Back when I made some art of different dragons to celebrate the Year of the Dragon this year, I wanted to do an honorable mentions. There were a lot of dragons I thought about using for the final product, but ended up having to leave some out.
“We think we must have got him mixed in with the produce and sold him off as a grapefruit”
I’ve been spending all week thinking about @writerkatsblog ‘s headcanon about Chase coming from a farming family and being sold to the Xiaolin Temple and the implications that has for ‘Omi Town’.
Do you think Hannibal knew about Chase’s past? Do you think he built Omi Town and Omi’s fake backstory around Chase’s own history? Do you think he was mocking Chase here too?
Anyway. I made myself sad this week with thoughts of baby Chase.
''Chang kidnapped Jake's egg for the Dark Dragon, and the Xaolin Dragons became involved due to a prophecy (which they misinterpreted) about the imbalance of the magical and mundane communities. It turns out that they managed to defeat Chang but she flees without the egg with the help of Lao Shi (She had arrived in America) but they decide that Lao Shi's family will take care of this child and he becomes the first dragon born in America. . .''
Inspiration in ''Family of dragons'' @alexanderzazilart
Is a Crossover AmDrag/Xiaolin
Chase's and Jack's form dragons are longer that canon (And Chase dragon is most oriental and conservant your caracteristic)
Because for Dark Dragon is bigger
''Headcanon AmDrag: There are 2 types of dragons, normal and corrupt, the corrupt are those that were not born with the ability to transform into dragons, but are transformed by curses or by ''illegal means'', they are characterized by their large size and ''immortality'', they are given the bad reputation of dragons in mythology.''
I should clarify that I used this concept art as reference. even if I heavily had to edit the proportions to fit the weird proportion Chase's dragon form has.
I also added a fun chart with the dragon form, Dojo, the Sapphire Dragon and the Weeping dragon that was father of... Chase's contract soup. you know, for some father and son comparison.
A character collage of Raimundo Pedrosa in traditional ink and watercolor! I had made this a while ago.
I had drawn Rai’s robes in the traditional “Y” cross to match that of authentic Chinese robes. I’ve heard though that temples may cross the robes in the opposite direction for foreigners, but I’m not sure if that fully true (let me know if you know!).
For Rai’s casual clothes, I’d decided to modernize them while making them more breezy and sporty. Not only does this match his element, but being from Brazil with its warm and humid climate, I thought short sleeves and looser fit clothing would match that as well. ☺️🍃🌪️
