At approximately 19:40, on May 27, 2019 @colorado_springs_fire was dispatched to the 4200 block of Pikes Peak Ave for a #structurefire. First due units #engine8#truck8 initially reported nothing showing, once crews made entry they reported moderate smoke conditions and investigated further. #truck8 found #activefire and #battalion2 requested a #workingfire assignment. Rogers was only eight hours into his career as a Richmond firefighter yesterday when he responded to his first working structure fire. Not only was it his first fire, but his engine company was first due, which meant him and his crew would be initiating primary fire attack. Some probationary firefighters wait months for their first due working structure fire but for probationary firefighter Rogers it was only a matter of hours.
