𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐘, 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘. Tarrlok had shrugged off far more troublesome diatribes. The general’s poetic observation was nothing to write home about, after all. It was dressed in the flowery language the councilman was so used to spouting himself.
‘ I shan’t lie — I do enjoy listening to your thoughts.
Perhaps you ought to take up writing in your spare
time, hm? ‘
Tarrlok liquefied in his seat. He was more than prepared to suck up to his fellow authority figures, to mooch fruitily under the guise of formality, but there was no urge to do that here. Like a drowsy tiger he watched General Iroh, calculating and iced with his typical arrogant smirk. It was unclear to him what Iroh was trying to say. Uneasiness pooled in his entrails momentarily as he wondered — is there something he knows that I don’t? Ha! What could he know. Not more than anyone else, that was one thing for certain.

“That’s my seat.”
“But I’m sitting on it now, hmm... I guess, we have three options.” Bumi grinned up at the rudely handsome man.
“You stay standing, but that would not be nice of me.”He counted the options with his fingers as he went, a wink oh so easily slipping to the golden eyes staring back at him. “I scoot and we share, or- my personal favorite- you sit on my lap.”

❛ i don’t feel very human anymore ❜
It stops Shin in his tracks, Iroh’s confession. It being unlikely that a soul would be out at such an hour and Shin was very much one of the unlikelies. He was compelled to leave his room that evening, book tucked under his arm, and making a stop to the kitchen for a warm drink. As if on cue, a breeze passes by in a whisper through the open window, breaking the pause between the two men and bringing Shin back to contemplation.
He seats himself next to Iroh, folding a page in the book neatly as to not lose his place and setting it aside, gingerly placeing a hand on his shoulder. Iroh always appeared to emit self confidence Shin only wish he held a fraction of. Seeing Iroh’s arms hung over his lap, hands laced and head bowed, wasn’t what he imagined he’d find on his way to tea.
“You’re more human than I can imagine anyone could ever be. Take it from an ex-con.” He grinned sheepishly, the smile reaching all the way to his eyes. “I’ll admit, I’m quite envious. You’re surrounded by people who really care about you. I’m not clear as to how you’ve come to feel any less, but I’m sure you’re just being hard on yourself.”

Someone shine a light
"All I’m saying Wen, is that- whenever- wait.” Shiko propped herself up on an elbow on the middle of her bed, the phone forgotten next to the laptop, as she glared at the screen.
“Shikooo” Wen’s voice came from the other side of the call, and she picked the mobile up again, getting up to grab pen and paper.
“Yes, sorry. Can you believe Iroh’s in town and I’m finding out by a Facebook post?” She glared at the picture once more.
Her brother and some guy hugging him by the shoulders, drinking at a bar by the docks. With my favourite person in the world, was the photograph’s caption, and she was seething, who the fuck was that guy, and why hadn’t Iroh told her he was in town?!
“I know! What do you think I’m doing? Going out to find him, of course!” Shiko scribbled down the address from the location tag, put on some ballerina flats, and grabbed a light jacket.
“Oh, Wen what are they going to do? Send me to boarding-boarding school? Besides you should be on my side!” She checked her appearance on the mirrored doors of her closet, overall pleased with her emerald Audrey mini dress, and decided to let her hair off the ponytail. There, oh wait, lipstick! Okay, all done.
“Yes, I’ll let you know how it goes. Of course I’m taking the chauffeur, like I’m going to walk all the way there. I’m reckless Wen, not idiot.” Shiko lowered her voice as she exited her room, and made an easy way around the penthouse, and down to the garage. “Stay on for a moment more, I might need you.”
As she arrived to the guard’s cabin, the door opened, and she smiled sheepishly at Michael, who was already shaking his head. “No Shiko, you know how it goes, last time you got into a lot of trouble.”
“But Michael.” Shiko whined, pouting at the man. “I just got a text from Iroh, he wants me to go meet with him, he’s here!” She grinned widely, batting her eyelashes in her best cute face. The man seemed hesitant, and she just needed one final push to convince him, she knew. Her phone vibrated.
“Look, it’s true.” She opened the messages, and showed Michael the last one, nevermind that it had just arrived, she knew the man wasn’t going to check that, as long as the sender said Iroh. It did. Wen’s second mobile changed names on Shiko’s agenda according to what they needed it to be.
“Okay. But Shiko.” She cut her happy dance short, to stare up at Michael, her hands properly placed behind her back, and a tiny smile on her lips. He sighed, and waved his hand dismissively. “Nevermind. Give me the address, and hop on.”
Shiko handed Michael the paper and got on the car’s front seat. One of her favourite things of travelling alone with him, was that she got to ride shotgun, and put her music on. Much better than going on the back seat, next to her mother and the deafening silence she needed to work on the phone.
They took to the streets, and Shiko returned to her conversation with Wen, enjoying the view as the city’s buildings slowly made way to warehouses and finally the docks, and its nightlife, with bars, clubs and food trucks. Michael’s hands tensed on the steering wheel, and he raised a brow to Shiko, who shrugged cheekily at him in turn.
When they got to the tagged address, Shiko hopped off, thanking Wen for the favour and assuring she’d stay out of trouble. She rolled her eyes as she did so, there was no way she was not going to get in trouble, but it would be worth it, if she got to see Iroh.
Standing by the car, and within Michael’s sight, she sent out a text.
*I’m outside, come meet me!*

He looked the same boy she knew; elegant and cute in his dress robes, his sparkling eyes taking in the city, and his politeness to agree. She had missed him.
It was a shame that she had to hold back; the ship had been as inconspicuous as possible, but his clothes, and the guards were indication enough, and they’d have to hug in close quarters. How royal of them.
“How are you, kid? Was the trip alright?” Lin asked, a hand on his shoulder, and her eyes on the guards behind them. She gave them a court nod, and turned back to her nephew, a clear dismissal of them, she’d take care of the boy.
“We’re going to make a stop at the station, okay? I need to finish some stuff, and grab work to take home, but you can wander around while I’m at it. It’ll be brief.” She reached up to remove the crown from his head, untying his top knot, and ruffling up his hair in the process.
“There, all set.” Lin smiled at him, pocketing the gold headpiece, and motioning for him to follow her. “Although if you want, you can toss those very red robes, and I’ll make you a uniform out of this boat right here.” She joked, nudging him with her elbow, and a smirk.

“ it’s okay to be afraid. fear can be good. use it. ”
Wu looked up at Iroh, heat starting to burn in his cheeks. So he had noticed, huh? Wu had never been much good at hiding things. He looked down again, ashamed of his weakness.
He was afraid. Terrified, in fact. Being the Earth King was the scariest thing he had ever done, and he had once been thrown around by the Avatar on top of a moving train. He didn’t know how he was supposed to to keep doing it, maybe forever. He just knew he was the only one who could.
“Thanks,” he said, his voice cracking. Something compelled Wu to push on. Maybe it was because Iroh was also royalty, might have felt the same pressure. “It’s just--nobody else seems scared. It’s just me. The whole Earth Kingdom is counting on me, and I don’t even know what to do most of the time.” He found himself looking up again, his eyes meeting Iroh’s, searching for something, anything in them that could tell him if he was doing the right thing. “But... that’s okay, right? I just... I just have to do it.”

Azula sighed dramatically, making a show of rolling her eyes, but took his hand nonetheless, letting his arms find proper dance position.
“You know, someone told me once, that being the only aunt, that made me both the favourite, and least favourite at the same time.” She said after a moment, smiling up at him, and Agni if she loved this kid as if she’d birthed him herself. “Any words of wisdom on that, General?”

@youngestgeneral liked for a starter!
As a shipping magnate based in Republic City, Varrick wanted the United Forces Navy on his side, or at least not actively hostile toward him. Varrick knew next to nothing about General Iroh, aside from his obvious fame as the United Forces’ youngest General, but he figured it would only be prudent to make an ally of him. At the very least, he should say hello, so he arranged a little meeting to discuss if the United Forces had any shipping interests.
Of course, Varrick had never actually seen Iroh before.
And boy, what a sight to see. Varrick was struck by Iroh’s dimples, his square jaw, his eyebrows a biplane could take off on. His broad shoulders! If Varrick swooned, he was absolutely certain that Iroh would catch him. It would look great on a poster.
“Wow!” said Varrick, not bothering to filter himself. “You’re a real looker, you know that? If you ever want to leave this whole general gig behind, you could have a real career in the movers.”

I think I’ve always loved you more than myself. No, I know for certain I have.
“Iroh.” His arms tightened around his fiancee’s shoulders, flushing their bodies closer together.
It was only a matter of minutes- fifteen at the most, Shiko had said, glaring at the two of them knowingly, well aware of their penchant to misbehave. Fifteen minutes and I’m dragging you out in whichever state you are, the little girl threatened, and hurried away before she started tearing up again. He’d seen her though, how her bright eyes brimmed with emotion.
Bright golden eyes as the ones of the man he was holding, and watery and happy as his own. Fifteen minutes and counting, and they’d no longer be boyfriends, or fiancees, but husbands. A part of Bumi still believed this was a dream. The most wonderful dream he’d ever had in his life, and more, because he’d never dared to dream this high. Never thought he’d get to hold Iroh like this, kiss him, hear those ridiculously heartwarming words come out of his lips.
“You’re being silly.” Bumis fingers carded through Iroh’s hair, down to the nape of his neck, making their way back tracing over the line of his jaw, to pull his chin up. To meet his gaze from where he was resting on Bumi’s chest. Gods, he could die in those eyes.
The room they were in was wonderful, he was sure. Luxurious, vast, nothing like the shoddy hotel rooms they used to share when they happened to have a leave together. He’d counted at least ten couches and chairs upon entering, and the bed could fit at least four people. They also had a table with some fruits and whatnot, should they want to eat or drink something. Shiko had seen to everything, excitement and her usual excess of energy put into overdrive with the wedding.
They had ignored everything but them. Everything but the simple white shirts, and tan pants, and each other’s arms in the tiniest chaise in the whole suite. It was all that mattered after all. It was all they had ever been, had it not? Just the two of them, messy, and happy; a heap of limbs in a much too tight spot, even before either dared to think beyond the lines of friendship.
“You’re so beautiful. If only you could see yourself through my eyes.” If his chest swelled any more with the amount of feelings cursing through his body this very instant, Bumi would explode, of that he was certain. And yet with each passing second he felt happier, and lighter. His heart coming and going from beating far to fast, and skipping several beats at once with every realization that this was really happening.
“Thank you for saying yes to that dance.” His lips brushed Iroh’s. Brief, soft, just enough so that he would not lose what little composure he had left. So that he could still get up and walk the short way to the hotel’s private beach, where their little sisters were waiting. Were the sea was waiting, for them to embark in this new journey together. “And for every moment after.
“I’ll make my vows out there, but-” His fingers trembled where he was still holding the man of his life, the biggest love he’d ever had, and would ever have. Bumi’s throat closed with affection. “I want you to know- no, I need you to know- should anything happen, no matter what, you’ll always have this. You’ll always have me, and whatever small place we might find at the moment. I’ve been only yours for years now, and I’ll be yours forever, no matter where the tide takes us.
“Always, everywhere, anywhere. Forever.”

I know these are personal but I think I’ll answer the questions for both me and Shin.
3. Last text message
Shin: His mother reminding him his care package was sent out. (Oh, yeah, she’s alive in modern verse, meant to mention that)
Me: The stupid 💃 emoji my mom likes to reply with every single f**king text
6. Dated someone twice
Shin: Twice, thrice? Who’s counting? No, not in his serious relationships, it was in best interest for both his exes not to get back together. Casual meetings are a different story.
Me: My fiancé and I did break up for a few months after our first year together. But we’re still standing strong after eight years.
20. Found out someone was talking about you
Shin: Of course. Wealthy background equals lots of gossip. Who isn’t talking about him? (FYI, he likes the attention)
Me: I work with 300 other people. I get my fair share of people talking about me more often than not and it always comes back to me. I know more than people realize 👀. (I call it ‘leverage’)

How did I get such a wonderful little sister?
“Oh, well, I mean- I hope I don’t have to explain to you how babies are made, because that would be an awkward conversation to have with my big brother.” Shiko turned around with a smile, a finger reaching out to poke at Iroh’s cheek, before hugging him tightly around his middle.
Nose buried deep in her brother’s chest, Shiko allowed herself a moment to get re-acquainted with his warmth, and the sea salt smell she’d learned to associate with Iroh. God, she’d missed him.
She would never get used to him being away for months on end, no matter how many years he’d been doing it for already. The fact was, that she loved her brother much too strongly, and a part of her heart went away with him each time his ship parted.
“But if you’re talking about my charming personality and good looks…” Shiko mumbled from her hidden spot against him, an inevitable blush warming up her cheeks. “Then I guess it’s because you are a wonderful brother to begin with, and I just took after you.”
