Now it appears— the tide of momentarity has betted in its helm. Throughup and around, gaining momentum withsupine that fleeting dictum. Amendment by dint of the sea, lingeringing upon the hollows of the harpoon emissary. And peeling from the vacancies— a cabin with views. Their refroreflecting planars we can imagine: entouraging with yingyanged reaches of blue on yellow; obfuscated beyond where fate necessitates remote-viewing. So be it: O propheincising insurgent— embrace for impactomites. Midsummer'snight breeze off the muzzle, the moon entangling the ample vegetations into bottle-green. Vindictive of South, a plump of moistly grasses have fallen off to the canyonine reclining of the sand: "Portas Lux Aeternae". Torquaes-hazyleaves augurs us to a serene scaffolding. The hinders from the sun, over the years fed off the paintcoatings much— they are leeched into radiants…. A calm moment of scattering.. Woodiness rumple, from underneath, unfurls the kittens of a balcony. Breathtaking nothingness. No glimpses of clouding life, no woundedknee summaries, no regional killswitchesses.

On this day December 29th 1890 the United States 7th Calvary massacred mostly women and children and some men (mostly unarmed) with the Hotchkiss machine gun in South Dakota. The soldiers were spooked thinking they were about to practice the Ghost Dance they murdered Chief Bigfoot. This 9 x 14 ft mixed media canvas I painted to commemorate this and the 1973 AIM battle with the US government at the same location. Many Americans at that time didn't really think any Indians even existed still. The American Indian Movement ( AIM) fought to bring attention to the right of contemporary Indians. They sought for Native rights, the environment and to remove the oppressive hold of christian and government , corporate capitalist control. My painting was initially painted in 1992 and was exhibited at the Korean Embassy in New York City. Later the painting was exhibited at the Kimo Theater in Albuquerque New Mexico at a fundraiser for Native Americans spiritual rights to have sweat lodges in prisons. The Mayor of Albuquerque took offence because of the 2 upside down flags (which means distress in flag etiquette) Today the genocide of almost all living Indigenous peoples of all the major continents continues. A war on people in harmony with nature continues. A new Ghost Dance has been born! #woundedkneemasscre #woundedknee #ghostdance #aim #cheifbigfoot #woundedknee73 #americanholocaust #indianwars #kimotheater #forgottenhistory #mixedmedia #controversialart #indianartists #theusflag #murderedchildren #americanindian #nativeametican #rememberwoundedknee #rememberwoundedknee1890 (at Wounded Knee, South Dakota) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmxEXfdO2xI/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

. . #woundedknee https://www.instagram.com/p/CQknAsVrZjO/?utm_medium=tumblr

"I hope to be remembered as a fighter and as a patriot who never feared controversy and not just for Indians. When I fight for my people's rights, when I stand up for our treaties, when I protest government lies and illegal seizures and unlawful acts, I defend all Americans, even the bigoted and misguided." ~Russell Means, in "Where White Men Fear to Tread" RIP #russellmeans #iloveancestry #lakota #ancestors #roots #americanindianmovement #nativepride #activist #warrior #woundedknee #native #treaties #indigenous #firstnations #treatyrights #honorthetreaties https://www.instagram.com/p/B3AgOrzoshd/?igshid=55dlsborpv4

It's December 29th. 🩸 On this day in 1890, US troops under the command of Colonel James W. Forsyth massacred more than 300 Sioux Native Americans in the area of Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota.
In the late 1880s prior to the massacre, the atmosphere amongst the Native Americans on their reservations was one of desperation and despair. The US Government had been confiscating more and more of their treaty-guaranteed lands and cutting their food rations. In 1889, a Paiute tribesman named Wovoka had a vision that if the Native Americans appealed to their Great Spirit by performing the sacred Ghost Dance day in and day out, their white oppressors would disappear and the Native Americans would once again rule the Great Plains.
Ghost Dance performances quickly spread throughout the reservations. The Army tried to stop the practice, but the Native Americans persevered – even after the police shot Chief Sitting Bull dead. Sitting Bull’s followers fled to join Chief Spotted Elk's tribe.
The US 7th Cavalry forced Chief Spotted Elk and his Sioux tribe to go to Wounded Knee Creek where the soldiers could keep watch over them. On December 29th, 1890, the soldiers attempted to disarm the Sioux. One man resisted, and the others began to dance. The soldiers opened fire. Within minutes, at least 300 Native Americans were dead – including many women, children, and even babies.
Typical of the times, the American public generally approved of the massacre. They felt it was justified to avenge the 7th Cavalry's defeat and General George Custer's killing at the Battle of Little Bighorn four years earlier. Twenty soldiers received the Medal of Honor, the US military’s highest and most prestigious commendation, for their actions at Wounded Knee.
These days, thankfully, Wounded Knee is not touted as a victory against a dangerous enemy, but is remembered as an outright massacre. Congress officially apologized in 1990, but for some unfathomable reason, they’ve still not passed the “Remove the Stain Act,” which would revoke the Wounded Knee Medals of Honor. ☮️ Peace… Jamiese of Pixoplanet

"Nel dicembre di 129 anni fa, la cavalleria americana arrivò nella riserva di Pine Ridge mentre era in corso una Danza degli Spiriti. Presero 75 Lakota in trappola, li uccisero e gli fecero lo scalpo. Fu uno dei brutali attacchi del massacro di Wounded Knee." -Survival International- . . #WoundedKnee https://www.instagram.com/p/B6dfUmOi7sU/?igshid=1jnhxtv1e4cmr
