It had been two years since he'd ran. Two years that had seemed to pass quickly, and yet could not have gone by fast enough. Yet it had seemed the fuss of his disappearance had died down at last. Oh, the dreaded disappearance of the prince. What a disappointment. But it's not like it was that big of a deal. His elder brother was still there to take over in the event of their father's death. Jamie wasn't really needed as long as Jim was around.

So for two years he'd been running, making a living doing absolutely anything he could think to do that was the complete opposite of princely behaviour. And if he'd become known through the land as a notorious thief, well so be it. He was having fun. And like hell if he was going back. But that hardly seemed a problem - most had started to forget he was gone. He would have bet anything most thought he was dead by now. There were more important things to worry about - like the surge of attacks from the neighboring kingdom - the attacks that were bordering war. 

If only he paid more attention to the gossip going around the small town he was currently spending the night in (spending was a loose term. But the jail was rather comfy, and acted as free room and board). Then perhaps he would have known that his brother was no longer available to take over in the event of their father's death - which had occurred shortly after his departure. Maybe he'd even know that people had stopped wondering about his disappearance because instead of feeling betrayed there was a reward for finding him. 

But he didn't know about any of that, because Former Prince Jamie was currently locked in a jail cell contemplating the proper time to attempt escape in order to avoid his sentencing in the morning. And that took priority.

[Just wraps his arms around Jim and nuzzles into his neck, his entire body almost quivering with barely masked panic.]

// OH THAT WOULD BE PERFECT Do you wanna because that would be easier to figure out than the other idea, if you want to do this, it could be like, um, well we could even stay with like Seb being a Robin Hood type-esque character, although more thief less give to the poor, (or however you'd prefer) and Jamie could be like, second in line for the thrown, and didn't like being royal so he left, and now he's joined the thieves but the kingdom is at war or something and the prince in line (Jim) died so there's like a reward for any who can find and return Jamie to the throne, so their like, searching for him to reclaim the reward, and Seb doesn't know Jamie is said prince.

Anyhoo, would that be something you'd wanna do (totally just wrote that off the top of my head, so changes are entirely welcome~)
