Henry eyes the large coffee cup on the table.  ‘Are we sure you need more caffeine?’  Alex rolls his eyes.  ‘You sound like my sister. And my mom. And my da-’  Henry folds his arms over his chest, brow lowering. Alex huffs and slumps in his chair.  ‘Fine, get me a decaf. You won't catch me drinking any of those dry leaves your people call a beverage.’  Henry winces for a moment, before marching off to the counter. His people would indeed fight for tea to be a human right. But he also wishes he didn't have to think for his people at all.

Thanks for the tag @suseagull5914! I've managed to get some sentences done today while I recover from Edinburgh Pride, yesterday was epic.

Back to Bigender Alex 4, and context for this, this fic is written from Henry's POV. Oh and reminder: he's sitting on a throne...

‘Traffic light system if you feel uncomfortable, yes?’ Alex rolls his eyes affectionately as she nods. Henry leans forward, pulling Alex's face close. He nudges his nose into Alex's cheek. There's a little stubble and it's itching the feral spark that ignited in him since they got in the throne room. Alex kisses him first, tender at first then Henry can taste his tongue. He pulls back, Alex's face still in his hands. Alex pouts comically, Henry lets out a little chuckle. ‘Menace.’ Alex grins and places a hand on Henry's knee. ‘I can be good… if you ask me to.’ Henry smirks and Alex’s grin shifts off her face. Henry moves Alex’s hand off him, his other hand pulls Alex’s chin forward in a swift movement. ‘Get on your knees like a good little queen and serve your king then.’ Alex stares for a moment and Henry realises all he can hear is his heartbeat. He studies Alex’s face, looking for any sign. Finally she licks his lips and dutifully drops to her knees. ‘Good girl.’

'Pancakes for breakfast?'

Alex cranes his neck up, pecks a kiss onto Henry's shoulder.

'Yes please.' He mumbles into Henry's chest. Henry chuckles as Alex makes no effort to move off him, in fact snuggling his head further into his chest.

'Darling, I'll need to go to the kitchen if you want pancakes.'

Alex groans in protest. He kisses Henry's collar bones, making Henry's breath hitch. Alex has always liked how sensitive he is in the morning.

'How about a little spice first? Then you can make pancakes...'

Before Henry answers, Alex is nibbling around his nipples and licking down his torso.

Inspired by @dizzymisslizzie I'm going to share original fiction too. So I'm having a lot of fun with the spooky ballet AU fic, so much that I decided actually I want to write original characters and create a longform story, maybe a novel. The fic will still be a thing, but I reckon the plot will end a bit happier than my original piece. Anyways, meet Caleb, his best friend Jules and some of the company...

‘Julien, front and centre.’  Caleb and Jules exchange grimaces as the latter moves to the front of the studio. Claude twists around to Caleb, one arm over his torso holding his elbow. He puffs the blonde streak of his hair out of his face.  ‘Not the government name…’ he whispers, Caleb bites his lip to keep his chuckle quiet. He watches Jules taking position promptly, he presents himself to Sarah and Dylan. To the everyday eye, this looks like a dance practice and the couple are merely trying to embarrass their fellow dancer in front of his peers. But Caleb swallows as he sees Sarah look to Dylan and wink. Dylan’s freckled olive skin is glossed in sweat but he somehow makes it look elegant.  This isn’t a studio really. It’s a barracks, an army of lost souls, duty bound with each choreographed step. Sarah is a tyrant disguised in milky pink and blonde buns. 

And here's a snippet from the smutty bonus chapter I'm writing for this fic:

Henry shakes off the shirt, the pair of them chuckling. Alex’s hands cling to Henry's naked torso, his fingers can’t stretch far enough. He wants to learn every detail, every scar, every freckle, every goosebump. Henry tugs his hair at the back, and Alex feels hazy as Henry licks his lips before diving in to kiss him. Those plush lips, he wants to know all the kinds of kisses they can do. Lust fuels their collective heartbeat as they land on the bed. Henry is on top of Alex, he smiles up at him gently. Henry combs a stray curl from Alex’s face, panting just a little. The soft evening light paints Henry in warm hues that Alex wants to smudge and blend in with.

Best book you've read so far in 2025: The Honeys by Ryan La Sala & Bi: The Hidden Culture, History and Science of Bisexuality by Julia Shaw. My only 5 star reads this year!

Best sequel you've read so far in 2025: Go Luck Yourself by Sara Raasch

New release you haven't read yet but want to: Absolutely tons! Sunrise on the Reaping by Susanne Collins, The Survivor Wants to Die at the End by Adam Silvera, Lady's Knight by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner, The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith to name a few.

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year: The Entanglement of Rival Wizards by Sara Raasch (I have this pre-ordered, very rare for me) & The Dead of Summer by Ryan La Sala.

Biggest surprise favorite new author (debut or new to you): Sara Raasch (I started The Nightmare Before Kissmas end of 2024 & finished in 2025 so she counts 😂) & now I'm planning on making my way through all her books, love the range she's done & I appreciate her as a writer a lot.

Newest fictional crush: Rhysand (I've finally caved, currently on A Court of Mist and Fury) and can I say almost all the characters in the Royals & Romance series? They're chaotic bisexuals, how can I not? 😇

Book that made you cry: Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin and The Honeys by Ryan La Sala. Giovanni's Room was for my book club so we had a virtual group hug after that one 🥺

Most beautiful book you've gotten so far this year: I bought a pink spray-edged signed copy of I Kissed Shara Wheeler to complete my CMQ physical collection 🥰 (it was only £9, second hand but immaculate condition!)

Book that made you happy: Mismatched by Anne Camlin & Isadora Zeferino.

What books do you need to read by the end of the year? I'd like to finish ACOTAR and get back to one of the other fantasy series I started (Court of Broken Bonds series by Ben Alderson or The Raven and the Dove series by Kaitlyn Davis). One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston, only 1 I haven't read of theirs. The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun, I'm annotating a copy then giving it to a friend who's going to do the same, so we can chat in the margins. She's doing Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood for me so that too!

So while the @anywhere-with-you-event is over (congrats on another amazing collection gems!), I've been working on a lil smutty bonus chapter for the fic I did for @cactusdragon517 so here's the beginning:

‘This is totally happening, right?’  Alex is leaning back on Henry's bedroom door, hands tangling through his hair. Alex’s t-shirt has been shucked off in the hallway, Henry's sweater in the stairs.  Henry leans in for what Alex anticipates as another excellent kiss but he stops short of his lips.  ‘Absolutely…’  His hands wander over Alex’s chest.  ‘...you charmed my dog…’  Alex smirks.  ‘...and you're built like something out of my wet dreams.’ His fingers tighten around Alex's nipple and Alex moans into Henry's invading mouth. He presses in closer, his hips thrusting impulsively.  ‘Who even are you? Legs for days, sounding like James Bond.’
