At approximately 4:22pm HST today, my best buddy, Zeus, crossed over the rainbow bridge. There will never be “enough time” with those we love and this is the case with Zeus. He had a spine that was degenerating, which caused his back legs to become very weak. But, Zeus continued to try so very hard to function till the very end, as he took pride in ALL he did. As a service dog, trained by @assistancedogsofhawaii, Zeus provided assistance as best he could for the 12+ years I had him. Secondarily, I know he made many, many people happy. This is something I appreciated greatly, as people would smile when seeing Zeus - be it strangers, friends, students at the @uhmanoacoe, faculty in @speduhm, the list is endless. Zeus will be missed, but I’m happy he’s no longer in any pain and he’s running around up in heaven with all of his wonderful friends! I’m sorry there will be no more Zeus posts twice a day, but please think of all the happiness he brought into your lives, if you interacted with him. Not sure when I’ll be ready to post again, but please know I appreciate your support and love. Zeus was a valiant warrior for his entire life. Aloha, Zeus. You’ll be deeply missed by your human (Brian). I love you and hope I did all I could to make your life the best possible everyday. Run, run, run buddy!
