Ngl it was relatively easy to think of pony names for these characters since i've had the idea to make this for a while so i've had a lot of time to think about it lol

For yuriko: i chose the name "flawless lace" because in her regular form, i specifically chose the name "yuriko" for her because it means "perfect" so i wanted to try and include that aspect into her pony name. Some considered names for her were "perfect storm" and "lily lace" since the "yuri" part of her name means "lily" (though i decided against it bc i remembered that's the name of an actual pony in MLP...) the markings on her legs are meant to sorta mirror the stockings she wears in her usual form

For sprite: i chose the name "baby carrot" simply because that was a actual name i considered for her normal form before i decided on "sprite" (which is kinda funny since a big part of sprite's character is that she likes apples.....a food that is basically as different from carrots as it can get) she is a goat-alicorn hybrid because she's normally a deltarune OC, specifically a fankid of kris and ralsei; with the latter being a prince from the dark who is also a goat monster

For carrie: a big part of her backstory is that she named herself, she's literally a carrot that decided to be human one day (...or pony, in this case) and is trying to fit into civilsation as best she can; so i tried to give them a pony name that sorta fits that, and so i named them "carrot mulch" because i could totally imagine her trying to introduce themself to someone and doing that one trope in movies where the main character doesn't want to share their real name and just looks around the room for things to call themself lol. I also decided to make her a blank-flank since she probably hasn't spent that long a time as a pony and therefore wouldn't have a cutie mark despite appearing fully grown

For makeighlyn i feel like my choices are pretty straight forward, the character is a girls' flash game mascot created by a christian fundamentalist cult who somehow escaped into the real world and now works as a demon slayer so i decided to give her a name and cutie mark that reflects that. The only thing that i feel is worth mentioning is that i find it interest how the amount of pink in her design makes the blue in her hair look a lot darker...either that or i might've accidentally hue-shifted it or something

Choese is another pretty straightforward one, he's a flirty cheese-themed mouseboy so i gave him a heart-shaped cheese cutie mark and named him "gouda squeaks" because he's a fucking rodent. (Sidenote: i love smoked gouda so goddamn much omg)

Lastly for crystalline i decided to make her a breezie since she's normally a fairy and y'know....breezies are just the MLP equivalent to fairies....i also decided to name her "fee-fee breezie" since breezies usually have really cutesy names in the show (some of them straight up have references to their species in their names), the "fee-fee" part of her name is short for "feelings" since crystalline is an emotion fairy

Y'know when i first created crystalline back when i was like, 10 i was going through a phase where i just VIOLENTLY hated things for no reason (specifically things from MLP such as the vampire fruit bats, flurry heart and the manta hawk from the IDW comics) to the point that i would make them out of polymer clay JUST so i can make my pony toys kill them (i was a weird kid, needless to say) one of these things being the breezies....so ngl i feel like the fact that i made crystalline a breezie is really fucking ironic lol

A girl from long ago. She was from a time where newspapers were relatively new, and is currently adjusting to modern times. She lives to build little knickknacks, especially clocks and hourglasses. She is intrigued by modern technology.

BACKSTORY

A long, long, time ago, Agnes’ dad worked and ran a small antique and clock store called Clifton Clocks, and would spend hours upon hours making intricate clocks with Agnes.

She would help run the store, and create clocks to sell, and although they couldn’t afford to send Agnes to school, she was happy.

That was until the Great London Fire occurred, with Clifton Clocks being reduced to a charred mass.

Their already shaky income shattered, and they started to run out of food. When Agnes was at the ruins of her beloved store and home, Kyubey approached her and she wished to restore Clifton Clocks.

It was a miracle when They found a cheap building with a similar layout and similar shelves to their former clock store, and they soon got back into business.

Agnes was working quite well as a magical girl defeating witches and gathering grief seeds, but one day, she lost her soul gem, and dropped dead.

Her soul gem was carried outside her hometown, and was would at a pawn shop, and was continuously sold and bought until it found itself in a museum, where it stayed for countless years.

That was, until a group of magical girls found it while witch hunting and restored Agnes.

She came from a time of pocket watches and where newspapers were relatively new to modern day where her home was almost unrecognizable.

She was devastated to learn everything she loved and knew was gone or considered antiques or was nothing more than dust, with Clifton Clocks no longer existing.

She fell into a deep despair and became a witch who rejected time itself, spending all of its time rocking its head.

Doppel Description

“Everything is so old….”

The doppel of repitition. It takes the form of a pendulum. The master of this emotion hails from a time where antiques were brand new, and her pain of the passage of time creates this doppel. It once was a full pendulum clock, but due to the masters anguish, it has thrown away it’s hands and numbers, and spends its time reminiscing on the past. If by chance you offend this doppel, the doppel will curse you, making sure you will regress in age until you no longer exist.

Nothing happened…why is this a trend is comics lately?

So we open with gardening boy revealing he wasn’t sent yo purgatory for illegal gardening once, but doing it multiple times AND trying yo spy on the council of dumb. Ok that’s more a reason to get thrown into the Pit, I admit. But dang kid, you dumb.

Then we get a history lesson

While the gang rides a raft made of Chuck and Erik corpses. Pfft. Ok that’s kinda great in how stupid it is.

Anywhos, the plan is to get the gang to manifest topside to go get Vic’s old team mates to help break them out

Oh boy! Will we get Arkady or Yuriko? I’d even settle for Monet!

Oh wait no…it’s Marauders I think? And not the one from Hellions (name escapes me whoops). Oh but it’s fine, it’s later revealed plan “find my friends” was expected to not happen because Vic doesn’t trust the Pit gang to do as he says. Sure.

Ok confirmation that a) this is happening at the current point in the timeline, and b) the time scale is off because in the Pit they don’t know how much time is going by.

So yeah, OC guy is made of trees and catches up with the Morlock guy, the girls are sand and stone and meet another chick who didn’t even know they were sent to the Pit, they thought the two of them were dead. And now you need physical proof of death to respawn? Or did they make up that rule since these guys are in the Pit but the council of dumb doesn’t wanna publicize that…meaning yes the hypocrisy of “we proudly have no prisons/it’s a big deal to stick you in the Pit” is still up and running. Anyways, Jefferies was glitter and talked with Angelo, and gardening boy stayed behind because he still wants to be a boys out and Vic doesn’t trust that.

Yeah ok “not too many would shed a tear” but there were people who’d care and notice, why can’t we see any of them to help here?? Even s just a background cameo, just something connected to him specifically would be nice.

So we end with gardening kid actually torching Victor in the Pit physically I think? Like I said, nothing happened. We’re at the halfway point and the only real thing established is “the island of stupid sucks” and I learned that 2 years ago on day one! But this did establish Gala setup, so maybe Vic popping out of a hole like a groundhog is part of the Gala shenanigans? Idk, nothing happened and I wasn’t given much visuals to work with here. The panel layouts were also very uninteresting, a lot of horizontal rectangles just stacked. Be more interesting comic, please…I really don’t wanna compare you to Open Season for the lack of focus on title character or interest of plot but…

I just beat the game with a friend watching and I know for a fact there’s a lot of stuff we’ve missed besides the gender locked things. I’ll likely try to pick those up next playthrough on NG+ with a different friend.

Ninja Dragonlings! One of my paintings debuting at Dragon Con! I have been working on the sketch/layout for this one for AGES. About four years ago I first conceived the idea, we created these characters for a collection of Hamilton Collection figurines (they turned out super cute), and I've been tentatively planning a painting around them. And of course I always get sidetracked with other paintings, projects, gallery shows, or Disney stuff, etc. I've chosen Yuriko and Izumi for my painting - Yuriko is my fire ninja character and Izumi is my water ninja character, they have an elemental theme. And of course they have their baby dragons with them ;) The background will be a lush idealized Asia-inspired landscape (a more fleshed out version of traditional Chinese & Japanese mountain/tree watercolour landscapes). At this point in the photo I am working very much on lighting - I want Yuriko's dragon to have glowing fiery scales along its back and I want Izumi's dragon to have brilliant aqua watery-glowy scales along its back, so there will be two very bright light sources coming from them. It should be a very dynamic layout. This original painting (and prints, etc.) will debut at the DragonCon Art Show itself. This is an acrylic painting on a 12x16" panel, so it'll be priced at $5200 mark, will be beautifully framed at 23x27" As always with DragonCon's Art Show, collectors must attend in person to purchase the artwork, and it is first-come, first-served, no reservations or first-dibs pre-sales are accepted (their rules, not mine). DragonCon is held in Atlanta, GA - September 1-4. I will be in the Art Show, down in the lowest level of the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. If you are not attending DragonCon but are still interested in the original painting, please let me know at any time - email me at JasmineToad@aol.com - I will create a backup "first dibs" list for non-attendees (ie, if after the show ends that Monday the original painting is still available, I can then sell the painting directly myself to anybody worldwide and can mail it to you). Com festa, Tóquio inicia contagem regressiva de dois anos para Jogos

A cidade de Tóquio fez festa nesta terça-feira para marcar o início da contagem regressiva para os Jogos Olímpicos de 2020. Em uma cerimônia próxima à Tokyo Skytree, a torre de comunicação mais alta do mundo, o Comitê Organizador reuniu esportistas, autoridades e as recém-apresentadas mascotes Miraitowa (olímpica) e Someity (paralímpica).

Quem comandou o evento foi Yoshito Mori, presidente do Comitê Organizador, que teve a participação da maior autoridade de Tóquio – a governadora Yuriko Koike. Coincidindo com uma onda de calor que castiga o Japão há alguns dias, Mori fez um alerta sobre a importância de se tomar cuidado com as altas temperaturas quando começarem os Jogos em 2020.

Entre os esportistas presentes ao evento, destaques para Tadahiro Nomura, três vezes campeão olímpico de judô, Ryohei Kato, medalhista de ouro na ginástica artística, e a nadadora Rikako Ikee.

Um vídeo projetado no local do evento no início da noite em Tóquio mostrou o início da contagem regressiva de dois anos para a Olimpíada. Ao mesmo tempo, os 634 metros de altura da Tokyo Skytree eram iluminados com as cores dos aros olímpicos.

MASCOTES – Quem fez a festa com as crianças no evento foram as mascotes Miraitowa e Someity. Miraitowa é uma combinação de palavras japonesas que representam futuro e eternidade. Já Someity é o resultado da fusão abreviada de palavras japonesas e inglesas, sendo uma originada pelo nome de uma popular variedade de cerejeira do Japão chamada de “Someiyoshino” e outra da frase em inglês “só mighty” (tão poderosa).

Os layouts das duas mascotes, revelados anteriormente em fevereiro, foram definidos por meio de uma expressiva votação realizada com alunos de escolas do ensino fundamental em todo o Japão, em uma iniciativa que visou entusiasmar as crianças em idade escolar durante este período de preparação aos Jogos Olímpicos e também mostrar que estas escolhas aconteceram de uma maneira transparente.

O Comitê Organizador também disse que o par de mascotes possui um design futurista que combina tradição e inovação. A Olimpíada de Tóquio está programada para ocorrer entre 24 de julho e 9 de agosto de 2020.
