Today we drove from Paradise to Sunrise. I dropped Ben off a few miles from the Visitor Center so he could do the Sourdough Ridge hike. I did a shorter ramble from the parking lot on the Silver Forest trail. Yesterday at Paradise was all about waterfalls, and flowers and animals. Today was all about the Majestic view. It’s pretty special.

Best meal I had at the lodge: breakfast in the dining room today. With 2 weeks to go until the lodge closes for the winter, they were running out of lots of stuff. No butter for toast, but they did have strawberry cream cheese and loads of fresh berries.

Heading out Monday morning. We brought a lot of stuff (understatement) for 2 nights including a microwave and a cooler. No elevators in the lodge. This morning, while quietly enjoying our coffee in our room we discovered a third room-mate had joined us. It scurried out of our snack bag under the couch. We shook things out pretty good so hopefully it did not join us on the ride home.
