ok i understand artificially pumping up the new live feature to get people curious enough to use it, but what i don't get is the way they're doing it. like. its all pretty people looking directly at the camera. the descriptions are stuff like "get ready with me" and "hanging out and talking" or whatever. i clicked on one of of curiosity and it says "(username) joined" real big so everyone can see it and i panicked and left immediately.

like??? this is tumblr??? we don't like being perceived here and we aren't interested in influencers??? im not casting judgment on that sort of thing im just saying it's not popular here. if they were pushing like, art streams and gaming streams and stuff that isn't a pretty person making direct eye contact with me? that'd probably do well??? like idk it feels like whoever implemented the feature was just like, trying to copy instagram or whatever and not taking tumblr's users into account
