Hello! I’m not in the k-pop sphere, so honestly I couldn’t really give you that great of recs?? Especially since I know a lot of k-pop groups can be problematic?? There were so many fcs out there that I didn’t include because Google searches came back ugly. BUT I can give you korean fcs that fit that vibe! A lot of k-pop artists go into acting, so I divided it that way. But there are also great recs that aren’t in the k-pop industry specifically, including fcs who are in sports!   Une jeune femme se suicide suite à du cyberharcèlement. Deux camarades de classe, aspirant à devenir policiers se lancent dans une enquête car des indices leur laissent à penser qu’il s’agit d’un meurtre…

    “Sosyeolpobia” (소셜포비아), ou “Socialphobia” pour la distribution internationale, est un thriller dramatique sud-coréen datant de 2015, co-écrit et réalisé par Hong Seok-jae, qui signe là son premier long-métrage. Les acteurs principaux sont Byun Yo-han, qu’on a également pu voir dans “Will You Be There ?” (2016), Lee Joo-seung, qu’on a également pu voir dans “Broken” (2014), et Ryu Jun-yeol, qu’on a pu voir dans “Hit-and-Run Squad” (2019). Ce métrage a obtenu une vingtaine de nominations et a reçu une douzaine de prix.

L’histoire proposée par “Socialphobia” positionne le curseur sur Ha-young (Ha Yoon-kyeong), une jeune femme se cachant sous le pseudonyme de Re-na sur la toile et qui s’est construite une réputation de diffamatrice spécifiquement immorale. Une fois qu’elle a quelqu’un dans le nez, elle ne lâche plus le morceau, jusqu’à ce que la personne disparaisse des réseaux sociaux. Malheureusement pour elle, sa dernière prise de position contre un militaire met le feu aux réseaux sociaux, et elle devient la cible des railleries, jusqu’à la diffusion de sa véritable identité et finalement, de son adresse personnelle. Un groupe d’individus décide de débarquer chez elle pour la forcer à s’excuser dans une pseudo émission en live. Lorsque ceux-ci arrivent à destination, il trouve la victime pendue. La police classe rapidement l’affaire comme étant un suicide. Mais Ji-woong (Byun Yo-han) et son camarade Yong-min (Lee Joo-seung), tous deux membres de l’expédition punitive, aspirant à devenir policiers, décident de mener leur propre enquête, persuadés qu’ils sont face à un meurtre.

Du script, on retiendra donc la pseudo-enquête menée par les deux principaux protagonistes, Ji-woong et Yong-min, qui vont finir par se déchirer, en essayant de donner du sens à la mort de Ha-young. On peut y voir une forme de culpabilité, car ayant participé à cette chasse aux sorcières, tant sur les réseaux sociaux que dans l’action en participant à la descente punitive chez l’intéressée, ils se sentent coupables d’être à l’origine de ce décès. Un groupe de 5 à 6 personnes supplémentaires se forme autour d’eux. Cependant, plus on avance dans le temps et l’absence de faits probants, plus le groupe s’amenuise.

Le scénario concocté par Hong Seok-jae, Jo Seul-ye, Kwon O-rang, et Koo Sung-mo, met en lumière des profils qui sont relativement similaires, les individus faisant preuve d’originalité dans leurs profils sur le net, mais sont sans réelles dimensions dans la vraie vie. La photographie proposée par Lee Sung-joong montre des visuels de divers partages de textes, messages, et images sur les réseaux sociaux dans un rythme parfois frénétique, ce qui donne une certaine esthétique graphique. On ne peut donc pas passer à travers la critique de l’utilisation abusive et/ou malsaine des nouveaux médias, en s’asseyant sur l’éthique et la morale. Les personnages agissent au nom d’une communauté, sans réfléchir à l’impact de leurs actions. Il y a une forme d’arrogance et d’inconscience dans leurs propos et dans leurs actes, rapidement mis en lumière lors de l’audition par l’inspecteur de police dans la première partie du métrage.

Personnellement, je n’ai pas tellement été convaincu par la prestation des principaux acteurs. Byun Yo-han et Lee Joo-seung, qui incarnent les deux principaux personnages, sont assez proches en matière de caractères. Le jeu d’acteur est plutôt moyen, on ne s’identifie à aucun d’eux, ils ne nous donnent pas l’envie d’adhérer à leur quête, à leur cause. Le personnage le plus intéressant est probablement Ha-yeong, incarnée par Ha Yoon-kyung. L’actrice apparaît peu à l’écran, en dehors de quelques flashbacks narratifs lorsque des “témoins” racontent la personnalité de cette dernière et les événements dont ils ont été témoins. La bande originale orchestrée par Kim Hae-won est loin d’être marquante et l’édition présentée par Park Min-seon permet d’équilibrer le rythme du film en gardant le spectateur concentré juste suffisamment.

En conclusion, “Socialphobia” est un thriller honorable disposant d’une histoire sur un sujet d’actualité, d’une intrigue un peu embrouillée et d’un développement quelque peu brouillon. Le rythme est logique, le récit manque de fluidité par endroits et la narration fait appel à quelques flashbacks pour installer la personnalité spécifique de la victime. La photographie est simple, la bande originale est sommaire et l’édition permet de garder le spectateur suffisamment focalisé pour ne pas le perdre en route. La distribution n’est pas pleinement satisfaisante avec une absence de réelle personnalité. Personne ne se dégage vraiment du lot. Un film qui reste agréable à regarder, mais qu’on ne gardera pas longtemps en mémoire…
