also me: ok so since theyre the finch family they are depicted in these paintings as different types of finches and this guy is represented as a zebra finch and zebra finches are some of the worst parents when it comes to finches so therefore this guy was most likely neglectful to his children because why else would they make him a zebra finch when nobody else is
