Chakra Yoga Training - Weekend 1
, I contemplated blogging about my training experience for the longest time. From the beginning I knew it was going to be an extremely intimate and difficult experience. I first found out about the 200 hour yoga teacher training a week before it happened. Believing I “wasn’t ready” (financially and emotionally) for the experience, I went in and asked the owner about what options would be best for me. I had my intentions on doing the training in Hawaii in the summer, but some where along the line, I pulled some strings and gathered up the courage to just go forth with the training the following week.  I can say today, three weeks into the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, that it was probably the biggest gift and favor that I have given to myself in my 22 years of existence. And I am not exaggerating. Never have I ever seen myself grow and learn so much in such a short period of time, and we’re just barely half way there. I find myself eager to learn, present in lectures and finishing homework long before it’s due date. It’s almost overwhelming actually, how I’ve literally watched my life change before my eyes. It happened almost overnight, actually. I decided to detox and give up drinking for good - something I haven’t done since I was 19. (Anyone who knows me, knows I loooooove whiskey) And ever since then, all I kept doing was make better decisions for myself. It was easy.  On our second week of training, the 7 Chakras were introduced to us. We spent maybe an hour and a half in our training exploring the 7 chakras and how they resonate with behavior, energy and moods and that was it.... I know.  I was like “...what?!? that’s it?” an hour and a half is NOT enough to fully grasp and understand the 7 chakras. Especially since you JUST explained that they’re the wheels of life...energy that controls my moods. With the stress and happenings of everyday life and matters, these so called “chakras” or wheels, get clogged up, resulting in stress, anxiety and illness, mental as well as even physical. THAT’S the reason why we move our bodies and do pranyama breathing in this practice we call yoga..THAT’S THE POINT OF YOGA.
Enter Chakra Yoga Training Module. This is an extra branch that was offered in my teacher training. It worked out in our favor because it was in the opposite weekends of our 200 hour yoga teacher training. I was pretty hesitant at first, but I figured..what the heck. I already have those weekends off. What’s another 500 or so dollars? As my mom says “the main course has already been set, might as well bring out the condiments too.”  I’m also low key addicted to the energy and rush I get from being in that environment, that safe, sacred place of being heard, being invited and most importantly, encouraged to learn. To grow as people and to know that it’s ok to fall apart, because it’s only then that you can slowly be able to rebuild a better and stronger you.  The first day of Chakra training, we just dove right into it. We started class was a really intense and long guided chakra meditation. It lasted about 40 minutes. “Imagine an opening at the top of your head. And on your exhale, picture the world’s most purest and freshest water just being poured into that opening, clensing and clearing out all of your chakras from your third eye, through your spine down to your root...”  I’m not sure just how much meditating I got done in that 40 minutes, but it was extremely difficult for me to just sit still.  The rest of the day was talked mostly about the first Chakra. The Root. The color is red and the seed sound is LAM. (we place hands on the regions of our chakras and chant the seed sound to unblock and trigger the chakra.) This is the region between your hip down to your feet. Representing grounding, this Chakra holds all of your survival instincts: trust, home, money and food. The first Chakra also resonates with the right to live..the right to be here in this earth. We spend a good amount of time going over this and how it is a foundation of all the chakras.
Today was probably the most draining day. I can honestly say that even though I knew most of the people in the chakra training from the YTT training, it was hard for me to speak. It felt like I was preventing myself from sharing or something. We moved on to Chakra 2, The Sacrel. This is your right to want, to desire and to create. Needless to say, it is about sex, addiction, and food. Located in the belly region, this is where all of your emotions are stored. One Lucia shared was butterflies in the stomach when you’re excited. Or when you get so upset, your stomach starts to turn. One activity we did that stuck with me was a primal dance, which I named myself, because I don’t remember what it was called. Lucia had us start in sphinx pose with our eyes closed, then instructed us to get comfortable and just allow our bodies to move around without any judgement. By the end of the activity, we were all emotionally drained. Half of us were crying our eyes out and the other half just sat there dazed and confused. I personally noticed myself fall into a state of anxiety. One minute I was listening to one of my peers share their experience and another minute, everything around me got blurry. I noticed myself taking shallow breaths as a did my best to ground myself, swallowed a few times and pull myself out of anxiety. It’s crazy and scary to think that when you’re opening yourself in that sense, unleashing whatever that’s stuck in your chakras, you start to become sensitive of energy around you and are able to pick up other people’s nega

When living a modern lifestyle– you know what it feels like to be depleted. No energy left at the end of the day. Exertion, emotional stress, anxiety, and insomnia are the characteristics of a fast-paced lifestyle that take over the physical and emotional health of a person. The frequent experiences of low energy levels and fatigue are the precursors to many health issues including thyroid disorders and hormonal imbalances.you can visit our website... www.spirituallifehome.comwww.spiritualschoolofyoga.comEmail [email protected] +91-8171292406.

The upper body often harbors tightness and tension caused from bad habits, especially poor posture from hunching over to look into smartphones or sitting for the majority of the day. The good news is that yoga postures can help stretch the upper body and release this tension, leaving us to feel more open, healthy and happy in the process. Stretch to create space in your upper body by practicing this yoga posture. Whatsapp +91-8171292406

For many, yoga is a path to physical health. A solid, consistent practice can improve your strength, flexibility, coordination—and even your mental well-being. While all of these benefits are appealing, it can be difficult to know how to start your own practice. This is especially true if you're not comfortable going to a studio.you can visit our website... www.spirituallifehome.comwww.spiritualschoolofyoga.comEmail [email protected] +91-8171292406
