First post in a series I'm doing! Basically,I go over the guilt of all the acolytes! How fun!! So this is basically a prologue of sorts,a recap of the circumstances.
Hope you enjoy, and may the divine light lead you to glory untold.
Beginning
At the start, when they had first found out of your presence in Tevyat, they felt disgusted. How could this, this, imposter wear the face of their creator with such pride, such gall?!?
They had even refused to recognize their crimes. They pretended to not know who the divine creator was. Everyone had agreed. The imposter had to die. So they chased the heretic to the ends of the earth, they hurt them, killed them. Yet when the time finally came for their public execution, they did not bleed red. They bled a shimmering gold. Zhongli, the executioner, immediately got down on his knees. What had they done. What had they done?!?
The creator was let out of their shackles, sent to live in a temple with thier acolytes. But the damage had already been done. They had already ruined you with their sins. You withdrew from them, and they lost the light and warmth you had once given them. It was replaced with cold apathy. They tried everything to gain your forgiveness, and some tried more than others. They wept at your feet, only greeted by a cold, unmoving stare. It wasn't working. They had lost the love of their creator, and there was nothing they could do.
The Archons were torn up the most. Despite being allowed by your side, they got the coldest treatment. Zhongli didn't miss the way you flinched when he summoned his polearm to defend you. Venti noticed the way you seemed irked by his songs. Ei saw the way you tensed up when she entered the room. The only one spared from this harsh treatment was Nahida. You didn't flinch or tense around her. She didn't seem to annoy you. But not even she was let off completely scotch free. She was almost constantly ignored, only being spoken to when she initiated the conversation. They were all suffering under the weight of your judging gaze,as well as under the weight of their own guilt.
They would do anything for your forgiveness. Anything at all. Just say the word, and they promise that they'll obey. Give them another chance. They beg you.
Tell me reader, will you? Will you give them the second chance they so desire,or will you let them rot at your feet?
