Some new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers were released a few weeks ago and everything about it looks so breathtaking and I knew right away that it’s going to ruin me emotionally; I couldn’t get this idea out of my mind since… so I drew it. Now everyone else must suffer with me.
if I was making KH3 I would have included a game mechanic where sometimes when you lose a fight it only gives you the option “continue” instead of “retry” and when you select it Sora starts the fight exactly where you left off, except his keyblade and his moves and the way he fights completely changes, including his dialogue even.
and like anti-form and rage form it would never actually be remarked upon or explained in the game, but anyone who’s played the whole series would be able to eventually recognize Ventus, Roxas, or Xion’s fighting style / keyblade / personality
basically, after the events of DDD, the heart hotel are able to take over the fight for Sora when he needs some help, even while Sora himself is completely unaware of it
also giving even MORE weight to Sora’s “all my strength came from them” breakdown after he starts releasing those hearts
I feel like some of Disney's recent crossover projects are trying to bring the Kingdom Hearts fans over into something Disney has more direct control over and isn't weighted down by Nomura's fanfiction. It's funny to me. Like sorry bestie, but Mirrorverse and Lorcana and Dreamlight Valley are NEVER going to be the next Kingdom Hearts. Making a vaguely high fantasy world with Disney characters at the center isn't exciting or special the way forcing Mickey Mouse into a massive, convoluted Shonen anime JRPG is.
Square soft in 2002: Okay Shimomura-san, we need you to score our weird little RPG with Final Fantasy and Disney characters so maybe nothing too crazy?
Remember in kh2 back when phones didn’t exist merlin had to literally take control of the gummi ship without telling sora and the others and bring it to hollow bastion cause he wanted to show them winnie the pooh
