was rising by the time you had been able to convince Wonwoo to sleep. You fitted into the space in your bed against the wall and like a puzzle piece, Wonwoo laid down by the edge, both your bodies turned towards each other so you could hold each other gaze, clumsy fingers bumping underneath the duvet as they moved to interlace with each other.
“I’ll see you in my dreams,” Wonwoo said on a whisper, your heart filling with an indescribable happiness and deflating as you let out a soft breath through your flared nostrils.
You nodded numbly in response, “I’ll see you in my dreams,” You responded, the first time you’re able to do so as you both were going to sleep at the same time.
And that night you didn’t see Wonwoo in your dreams, you didnt vicariously live his day through his eyes. You dreamt a normal dream, one that made absolutely no sense, one that you hadn’t experienced since you were seven years old.
You didn’t dream of Wonwoo, because through the night he slept soundly behind you, the warmth of his chest pressing firmly against your back and heavy sleep filled arms wrapped loosely around you.
He was there with you so that you could start living each day more literally together.

SEVENTEEN REACTION ?
reaction to you getting injured
Tumblr media
? SEUNGCHEOL’s
ahhh leader goes into panic mode !! but he knows how to deal with this situation since the boys are always putting themselves in situations like this. he’s just glad it’s not a serious injury — definitely scolds you. “are you trying to give me a heart attack ? seriously, watch where you’re going baby .” he huffs in fake annoyance. but he always holds you a lil tighter in his arms bc your little tears hurt his heart way too much.
? JEONGHAN’s
protector jeonghan is here. he’s always keeping a special eye out for you bc he knows you’re super clumsy and it actually worries him when you go out on your own because god knows what you might do ?! of course in true jeonghan fashion — he’ll tease you first. “what’s this ? fallen for me again, baby ?” w/ a grin.
? JOSHUA’s
nooo his poor baby, his heart can’t take the glossy shine in your eyes that indicates the tears that are about to fall. joshua will rush to your side — assessing the seriousness of your injury. luckily, it’s only a small scrape on the knee, but it rlly stings none the less. “get on my back, love.” he says, crouching down to match your height, ready to carry you the way home.
? JUNHUI’s
his eyes just kinda widen when he hears your sniffles of pain and he looks down at you on the floor — holding your now injured arm. crouches down beside you and softly takes your arm to look at the injury. when he sees it’s only small, he’ll smile softly and lift his hand to your head, petting it gently. “only a small scratch baby — pain’ll be gone soon ok?” he reassures.
? SOONYOUNG’s
gasps loudly as your knees topple over each other and you eventually collide with the ground. rushes over to you, immediately cradling you in his arms as he coos at you. it’s a minor injury — but your knees are red & bleeding and that’s enough to make hoshi panic !! “oh baby .. you’re okay, hm ? it’s okay, i’ve got you now.”
? WONWOO’s
wonwu hears a hiss from behind him and his head snaps towards you — his heart dropping as he sees the steam of blood gushing from your finger. runs to place the knife somewhere out of harms way and then grabs your hand, putting it under the running water. holds you close with his other arm as you whine at the nasty feeling. “i know honey, just a few more seconds”
? JIHOON’s
sprints to the kitchen when he hears the sound of glass smashing — and there you are, picking up the larger shards from the floor. he’s about to warn you to move when you cry out in pain and throw the glass in your hand to the floor, fresh blood now running down your fingers. “ahhh yn — why would you use your hands to pick up glass … nevermind that, c’mere.”
? DOKYEOM’s
wants the floor to swallow him whole when he hears your cry of pains after slamming the door in your face. gasps and runs to cup your face in his hands. feels so so bad when a trail of blood runs from your nose & your eyes are squeezed shut in pain. probably starts to tear up bc he feels so guilty — but you’ll both laugh about it later. “baby, i’m so sorry - oh my let me go get you a tissue ok ? uhhh just stay here .. uh .”
? MINGHAO’s
will scold you part two. kinda in shock ; one moment you’re by his side and the next you’re on the floor in tears. he then sees that your shoe-laces are untied & starts ranting about how he told you to tie them before you left the house and now you’re injured. but he’ll soon stop — feeling bad because you’re in pain & he’s biting your ear off. “ahhh, silly baby. what did i tell you hm ? see, i’m always right.” he smirks.
? MINGYU’s
he forgot to warn you about the boiling water he was preparing in the kitchen — and so he comes back to you shrilling out in pain, scolding hot water running down your hands as you drop the pot. he immediately takes your hands and runs them under cold water, cursing himself mentally. “oh beautiful.. i forgot to tell you, i’m sorry. the pain will stop soon, okay ?” he mumbles, peppering light kisses all across your face and shoulders as an attempt of distraction.
? SEUNGKWAN’s
you’re laughing at the huge bruise on your back where as seungkwan is stood in shock, a slightly dramatic gasp leaving his mouth when he sees the forming injury. the two of you had gone ice skating and you had collided with the floor many, many times — resulting in your current injury; which you found funny. “baby what are you laughing at .. seriously ? look at how bad that is— it’s not funny!” he cries out in shock.
? VERNON’s
a loud crashing sound diverts hansol’s attention and he’s rushing to the kitchen in a panic. there he finds you, on the floor — your favourite cereal scattered all over the kitchen tiles and you’re hunched over in pain. it was the cereal that he placed unreasonably high on the shelf — just bc he’s taller than you. “baby — why didn’t you just ask me to get it for you ? ahhh .. i’ll buy you another box — don’t worry.” he sighs.
? DINO’s
his heart jumps in his throat when you walk into the room, blood trickling down your legs as you babble out the backstory — though your crying makes it kinda unclear for chan, so he settles for just patching you up for now. “ ah, my baby’s so clumsy, hm ? good thing i’m here to look after you .” chan tells you softly, planting a gentle kiss to your tear stained cheeks.
