The thing about Yoonmin that fascinates me is how their actions are so drastically opposite of what in general is considered "fanservice" and yet they remain as one of the popular duos (if not a ship) for ads, fanfiction, promotion, etc. Like they haven't even collaborated much (out of BTS obviously) apart from Tony Montana, they genuinely bicker and one-up and shade each other all the time, have like minimum skinship and yet or perhaps due to this, they kind of share this insane chemistry. Like I see it now, what everyone's been talking about. Just letting the two of them share screen space their whole vibe just lights up, whether they're actually shooting a script or just being themselves. Authentically as a duo yoonmin are hilarious, (and might I say this without fear, they are kind of romantic too sometimes) while literally pulling each other's leg. I guess my eyes just opened up to Yoonmin this year and now I'm in deep 🙃.

Lmfao I GENIUNELY cannot tell if you are a yoonmin shipper and got confused about if I am also a yoonmin shipper. (I'm not, nor do I think they are romantic in their moments... they are just my biases and they do love each other more than anything for sure) I love their moments and interactions so much though too. They are so lovely together. Their vibes DO light up my screen always! I hope you enjoy yoonmin as much as you can, they have ALWAYS been this way, since the very beginning 🥰

Exhibit b) The live they did after their UN speeches.

V is the one who starts the whole thing by making fun of Jimin apologising after he made his mistake during his speech. (I already talk about JK being there for Jimin here) Other members chime in and at first Jimin is laughing with them. But then at some point he stops laughing, just sits there as they continue to make fun of him. Then he starts chewing on his nails which alot of the time is a sign of nerves

And he absolutely shrinks in on himself. Of course JK notices immediately and that's when he tells the members to cut it out. He tells them how they should be making Jimin feel better. Not making fun of him. Immediately all the members, at the same time, backtrack. They start praising Jimin and saying how they get it.

Because we don't talk about Yoonmin 😏 we have to note that all of them made fun of Jimin but JK only spoke up after Suga said this

Yes. Seven. The summer song of the year. Love to watch it. Love to hear it. So, I think we can all agree its a sex song. Period. That's what it is. It's a proper love making song. A topic we love to discuss on this side of tumblr.... but, have we stopped for a second to explore the romantic side of SEVEN?

So we established SEVEN is basically satellite Jeon in a nutshell. Which that alone is quite big. Always wanting to be with your person, next to your person no matter what. But JK chasing after his love interest from beginning to end till she gives in shows;

He would do anything for the one he loves. He would walk through fire. Through storms. Go anywhere... if it means its for the one he loves. He is devoted, he is all in. Deeper than the ocean. And this is basically what this post is all about, really. JK's devotion for Jimin. Deeper than the God damn ocean.

So what we have discovered is that JK is a generous lover... a considerate lover... Puts his partner first. JK is a "it's okay baby, you can tend to me later, this is about you" kind of guy. He is the "I won't come until you've cum" type of dude.

Jikook don't have an only fans so we haven't seen this in action and there4 have no way of knowing that JK is like this in the bedroom. BUT, considering the fact that he prioritises Jimin all the time, we have seen this happen, I dont see why we can't assume this part of him extends to the bedroom too! Right? Jimin made the group ramen (his specialty) and as u can see JK was already telling him how perfect it tastes and yet he hadn't even tasted it yet. Even editors noticed 😂😂

Bv 1 finale no one praises Jimin's santa and he laments as much.

We know our Mimi loves to be complimented and praised; absolutely feeds off of that shit. And JK knows this which is why he immediately tells Jimin "yours is the best" Jimin is so happy to hear this, cheeses so hard that even the editors notice.

Something about this moment drives home to me the fact that Jimin doesn't cook well, at home. JK does. But we already knew this from Jin ("Jungkook is Jimin's chef")

On the topic of praises, when other members try to make fun of Jimin JK will quickly make sure Jimin knows he doesn't feel the same way. This and exhibit b are like sisters. They can go hand in hand 😆

So Bon Voyage season 1 Jimin was cooking for Jin. As soon as Jimin placed the plate on the table JK did not once take his eyes off of it.

And, this was after JK kept going to keep an eye on Jimin cooking even though they weren't team mates or nothing. I'm telling y'all, Jimin sits pretty at home while JK does all the cooking. Anyway, when Jin tastes the food he says;

But the way he says it, its like he's taking the piss. It wasn't complimentary. So JK of course went;

And he couldn't get to that dish fast enough

And he devoured the rest of it

While the rest, mind you, are still making fun of Jimin/his dish. But JK didn't give a shit. His baby had made that plate and by God he was going to enjoy every second of it.

Once again, to me, this cements my theory that JK doesn't get to eat Jimin's food often. He gets way too excited when Jimin cooks, can't wait to taste his food, etc etc.

Which brings us to our next example where one time Jimin brought the entire group cucumber drinks and they hated it. Jhope goes on to explain just how much they hated the flavor.

There is a chorus of all the members agreeing with Jhope and even Jimin accepts that the cucumber drinks were terrible. But low and behold, look what the boyfriend had to say about it

Look, in JK's eyes, Jimin can do no wrong, okay? To JK, Jimin is perfect and that's that. End of story: No further questions. This behaviour is what I was talking about on my whipped post here.

Exhibit e) When JK checks on Jimin.

I don't gotta show many examples of this we've all seen it. JK always craning his neck over members to see what Jimin is up to. He always likes to know where Jimin is, what he's doing, which imo is amazing boyfriend behavior if ask me.

A moment I've never seen talked about anywhere from BV 1; JK comes into the RV to check on Jimin who's sleeping.

I know he came to check on Jimin because he walks in, takes a peak, then walks back out. Almost like he had confirmed Jimin was okay and now he could go about his business.

Not a YoonMin-er but would like to add my thoughts around this beautiful relationship. Yoongi was indisputably the member that influenced Jimin’s mindset pre-debut. His words of encouragement to a teenager who was being left in the limbo day in day out was so profound that Jimin has referred to it many many times. Yes Jimin himself is mentally strong and capable but we all need someone in our corner and for Jimin, that person was Yoongi. I also believe that because Yoongi was already making music and part of the industry in some way, his words held more weight.

I do feel that Jimin is closest to Yoongi (after JHope), and Namjoon more than Jungkook and V. Because of how Jimin thinks and because of what Yoongi himself has been through in terms of mental and emotional struggle. YoonMin to me are the true soulmates. They bicker, they make fun of each other. But let someone else do it and then will see red. Their relationship is so beyond the normal brotherhood and friendships.

For all the hate Yoongi gets from JM solo stans about the comments he makes (and admittedly some have been or could be perceived as being in bad taste), Jimin himself would never crucify Yoongi for them. I don’t even think he would take these comments seriously. And if Jimin’s ment at DDay finale wasn’t proof enough if their special bond (he literally called out Yoongi for being a bad host and not introducing his guest, at the guys own show infront of 100s of 1000s of people 😂😂😂), I don’t know what is.

I don’t know whether they had anything between them or not. Most likely not. But it seems that currently Yoongi is the only one Jimin would listen to. He only had to beg twice for a LC and TM performance and he didn’t even bribe whereas poor Jungkook has offered chicken, bam, boxing and even nakedness and got no Jimin 😂😂😂😂

Poor JK needs to beg some more. Maybe he can do a mukbang again with some Kimchi Jigae…but wait, Taeyang already offered that to Jimin 😂😂😂😂

You say you're not a yoonminer but after reading your ask, I'm very curious about what you are. It's interesting that you feel Jimin is closest to Yoongi because of what they've both been through "...in terms of mental and emotional struggle" and while I understand that yoonmin have bonded over shared personal journeys, I feel this could be said more for Yoongi's relationship growth with Hoseok and Namjoon. It's not often alluded to in the fandom but Hoseok and Joon have had their own deep struggles with depression and insecurity, and the way Yoongi and Hoseok have been able to emotionally open up to each other, the way Yoongi has deepened his emotional connection to and respect for Namjoon over the years, make Yoongi’s relationships with Namseok foundational to him in the group. Or like soulmates, to use your words. More so than with Jimin, in my opinion.

It’s also interesting that you say “They bicker… but let anyone else do it and then they will see red.” …but don’t you notice all the times this happens and it’s Jungkook that’s seeing red? To Yoongi?

Just off the top of my head, during their last visit to the UN when Jimin made that cute gaff and the guys were joshing him for it after. Yoongi (and a couple others) kept going, twisting that little pain point and JK (plus Hobi) was the first to put an end to it. Jungkook did it in such a sassy way too, considering he was speaking to people older than him. I’m not sure if it was captured in the English subtitles, but Jungkook very easily laid down the law in one second, signalled to the others that they were close to crossing a line in teasing Jimin. Not like Jimin needed his help, but it’s still worth noting that very publicly in their least rehearsed moment (on Vlive) it was JK speaking up.

Jungkook also damn near jumped Yoongi with a frying pan too, in that one RUN BTS episode (ep 100 I think) for mistakenly hitting Jimin. Jungkook in general is pretty big, so how you’ve missed that muscle bunny showing up to show out for Jimin, almost everyday for 10 years, is a real curiosity for me.

I agree with you that in terms of emotional outlets, Yoongi is one of the steadfast sounding boards for Jimin. There’s a lot about those two that does indicate that in another life, they would be kindred souls and I guess in some ways they already are. But today, in this universe, I can’t really say Jimin is closer to Yoongi than to Jungkook. I just don’t see it.

We don’t really know any of them, and who they are close too at various points changes all the time depending on whatever’s happening in their real lives, but Jimin today gives me the sense he’s somewhat detached from everyone in the group for long stretches so he can focus on his solo work. I’m not really seeing anything to tell me there’s been a massive shift and he’s now closer to Yoongi than to Jungkook. He could have become closer to Yoongi than before, to be as close to Yoongi as he is to Jungkook, maybe, but jikook’s relationship fundamentally remains the same in Chapter 2.

Don't take it from a shipper pov, this is a genuine question.

Jimin talks about suga a lot. And he talks so highly of him. Every time jimin or suga talks about each other it gives an expression that if anyone knows jimin the best then it's suga.

Even jin once mention when he had to write what each member is to jimin, jin said to jimin, suga is seat next to my soul.

Now Taemin said that he know about suga through jimin and he already felt a sense of closeness. Imagine how jimin have talked about yoongi for taemin to say that.

And evey time this year jimin talked about yoongi it sounds like jimin always shares everything with yoongi, yoongi and him always have drinks together, yoongi always seems to know jimin the best.

And the way jimin these days talks a lot about suga.

It's really not a shipping question I'm just genuinely curious as a jimin fan. Because I don't really like yoongi but to me it looks like yoonmin is suddenly so close.

I don't think Suga and Jimin's bond has gotten closer. They've always had a bond like this but it's often overlooked. It's been like this since they started and it's pretty stable.

In Jimin's Suchwita episode he said his ambition to be in BTS started because of a comment Suga made:

So if you think about it, Jimin's foundation comes from Suga believing in him. Jimin's debut was challenging because they kept threatening to cut him from the team so words from someone like Suga made him keep going.

I feel like Jimin sees Suga as a guy of wisdom. Suga has lived through a lot and managed to make it despite having all the circumstances against him. He praises Jimin's voice, picks Jimin before everyone else, wants to produce songs for Jimin. Suga would cook for Jimin back in their dorm days too. During quarantine, Jimin would talk to Suga on the phone daily. When Suga had his shoulder surgery, Jimin was present during phyisical therapy. So they go way back and continue now.

I think of their relationship like a mentor mentee kinda thing plus the fact that they are friends. I do think that Jimin goes to Suga for professional and life advice. Suga can give Jimin painfully honest unbiased advice since he knows Jimin's professional and private life.

Jimin is a guy who cherishes his friendships and values those who value him. It seems like their friendship is not one sided so it makes sense that it keeps stable.

A lot of people aren't fully aware of their bond and many who are tend to misinterpret it which is sad because they do have a lot of history and moments but none that should be taken in that manner.

Even as a non-shipper, two things always jump out at me about the current air in regards to Jikook.

1) The fact that people can't even ship them jokingly. People will scream into a pillow about JK and his crush on RM, about Jimin and Jin being chaos cuties, or about Sope being...just Sope and no one gives a fuck. But the moment Jikook is the conversation topic, everyone's always "aw such besties". Like you never see anyone call JK whipped for JM or vice versa even in the way they do with other non serious ships? It's really fucking weird

2) I'm no expert on SK military procedures. But if there were two dudes who enlisted as part of a program with the purpose of staying together 18 months. To protect them both, to make them better soldiers, to help them serve their country? Why would you then go out of your way to separate them? My BFF has been in the military for years and he's been serving with the same team for most of that time. You bet your ass no one is gonna rip tight nit groups apart, that's incredibly demoralising. Which you don't need on the base that is so close to the literal border of North Korea. Like why is this even a discussion point in the shipping community? This is the furthest from romantic or cute or whatever I can think of? Our 7 men are risking their lives and mental health every day for their country, after holding up the economy almost single handedly mind you, without being asked if they wanted to. And People use this mandatory enlistment to further rumours about them? Kinda insane. I won't ever celebrate what we hear about BTS and their training, because I only want to know they're safe. Let them do this job in peace

I've noticed the same weirdness around Jikook. People can't even kid about it without getting awkward and making it weird. I love Sope and NamJin and JinKook even Yoonmin, basically every ship/friendship pair but Taekook (because the cult ruined the fun for me). I don't know why it's so hard for other people to love Jikook the same way. See them as lovers, see them as besties, see them as brothers - their relationship is still lovely and wholesome, and I think it should be admired no matter what anyone believes is the true nature of their feelings for one another.

I agree also that it makes no sense to separate men who enlist under the buddy system. The government makes them jump through too many hoops just to qualify for the option. After all that, they'd never pull them apart. Like you said, close-knit units are part of the driving force of any military. A good team can perform miracles. Jimin and Jungkook enlisted together, they are assigned together, they are in the same dorm, the same camp, the same everything. That's the way they planned it and the way they wanted it. If I see one more cultist or solo stan playing the "mean old BigHit made them do it" card, I really will go insane.

i’m writing a fan fiction between two characters and i’m confused on how to write the dialogue. i was wondering if you had any tips on that?

Hi bestie !! I’m excited for you! I’ll admit that sometimes I have a hard time with dialogue too, so you’re so valid for that. I will also admit that I’ve had a few cocktails tonight so this advice might be bad !! 🤪

Sometimes when I’m stuck on a scene, I only write the dialogue. our brains get so focused on making the descriptions, imagery, and actions perfect that we lose the dialogue sometimes. Maybe try only writing what’s being said in a scene, and then going back to add the rest later

Also consider character planning. How do the characters speak? Do they use slang? Are they into using fancy words or simpler diction? Sometimes it depends on their upbringing or their level of education. Or perhaps they’re a vampire who has lived for hundreds of years and hasn’t gotten caught up with the times!

Consider the relationship between the two characters. Do they bicker? Are they besties? Is one older than the other or trying to impress the other? Is one more vulgar and the other more proper?

I’m also a fan of reading my writing out loud. I think that’s a good way to tell if the dialogue feels natural. Cuz you don’t always have to say everything. Sometimes a scene is great with very little dialogue.

I’m gonna put some of my favorite scenes I’ve written under the cut that have to do with dialogue as an example. I hope this helps!! I know it’s not perfect and I’m definitely not an expert writer, but this is basically how I think through my fics

I love the characters in this fic cuz they’re just a bunch of stoners in their 20s who find out aliens exist lmfaoooo so I get to have a lot of fun with really casual dialogue and slang, and the characters are high for most of the fic so it’s a chance to play around with intoxicated dialogue

This dialogue also gives me a chance to tell my readers that Taehyung named Yoongi’s car Mary Jane (marijuana - if you didn’t get the joke lol) without having to literally write “taehyung named Yoongi’s car mary jane because they’re stoners” lol yknow?? Showing not telling, and all that jazz

I use little pieces of body language throughout the dialogue so you can have an idea of the visuals that compliment what they’re saying

And I use a moment of silence to emphasize how awkward they’re being with each other - so sometimes what they’re not saying is just as good as what they’re saying

And then this last one is just Yoonmin bickering cuz we love Yoonmin bickering! But i feel like this is a conversation i would have with my little sister lol we’re always teasing each other being annoying

Anyway !!! Like I said, I hope this helps. Idk if I’m good at explaining these things 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I really like to talk about writing!!

People who “believe” in Yoonmin actually think this way:

1. Yoongi is cool and he needs a trophy. What most precious trophy can he have? Ofc Jimin - cute and sexy princess looks good near savage king

2. Taekook is real (bs). We need to attach Jimin to smn who is not Tae and Jk. Yoongi seems the best choice

3. Old married dynamic is funny. So Yoongi and Jimin must be married (tbh Tae and Yoongi have the same dynamic. Even more, Yoongi always talks about how Tae is beautiful and charming and talented and he looks at him with heart eyes. And in 2018-2021 they were forever together. While Jimin receives no compliments (for the last 5 years) and the main insult target. BUT! But Tae is destined to be with Jk, so nope)

4. A rapper needs his vocalist. Well, understandable. Their stage power is insane

It is not a hateful ask. I appreciate your way of discussing Yoonmin (no hate, some interesting points). But it seems to me Yoonmin is 99% a fabricated ship/couple. People who ship Yoonmin are Yoongi-biased or Taekookers. 99% of shippers don’t ship them because of.. Jimin. He is like a toy for them

This is a strange ask because you’re presuming to know how I think, when your points here are things I’ve never said. Not only that, I’ve actually said the exact opposite of these things on more than one occasion. There’s a lot here, but I’ll try to address each point at least briefly.

1. No, Yoongi does not need a trophy, and Jimin is not a trophy. They are each wonderful, complete human beings in their own right.

2. Not sure why you’re telling me this. I don’t consider myself a taekooker (although I am a tkk observer; I think they have an interesting dynamic!) Most of my ym friends/moots are not tkkers either.

3. Gosh, I don’t know where to begin. Yoongi and Jimin both tease each other. It is not a one-way street. And Yoongi has complimented Jimin many, many times, from telling him during pre-debut that he believes in him to saying Jimin’s voice is his favorite. He said just recently that Jimin is a hard worker and a genius. He predicted a bb hot 100 spot for Like Crazy. I could go on and on.

If you watched Ddeun Ddeun, you’d know they discussed their bickering/Tom and Jerry dynamic. Maybe you should consider watching it?

4. I have never known an actual adult who seriously believes this. Is this something people joke about or…? I don’t think people’s professions determine who they are a good match with.

As for your last point, I’m actually Jimin biased.

As for the ship being contrived, if you go through my posts, you’ll see that the majority of them are based on the words that Jimin and Yoongi say themselves. I’m not “analyzing” or spinning elaborate theories. I try to stick to the facts. If those facts aren’t convincing to you, that’s totally fine. But you seem to be making broad assessments of yoonminers in general. I’m not responsible for other people. I can only speak for myself.

Take a stroll around this blog. I hope you’ll see I take a slightly different approach than many shippers. My brain likes lists and facts and putting moments in chronological order so I can understand the trajectory of a relationship. I didn’t pick and choose yoonmin and think they’d be cute together. They offered up information that I could not ignore.

I was going through some of your asks and your responses but what i want to mention now is something I don’t think you taekookers have realized yet or maybe you have but just have not been able to admit it.

So Jk will most probably support Tae. He might sing a few of his songs on Live and depending on Tae’s promotion, Jk might show up for him just as he showed up for Jk. But…….for your own peace of mind, don’t expect Jk to go as far as he went for Jimin. Jk won’t do that. I’m not someone who sees the future to know ofcourse but i am talking based on precedents. Now let me ask you, have y’all ever seen Jk hype Tae up as he does Jimin? Have u ever paid attention to the members while they were reacting to MV’s? Did u ever see Jk hype anyone up as much as he did Jimin? Short answer no! And b4 u get me wrong it’s not cuz i think Jk is dating Jimin no! It cuz Jk has made it clear only a million times that Jimin inspires him. He loves the music Jimin makes. He admires Jimin’s work ethic, he loves his art and in his own words, Jimin is his catalyst! Jk has sang every single one if Jimin’s songs except alone and Face off. He wasn’t necessarily doing it to be supportive, probably just cuz he actually enjoys watching Jimin. Seeing that youtube recommended a funny video of BTS teasing Jimin, his algorithm must be filled with Jimin content cuz he probably watches alot of it. He started since 2016, excitedly singing Jimin’s songs on his Lives and Vlogs. He knows a majority of Jimin’s songs by heart, some because he was literally always there with him for rehearsal after everyone else including his “boyfriend” had left (serendipity, filter) so Jk knows these songs.

Y’all may have not noticed it but even though Taekook share their songs with each other first, Jk doesn’t seem to know the lyrics to Tae’s songs. Hell he literally said it. On his birthday live last year, he tried singing along to “Christmas Love” but turned the song off and said he didn’t know the lyrics. On his last live, he played “winter bear” but only hummed along to it cuz he probably doesn’t know the lyrics that well and he didn’t even wait for the song to end b4 he turned it off. This is not me trying to be offensive, i’m just stating facts.

Notice how pple have never really had to ask for Jk to listen to Jimin’s song b4 he did? He did it on his own always, with the only exception being “letter” all the other songs he listened to, no one asked him to do it. I asked which therapists they've been seeing to work through their relationship struggles- turns out they really have been seeing and working with a therapist if not anything to help them transition and be become independent of eachother as they set into solo careers.

The most attached to the group would suffer the most. I'm glad we can all agree it's not Jungkook. Too many PJMs gave me grieve for pointing out JMs OT7 agenda conflicted with Jungkook's desire for independence of the group. I was told I was crazy and slurred at because to others Jungkook is the one super attached to the group.

Hi BPP! Just wanted to ask how you’d do things if you were in my position. So my situation is very specific and I really don’t know my place in ARMY spaces. Here’s why:

1. My favorite dynamic among all bangtan pairings is definitely yoonmin. The constant bickering just makes me laugh so much and wish for more. I absolutely love how they just constantly challenge each other.

2. My biases are vmin. I resonate the most with Jimin. His existence makes me cry. I am in love with Tae. Everything about him makes me melt. Jimin is my person; Tae is the love of my life.

3. Lastly, I think jikook are dating…? I don’t actively seek their moments so I’m not really a shipper, I think. If anything, I’d be more of a yoonmin/vmin shipper because it’s their moments I look out for. But jikook is the one pair I keep side-eyeing because their interactions just bring out a lot of question marks in me. They have weeeeird energy, idk it’s hard to explain. How I feel is like how Seokjin reacted when Jimin was explaining the hickey (????) thing.

So to summarize, yoonmin gives me butterflies. vmin gives me a double serotonin boost. jikook makes me release an exasperated but endearing sigh (I say endearing because they’ve still become my top 3, not bcs of their dynamic—too cheesy for me lol—but bcs it seems they make each other the happiest).

Having mentioned all that, I find it really hard to express myself in ARMY member x member spaces (mostly on twitter).

Among yoonmin lovers, there’s a subgroup consisting of toxic taekookers hating on Jimin. Among jikook lovers, there’s a subgroup of toxic jikookers passive-aggressively hating on Tae.

I feel like I’m relatively safer among vminies in terms of interacting with genuine OT7 fans. BUT a chunk of vminies seem to have this annoying superiority complex over other shippers. A lot can’t even fathom shipping vmin romantically. Some of them sound almost homophobic, “u can’t assume they’re gay unless…” and it irks me especially as a queer person.

The thing is I prefer ship-focused spaces because the general non-shipping part of the fandom has the biggest superiority complex against pairing two people together. And they don’t seem to be genuinely open about the idea of the boys actually being queer. And I just don’t like that.

But it’s just so frustrating to not be able to express my love for my favorite duos without having to do it in separate accounts. And I still don’t feel safe even then, because I’m also second-guessing my audience, “u sure u really love jimin?” “u sure u aren’t token-stanning jungkook?” “u sure u aren’t token-shipping vmin?” “u sure u’re okay with them actually being queer?”

Sorry, you don’t really have to answer. Idk where I was going with this. I just like the thought of this reaching someone.

I've got a few more asks in my inbox like yours, and I recall answering an ask very similar to this almost two years ago - all that to say, I get why you feel your situation might be unique to you and it feels isolating, but ARMY is a huge fandom and I promise you, whatever you're dealing with someone else has gone through before and found their tribe, for better or worse.

There's nothing more to it than curating your space. Someone doesn't think you like Jimin enough despite him being your bias? Unfollow and/or block them. A joker is being obnoxious with their hate boner for Tae? Hasta la vista. And so on. If you don't know these people enough to have a conversation around points of confusion or disagreement, why exactly should you hesitate to prune your online habitat? There's no shortcut to curating your space - you just have to lean into the people whose values align with yours, and cut off the dead weight.

Hopefully that should offer you some comfort.

One more thing I'll tell you now that I told those people then who have asked similar asks before:

If you're the sort of person who is sensitive to how other people think or what they say, being in any big fandom will be a very difficult experience for you. Anyone who is looking for a safe space in fandom is looking in the wrong place. You will always come across weirdos, people who lack basically every literacy skill, conspiracy theorists, and high conflict personalities who think everyone's talking about them or that they're the only people brave enough to obsess over 'taboo' topics. It's enough for you to identify these sorts of people when you come across them, determine for yourself if their values align with yours, if they base their actions in fact and respect for the guys, and act in whatever way that maximizes your peace of mind. It could be a slow process, but with practice you'll get it. Taking frequent breaks and making ARMY friendships offline could help too.

I liked reading your ask because you seem to already have a clear idea of what you like, what you think, and why, but you don't seem like a very assertive person so what I would do might not be practical for you. So I hope all the above are better options for you.

TRIGGER WARNINGS : there’s really nothing to worry about in this chapter, aside from some cute moments.

"Yoongi, please get out of bed. Remember that you're supposed to meet up with Park Jimin today for your first rehearsal together in about… twenty minutes."

A loud groan escaped from beneath the pile of blankets that the male was cuddled up under, hands placed between his legs while lying in the fetal position - his most comfortable way to sleep.

"I know that you're my manager and all, but can you please loosen the reins just a little, Sejin hyung?"

"You know I can't do this. Now, come on. This is your job, remember? This is how you make money and provide for yourself."

"If you need to stop for the night, we can. We're almost done anyway, and we don't need you getting hurt or sick because of this. We have plenty of days and nights that we can work on it." Yoongi said and crossed his arms across his chest, glancing at the iced coffee cup that had sat there empty for a while now.

Jimin seemed to be a bit of a hard-headed individual, because when given the opportunity to go home and rest, he took it upon himself to get up from his spot on the floor so that he could pick up right back where they had left off. "Come on. No one needs to rest until our allotted time."

And so, another hour or so crept by and the both of them managed to finish up the last song, both ready to pass out in their own right. But not before eating a good meal. Luckily, as they were both packing up to go, Manager Sejin had returned from his little outing and got the both of them some Korean food from up the street. The two drooled at the sight and smell while it was being laid out for them on the floor and then grabbed their chopsticks, clicking them together in a "cheers" fashion so they could dig in.

"Thank you for the food, Yoongi-ssi… I will eat well." Jimin said with a bow of his head and then shoved some meat into his mouth almost immediately. Yoongi really wanted to chuckle at him, but he wasn't to the point of showing any full emotions to him quite yet. It always seemed to take him more time than others to warm up to someone, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, he supposed. He was slow to trust and that just meant that once he finally did, it made their friendship worth it in the end.

Once all of the food had been devoured and plenty of small talk ensued, they both stood and threw their trash away. It was now that point in time where they had to deal with awkward goodbyes, even though it didn't really seem that way to Yoongi.

"Well, I guess this is it… You did a really good job tonight, Jimin-ssi. Same time tomorrow or do we want to adjust our schedule a bit?" Yoongi asked softly, sounding a bit like a father instead of a colleague.

"Same time. I think today worked out well! If… That's okay with you, I mean." Jimin was so soft-spoken, and it was really interesting to him because he was actually the exact same way. They seemed to have a bit in common, it seemed.

"No, that's alright with me. Let's keep the time the same unless something comes up last minute." He nodded and then shoved his hands in his pocket, feeling a bit weird because Manager Sejin was just standing behind the both of them while waiting for Yoongi at the door to get him back inside of the car. "Do you need a drive home?"

Jimin's head shook a little, his small hand coming up to run his fingers through his hair and Yoongi just about passed away when the other's forehead was revealed to him. He couldn't believe that the gods had a favorite and he happened to be right in front of him. "No, I'll be just fine. I'll see you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow, Jimin-ssi."

I agree and disagree. I think a lot of idols play gay on stage or on screen because for their career it's actually more safe to be shipped with the other members of their group or other male idols while a dating scandal would be terrible for their popularity. I've seen a lot of idols feed ships even as they're straight themselves.

However I'm not sure if JK counts. He does feed all his ships a little but it's different with Jimin because he looks infatuated with Jimin all the time. He's nervous around Jimin for no reason sometimes. He doesn't act like that with any other member. I don't know if they're together, whether he's acted on it or not or whatever their relationship irl is, but jikook go beyond the bounds of a normal fanservice kpop couple. I have similar thoughts about Yoongi too. I definitely don't think yoonmin have a romantic relationship and I believe they are just good friends but the way Yoongi has acted around Jimin over many years makes me believe he's not completely straight either.

The only thing that makes me pause is because of the number of straight men we see gagging for Jimin that makes me second guess myself 😅

However even beyond Jimin, JK particularly said things during his younger days which I personally relate to as someone who went through their own confused adolescence in the closet.

It's hard to say anything for sure but that's my assesment of it.

Ah thats true. You make a good point.

It makes perfect sense if we are talking about a visibly straight idol that only plays up the ship on stage.

But yeah, Jk doesn't fit that mold. Jikook doesn't really fit the mold of anything I've ever seen in celebrities either.

It's not just friendship, flirting, intimate moments, jealousy, sexual tension, etc...on stage and off stage. Jikook is a mix of everything and Jk is a more than willing participant.

To label him as a straight guy is to slap a heteronormative definition on him (and everything he's done) when him being not straight makes more sense.

It's true that Jimin makes many straight men scratch their head when they see him but Jk is consistent (even Yoongi, I'll give him that, I guess).

Where Jimin and Yoongi are getting a little cozy in the car on the way to pre-recording.

Yoongi and Jimin got inside the car in a balance of all too well known rush of giddiness and leveled calmness.

They headed out even earlier than they should. Just in case, Yoongi said.

Jimin went along - he, uncharacteristically, was ready even before his hyung. Most of the time though, be it their work or personal things, his beloved was more organized and thought every little thing through.

Husband material, Jimin's mind supplied instantly and his heart sang with joy.

The car was just driving past the gates of their complex when Yoongi stretched forward and leaned to speak to their driver. Some moments later the vehicle took a subtle turn. Jimin was so excited by the prospect of getting back to their familiar schedules, their so much loved rush of comeback, it took him a couple of minutes to realize that they weren't driving past the streets they should.

- Hyung, - his voice cracked suddenly, - What's happening?

He moved really close to the producer and was now clutching his forearm with both hands.

- Where are we going, hyung, this isn't the way to go?

Yoongi put his other hand over Jimin's fingers and rubbed them reassuringly. He did it so fast the dancer didn't get to register it.

- Scared, baby? - His voice was spilling out of him like honey, - Don't be, it was me who asked the driver to take the longer route, - Yoongi explained, smiling softly.

He leaned again and pressed the button to raise the partition between them and the front seats. Now it was just them two.

There was so much of mature confidence in his words, his gestures and the way he spoke, Jimin couldn't help but find it really attractive.

With every year the love of his life seems to better like a fine wine.

He adored him in past, present and future.

Yes, a thirty year old Yoongi was something else entirely.

The dancer took his bucket hat off, fluffing his dark hair and leaned in to land a peck on the elder's cheek.

Giving his thoughts not longer than a couple of seconds more he carefully threw his leg over the other's lap in such confined space and sat on soft thighs eagerly. Yoongi raised his eyebrows at that but his eyes were smiling.

- Hyung - he whined cutely, - I thought we were being kidnapped for a minute!

His husband only chuckled and said:

- I wouldn't let it happen. "To you".

It was left unsaid but between the two of them there were so many things that didn't have to be spoken aloud.

So many things he wanted to scream about but there was no need, as long as they were one. Yoongi's large hands lightly squeezed the younger’s shoulders, travelled along the still tense muscles on his back and enveloped his dainty waist.

Jimin sighed in content. Yoongi held him closer and started rubbing his shoulders and back, doing a gods' job with his strong skilled fingers.

- Mm, - the younger was lost in the blissful sensation, - Hyung, go out with me?

The other stopped for a moment before continuing his ministrations.

He only huffed almost breathlessly but when Jimin opened his eyes to cast a glance on his face his cheeks were of a pretty pink hue.

- Why, so suddenly! Waah, so easy Park Jiminie, I only have to rub you in some places.

That earned him a playful swat on his shoulder.

- Not so fast, Min PD. I only asked you out.

Jimin moved close to his hyung’s earrings and whispered:

- Want to take you out on a date, ddung-ah.

He felt Yoongi shiver.

The elder shifted in his seat and they moved so close, almost molded together to perfection.

- Want to treat you to a delicious meal in some posh place I'm sure you'll love, - he continued, - Want to sip expensive whiskey and have you in front of me, all dressed up in brands, shining like diamonds never could.

He felt more than heard Yoongi's breath stutter.

The strong hands were now roaming freely on every part of the body they could reach.

- Want to talk to you about anything, want to listen to you quietly or just sit in silence admiring you, hyung.

Jimins arms were around the elder's neck, holding him close, nose and chin rubbing at sensitive spots and lips lightly touching his temple.

- Let's do that, - Yoongi's voice sounded strained.

He turned his head and found the warm plump lips that were invitingly half open for him

They shared some soft open mouthed kisses first, then they turned into more thorough ones, with tentative licks of the tongues.

Yoongi's hands went to grab Jimin's full behind and squeezed the globes, appreciatively humming into the kiss.

- A-ah, hyung, not so hard, - the dancer giggled.

- But it is, - There came a straightforward movement of his hyung’s hips. - Wish we had more time, Minnie. But there's...

- I understand, hyung, - he was planting gentle kisses along Yoongi's jawline before he stopped and sighed, - This is nice too.

- Yeah?

- Love it, hyung, - Jimin looked in his eyes full of fire, - Love you.

- Love you too, - came a response without any hesitation.

They cuddled for a bit more before the car turned back onto the familiar route.

Before the arrival, Yoongi squeezed the smaller hand, almost enveloping it fully.

- Can't wait for that date, darling. I'll be expecting it with passion.

And he gave the dancer his precious gummy smile.

He looked dazzling and simmering with happiness. Yoongi was proving time and time again that he was it for Jimin.

The only way was to fall deeper and deeper for him, his right person.

Just before they had to get out and proceed with their schedule Jimin thought yet again, he's made the right choice.

Favorite Yoonmin era?

I think 2018/2019 is really fascinating because they were very subtle, but the moments we do see are amazing.

That said, I also have a soft spot for debut era through about 18 months after (2013/2014) because there is so much going on between these two! They were like magnets! It’s so cute to watch them interact, and it also really helps to have context when we look at the later years.

And then of course there is Chapter 2 yoonmin (late 2022-2023), which has been more than I ever could have dreamed. They’ve shared so much with us, details I never would have guessed we’d get to hear. The fact that this era has continued beyond their album promotions and into (what I thought would be) a quiet phase is so heartwarming.
