For my research i decided to look into Zandra’s drawings. Zandra Rhodes has kept every single design she has ever drawn. and kept in her ‘Bibles’ as she refers to them. The bibles are her sketchbooks where all of her designs and sketches are.

This is it's inspiration and maker's story: One of the most mysterious and powerful women in ancient Egypt, Nefertiti was queen alongside Pharaoh Akhenaten from 1353 to 1336 B.C. and may have ruled the New Kingdom outright after her husband’s death. Her reign was a time of tremendous cultural upheaval, as Akhenaten reoriented Egypt’s religious and political structure around the worship of the sun god Aten. Nefertiti is best known for her painted sandstone bust, which was rediscovered in 1913 and became a global icon of feminine beauty and power. Our flagship piece in this collection is this impressive collar made from golden metallic acrylic with a series of concentric detailed coloured inlays in sea blue, turqouise, red and green which are exact to Queen Nefertiti's specifications. The collar is finished with a emerald green velvet backing allowing the segmented piece to take the shape of the wearer no matter what. It wears ultra comfortably and comes with a golden magnetic clasp. Size: 300mm x 300mm with 170mm inside diameter neck ~ 12in x 12in x 7in. A vintage casual/sporty vibe with bright pastels has featured this season in my #wunderbarvintage unit @hampsteadantiqueemporium . My dummys current outfit is a little more girly with a powder blue Jaeger turtleneck tied with a gorgeous satin brocade mini skirt in mint green, with an Oriental floral weave in aubergine, coral and cornflower blues. A Zandra Rhodes ruffle pvc takes it up another notch. The Liz Claiborne newsboy cap sold and has been replaced with a brown beret. Gorgeous mixed stone, glass & metals necklaces confirm the feminine touch. Dress up with Zalando suede colourblock platforms, or down with the converse sneakers. This past Saturday afternoon I had the privilege to participate in "Drawing on Style GPP Masterclass", organized by @graymca with legendary fashion illustrator @gladysperintpalmer, with 2 beautiful models wearing @stephenjonesmillinery and @philiptreacy, head pieces and vintage @zandra_rhodes_ . . Each pose was about 5 minutes and here are 2 drawings I felt most satisfied with, drawn using watercolor, and a small box of water-soluble wax pastels by @carandache we were all gifted with. (I had never tried these pastels btw and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they are to use and LOVE the fact they are water-soluble!! I never even knew they make these! 😆) . The class honestly far exceeded my expectations as I got to receive critique not only from Gladys, but also from @suedraylcf (another legend!) whom I happened to sit next to 😮(It must've been my lucky day!) Not to mention the gallery space @cromwellplace itself was absolutely stunning. . My biggest takeaway from the class? ALWAYS exaggerate body proportions and postures, pay more attention to negative space, and draw on bigger pieces of paper! .
