Vor einiger Zeit erreichte mich ein großes, graues Paket, welches ich schon sehnsüchtig erwartet habe. Bei den Amazon Blitz-Deals habe ich zugeschlagen und mir das Zhiyun Smooth 4 Gimbal gekauft.

Was alles in dem Paket enthalten war, habe ich ja bereits in meinem Unboxing gezeigt. Heute will ich das Gimbal mal genauer unter die Lupe nehmen und schauen, was es alles kann oder auch nicht kann.

Mit drei Stunden Ladezeit dauert es zwar recht lange, bis das Gimbal aufgeladen ist, allerdings reicht die Laufzeit mit bis zu 12 Stunden auf jeden Fall für ein paar Film-Sessions. Die Akkulaufzeit verringert sich allerdings, wenn das Smartphone über das Gimbal geladen wird. Irgendwo muss die Energie ja her kommen.

Bei der Aufnahme des Smartphones sollte man vorher schauen, ob das Gimbal für das aktuelle Smartphone und vielleicht auch für ein mögliches zukünftiges Smartphone ausreichend ist. Mit einer Breite von 85mm und einem Gewicht von 210g darf das Smartphone nicht sehr groß sein. Das honor 6 oder Umidigi Z2 Pro sind dafür recht gut geeignet. Das honor Play ist da schon eher grenzwertig. Hierzu gibt es weiter unten noch weitere Informationen.

Bedienung

Es ist mein erstes Gimbal, daher war die Bedienung am Anfang etwas umständlich. Ähnlich wie bei einer Drohne muss man hier einige Zeit üben um das Gimbal optimal benutzen zu können. Die vielen Funktionen machen die Bedienung auch nicht gerade sehr leicht.

Das Smooth 4 von Zhiyun ist vollgestopft mit Funktionen, allerdings können die meisten davon nur mit der App vom Gimbal verwendet werden. Mit der Standard Kamera App vom Smartphone kann das Gimbal allerdings auch betrieben werden. Hier werden nur die meisten Funktionen nicht unterstützt.

Ich versuche die meisten Funktionen mal zu erklären, was mit dem Gimbal gemacht werden kann. Ich beginne mit den Funktionen, die nur mit der Zhiyun App möglich sind. Funktionen einstellen

Zoom und Fokus

Der Zoom und Fokus kann über das seitlich angebrachte Rad eingestellt werden. Um zwischen den Funktionen zu wechseln, reicht ein Klick auf “Ziel” Icon auf der Vorderseite links unten. Ist das Icon blau, dann ist der Fokus aktiviert. Ist das Icon nicht beleuchtet, dann kann man mit dem Smooth 4 zoomen.

Objektverfolgung

Die Objektverfolgung ist schon ein cooles Feature. Damit kann man etwas markieren, was immer gefilmt werden soll und das Gimbal folgt wie von Zauberhand diesem Objekt bzw. Bereich. Bei schnell bewegenden Objekten ist das Gimbal aber eher weniger geeignet. Das Gimbal schafft solche schnellen Bewegungen bei diesem Modus nicht. Um aber zum Beispiel das Gesicht bei einem Video immer sichtbar zu haben, ist das sehr gut geeignet.

Bildeigenschaften ändern

Während der Verbindung mit der App, können direkt über das Gimbal diverse Einstellungen für das Video eingestellt werden. Über den mittleren Knopf kann zum Beispiel die Foto-LED ein- und ausgeschalten werden. Über das Rad an der Vorderseite kann die Helligkeit mit einem Klick nach rechts angepasst werden. Alle weiteren Einstellungen können geöffnet werden, wenn das Rad nach oben geklickt wird.

Jetzt kommen wir zu den Funktionen, die auch ohne die eigene App zur Verfügung stehen. Hier kann man also die Standard Kamera App nutzen – muss beim Filmen allerdings vorher die Aufnahme starten.

Das Smooth 4 bewegt sich wie der Name schon sagt sehr sanft, damit es beim Filmen so wenig Ruckler wie möglich gibt. Will man sich aber schnell zu einer bestimmten

Es kann ganz nützlich sein, wenn man mal etwas Liegendes filmen oder fotografieren möchte, dass man mit dem Gimbal das Smartphone kippt. Diese Funktion steht beim Smooth 4 auch zur Verfügung. Über die untere Taste an der Rückseite kann man das Smartphone nach unten oder oben kippen. Lässt man die Taste los, bleibt es in dieser Position und kann ganz normal weiter verwendet werden.

Doch wie bekommt man das Gimbal wieder in die Ausgangslage? Dafür einfach zwei Mal schnell hintereinander die untere Taste drücken. Das Smartphone richtet sich dann wieder optimal aus.

an der Vorderseite gibt es einen Schalter, mit welchen eingestellt werden kann, ob das Gimbal sich beim Drehen mitdrehen oder die bisher eingestellte Position beibehalten soll. Wenn es die Position beibehalten soll kann man zum Beispiel sich vor die Kamera drehen, ohne vom Hintergrund abzuweichen.

Allerdings muss man hier beachten, dass das Gimbal sich nicht unendlich drehen lässt. Es hat einen Anschlag, ab welchem es sich dann mitdrehen würde.

Probleme mit dem Gimbal

Natürlich habe ich auch etwas gefunden, was nicht sehr optimal umgesetzt ist – und auch eine Optimierungsmöglichkeit.

Smartphone laden

Es ist schön, dass das Smartphone am Gimbal geladen werden kann. Es gibt ein microUSB Anschluss, an welchem ein Smartphone angeschlossen werden kann. Das erste ist: wer bitte hat ein microUSB auf microUSB Kabel? Ich nicht, aber ich denke da finde ich sicher noch ein passendes Kabel. Doch wie soll das Kabel eigentlich angeschlossen werden? Der Ladeanschluss vom Smartphone ist leider genau dort, wo es am Gimbal eingespannt ist. Ich habe schon überlegt das Smartphone andersrum einzulegen, doch dann wird es wohl nix mehr mit dem Filmen. Hier hätte es ruhig noch ein Adapter geben können (gibt es bei einigen Sets dazu). Außerdem muss das Kabel im die Ecke gelegt werden. Hier kommen also einige Schwierigkeiten zusammen. Ich hoffe hierfür noch eine Lösung zu finden und werde das natürlich auch weitergeben.

Ausrichtung Smartphone

Eine kleine Optimierung könnte es bei der Bedienung geben. Es ist schön, dass es Objektverfolgung und eine Kippfunktion gibt, aber es wäre wirklich schön gewesen, wenn man das Gimbal per Rädchen oder Steuerkreuz bewegen könnte. Ich würde gerne das Smartphone am Gimbal nach oben, unten, links und rechts per Tasten bewegen wollen. So könnte man in jeder Situation den optimalen Blickwinkel finden.

Maximale Belastung

Immer wieder kam es während einer Aufnahme vor, dass die Ausrichtung vom Smartphone plötzlich nachgelassen hat. Das Smartphone hing weiterhin im Gimbal, doch die Smartphone-Aufnahme klappte nach unten. Das Gelenk wurde dabei auch sehr warm. Ich habe es öfter ausprobiert und keine Ursache finden können. Nachdem ich den Verkäufer geschrieben hatte, habe ich die Antwort bekommen die Hülle vom Smartphone zu entfernen und auf die maximale Belastung vom Gimbal zu achten. Das Zhiyun Smooth 4 darf bis maximal 210 Gramm belastet werden. Das honor Play inklusive einem Case kommt allerdings nur auf 205 Gramm. Das liegt meiner Meinung nach noch unter dem Maximalwert und sollte ohne Probleme funktionieren. Ich habe es dann mit einem deutlich leichteren Smartphone ausprobiert und hatte auch nach mehreren Minuten (etwa 15 Minuten) keine Probleme. Hier sollte man also vor dem Kauf beachten, dass die Smartphones ja auch größer und schwerer werden.

Fazit zum Zhiyun Smooth 4 Gimbal

Das Zhiyun Smooth 4 Gimbal ist ein schönes Spielzeug um stabile Videos mit einem Smartphone zu machen. Ein wenig schade ist es, dass die maximale Belastung doch etwas gering ist. Für professionelle Videoaufnahmen sollte sicherlich ein hochwertigeres Gimbal genutzt werden. Vielleicht sogar ein Gimbal, welches auch für eine Spiegelreflexkamera geeignet ist. Für mich als Einsteiger ist es allerdings ein richtig cooles Gadget um bessere Videos machen zu können.

Application ZYPLAY version Androïd introuvable sur le Play Store

Depuis une paire de jours, on ne peut pas installer la mise à jour estampillée 1.13.10 de l'application ZYPlay. La mise à jour se lance mais l'installation est bloquée par Google. C'est bien gênant car la version 1.13.9 est beuguée. ZYPLAY est désormais introuvable sur le Play Store. On peut la télécharger, en derniere version, sur le site Zhiyun mais l'installation est bloquée par Google. Pas très sérieux venant de Zhiyun à qui j'ai envoyé des messages et qui ne m'a toujours répondu.

J'étais déjà très déçu de l'application ZYPlay de Zhiyun. Je l'utilise avec mon stabilisateur 3 axes le Zhiyun Smooth 4 sur lequel j'ai monté mon HuaweiP20Pro. En plus des bugs, l'application connaît un problème de mise à jour qui est bloquée par le Play Store.
