Crazy how feral Rika is so animalistic and ravenous from being raised by the most slow and docile mudfish lol

// this is due to them following a feeding pattern she can't replicate (as clodsire consume their prey whole), as well as her role in the pond she lived in! papá clod knew that she, as a human, was much faster than clods and had longer legs, so he trained her and helped her develop good enough skills to protect her own family. some of them clodsire can do (such as silently stalking and ambushing, concealing themselves among reeds etc), but others, such as running very fast and moving on all fours, she had to learn by herself, mostly from imitating other pokemon that lived nearby (like pyroar for example).

during her life at the pond, she had 2 roles: sentry/patrol, and defender. she'd walk around the pond in search for predators, scouring the area for tracks and similar, and then engage in battle with the predators when found, or when they trespassed their turf. because she was -and is- extremely fast, she was able to protect wooper and avoid getting attacked herself, and she could hit her opponent faster than they could react. she HAD to be fierce and animalistic and ravenous for this to work, and this includes mimicking vocalizations from other predators (clodsire bellows, for one, as well as snarls and roars she'd hear from pyroar and litleo), biting, scratching, tackling...

basically, she didn't only learn from clodsire behaviorally, but from other pokemon and the environment she was in as well, to her advantage.

also, domesticated clodsire are one thing. but feral/wild clodsire can be surprisingly fierce lol especially on water, and when hunting and fighting for territory/mates! papá's territory was facing low numbers due to mismanagement from the previous sire in place, but thanks to papá taking over and rika joining in and fiercely protecting the pups from predators, she was able to help her family's numbers rise for her duration of her stay there. if it hadn't been for her, clodsire and wooper would've become extinct in area five.
