My Summary: This is probably my favorite Drarry fic of all time, and I’ve read a lot. So it’s epilogue compliant, and focuses on adult Harry and Draco. Basically, Harry is feeling the adult blues and like something is missing. He loves his kids, and yes, even Ginny, but something is wrong. Cue mystical magical man that gives Harry a ‘glimpse’ at what his life would have been like if he had saved Draco all those years ago. So Harry wakes up in this strange world where his kids don’t exist, and he’s in a relationship with Draco. And Draco wasn’t the only one that’s saved! So, now Harry is legit beginning to catch feels but his kids, you know? Eventually, it has to come to an end, and Harry has to decide what will make him happy. I don’t want to give too much away, but I will say that this is so well written, it hurts! The characterization, the relationships, but above all, the plot. The plot! It’s not just about Drarry, it’s about self-realization and making the conscious decision to be happy. 10/10 would recommend. 

All I Want For Christmas (Is For You To Stop Talking) by femmequixotic & noe

My Summary: I’m a sucker for single dad Draco/Harry, and this fic is wonderfuuul! Harry is a boss single dad whose kids go to The Niffler's Garden - a prestigious school - with Scorpious. The short and long of it is that Harry and Draco get roped into directing the school’s pageant while trying to deny their clear UST. The whole time, Harry is learning more about the man Draco had become, and Draco is realizing how much he loves being a hands-on father. Very fluffy, very cute. A wonderful read if you’re not looking for a high-tension fic!

What We Pretend We Can’t See by Gyzym

Word count: 131,086

My Summary: I love a good redemption story, and this one is top of that genre. After the war, Harry couldn’t deal with Grimmauld Place. It was too close to everything he lost, so he sold it. Down the road, after becoming an auror, Harry finds out that it has become a museum. One day, Kreacher shows up at Harry’s job and tells him that some thieves are holding the new owner and a bunch of school children hostage. Harry gets there to save the day, and of course Draco is the new owner. So, dealing with this, they become closer, and of course Harry insists on protecting Draco, and you can see where this is going. This story will make you think twice about ever putting a nail in your wall again! Very centered around the whole protector/charge aspect. Depictions of panic/anxiety attacks in a hurt/comfort aspect. 

The Claiming of Grimmauld Place by Bixgirl1

Word count: 74,228

My Summary: This is one of those ‘wizard houses are alive’ fics. Grimmauld Place is fighting Harry’s control over it, so as a last-ditch effort to fix it, he puts an ad out for a new roommate to help. Of course, the most qualified is Draco Malfoy who promptly moves in. They learn about each other as Draco attempts to teach Harry about claiming wizard houses. Some spectacularly funny moments, and amazing characterization. This is one of those fics that really sticks with you. 

Stately Homes of Witshire by Waspabi

Word count: 57, 582

My Summary: This fic… ugh this fic! It’s one of those where the characters are amazingly well written and bounce off of each other in a way that just works. So Draco is having a poltergeist problem at Malfoy Manor, and Harry is sent to help. But it’s so much more than just a run of the mill poltergeist. It’s changing shapes, always taking the form of one of his dead ancestors. Of course, there is witty banter between them and some tug-at-your-heart lingering looks and touches. Of course, every time Harry smiles or does something endearing Draco just can’t help but think about how much he hates it – wink wink. Even the paintings are interesting side-characters. The plot is totally engaging, and the one-liners are so entertaining. I knew it would be one of my favorites halfway through.

In Pieces by Dysonrules

Word count: 85,271

My Summary: I usually avoid fics like this because just from the summary, I knew it was going to be heart breaking. But this fic… it’s beautifully heartbreaking. There is an overtone of sad longing for most of the fic, but the pining is just… ugh so good! Basically, Harry goes to teach at Hogwarts as the DADA teacher, and on his first day, Ghost!Draco shows up to haunt him. Of course, they end up getting close after the initial Harry wanting to kill him all over again thing blows over. I don’t want to give too much away, but read it! Seriously!

Azoth by zeitgeistic (faire_weather)

Word count: 88,722

My Summary: There is nothing I don’t love about this fic. Sassy Hermione? Here for it! Snape being a one-liner king of a portrait while actually helping Harry? You bet your ass! This fic literally made me laugh and cry. The sex scenes weren’t too heavy, and they were more sensual. The symbolism between the bogart and the heart’s desire for Harry is so beautifully woven into the story. The alchemy and science – don’t even get me started! It was so well written, I have no idea how much of it is actually based on fact. It’s featured heavily, but not in a way that makes the reader feel like an idiot. Harry is so in love with Draco and Draco is so afraid, but Harry never doubts his love. He lets Draco come to him. Their friendship and build up is so beautiful, and just! Ugh! Go read this right now!

Way Down We Go by xiaq

My Summary: Harry and Draco both have the same idea to flee after the war. They (of course) end up in the same small American town. As punishment for his crimes, Draco is stripped of his magic and slowly wasting away. Harry, unbeknownst to most of the magical world, was bitten and turned into a werewolf. They strike up a deal to help each other, and fluff ensues. Very cute care/comfort fic.
