There’s something so eerie yet perfect about the way Lena Hall sings the song Angry Inch

On one hand, unlike AMAB actors who have played Hedwig, she doesn’t have the experience of having a dick so one could assume it would be harder to imagine it being taken away. But the thing that’s so strange is that there’s something about the way she sings that song that makes it feel like she truly gets Hedwig.

She plays the song with a burning anger rather than the usual choice by Hedwig actors to be making light of the situation (I laugh, because I will cry if I don’t), it’s like she’s tapping into all the frustration of Being A Woman and weaving THAT into the performance instead. That’s just a theory: idk what part of herself tapping into but it’s SO, SO working.

in conclusion lena hall has made it to my top 3 Hedwig portrayals.

-Gender queer and doesn’t label her sexuality

-She has no middle name

-wears cherry flavored lipstick 100000%

-Claims to be vegan for the image, secretly loves turkey.

-His producers made him get a black bob to come across as more sensitive

-Tommy somewhat hates what he’s become and doesn’t even feel like himself anymore.. but anything to keep the money coming

-Cut off his family after he became a success

-Has been cancelled on Twitter 4 times

-Truly never got over Hedwig

not entirely a headcanon but ive been thinking about how like tommy and hedwig probably had to spend some time in the cell thing at the police station after the accident and i ljke to imagine that she called yitzhak to come pick her up

Oh, I love this! I'm embarrassed to say I've never even thought about that, but now that you mention it there is so much to imagine in this scenario, both before and after Yitzhak comes to get her.
