Anyway, im not trying to make this a discourse blog or whatever lol

Another problem i have is that i honestly don't to some degree i don't want people to stop watching rpdr because its done a lot for the drag community and the lgbtq community. Its made drag a lot more mainstream and therefore accessible. Its part of putting more lgbtq shows on air. people have to remember that we don't have a lot of these kinds of shows on tv right now! And we want to see more! Its also done a lot to help tons of drag queens in their careers.

There are plenty of negative aspects and criticizing them are good. But im not sure if we should be disregarding the whole damn thing (Its particularly horrible when people go onto say that all of drag is bad when they criticize rpdr, im actually a little horrified by that extreme line of thinking)

Furthermore, it doesn't take a ton of research and reasoning skills to realize that a show like this in Brazil is even more of a big deal. And i kinda feel like you have to take that kind of thing into account when criticizing the series.

I guess what I'm saying is the issue is complicated and i just want people to treat issues like they're complicated, and also everyone on tumblr is a hypocrite but that's not new information lmfao

I can agree with criticisms of the dub and subs but like…some people from the us act like weve got no issues with transphobia or other intersectional bigotry in lgbtq shows or lgbtqphobia in mainstream media when voicing their opinons lmfaooo

I think part of the reason im so adamant about loving and supporting Super Drags and can't take a lot of the criticism on tumblr in good faith is because i remember some of the batshit insane discourse tumblr started about las leyendas (when they werent, you know, completely ignoring it and not watching it lmfao)
