Wander Over Yonder turned 10 today!

Here to say that this show really inspired me to do a lot. I cannot believe it aired today 10 years ago. Everything about this show is fantastic. The characters were iconic and well-written, the adventures they went on were goofy mixed with some emotional/wholesome moments, the story that was told was intriguing and left us wanting more, the songs were bangers, the animation is adorable and (from a technical standpoint) ahead of its time... you can tell the writers poured their heart and soul into this show and it really paid off. Its message of positivity, helping others, and loving people regardless of their imperfections is something I feel like everybody needs to hear.

If you've never seen Wander Over Yonder, I'd highly recommend it. You can find it on Disney+, Hulu, and even the very first episode was posted to DisneyXD's YouTube channel about a week ago. So definitely go check it out if you've got the time.

(Also this is my first time drawing the characters. I hope they look good. I want to draw more of them and also try to use tumblr more often, so maybe expect me to post more WOY stuff soon :D)

I think like we don't talk enough about Sylvia's devotion to wander. I know the scene end with Sylvia punching wander out of the teleportation ray but that doesn't make her declaration any less sincere. Sylvia would follow wander anywhere. To a battlefield, to a prison cell, to certain death. It was set up since the fugitives, and it's also the only episode where she even consider leaving him behind. No matter how reluctant she can be to the crazy shits he get into, she just can't leave his side.

I think that's because wander is who give her a purpose. He's the one who proved to her that she could be a good person. And now, her existence is intertwined with his by her own choice.

This relationship mirror hater and peepers's. Peepers would be far more efficient as a villain by himself but he doesn't just want to conquer the universe. He wants to conquer the universe with hater.

We don't get much context about their past but It's implied that hater and peepers started their empire together. They probably used to be best friends with big dreams of conquest and world domination. Maybe as time went, this friendship turned into a partnership, which then turned into a very unequal dynamic. But I think episodes like the funk give us an hindsight on how their relationship used to be. And I think peepers miss the relationship they used to have.

I wonder if peepers envy Sylvia sometime. Sylvia's devotion is rewarded with unconditional love, apreciation and a warm, gentle morning greeting complete with a nice homemade breakfast. Peepers get a reluctant "you did a good job" at best. I wonder how he feels when he sees wander and Sylvia hug and tell each "I love you" like it was the most natural thing in the world. Hater would react with disgust and embarrassment to his affection, right? "At least, your idiot love you back".

At the end I digitized and colored in a simple way the doodles on peepers XD

something in my head tells me that if peeper knew coffee or energy drinks he would never let go of them, that grumpy dwarf with an unstable sleep schedule needs them to keep him awake while he plans and strategizes to dominate the galaxy.

I still don't know how to draw Lord Hater (it's been my headache since I was a kid)
