I'll never be over way the first act of Lucanis's arc sets up the idea that Spite feels trapped in Lucanis and fully leads you to believe Spite wants Lucanis to kill himself in order free him

and then in Act 2 you realize that, no, Lucanis is the one trapped in himself, and all through the Ossuary and especially after Weisshaupt, Spite may actually have been the only thing keeping Lucanis alive.

One thing I really love about Lucanis' romantic storylines is that they are so well written and intertwined

I think it’s sweet that Lucanis started to cook by helping the Dellamorte’s kitchen staff as a kid because he wanted to know how to make churros and presumably those are the same ones that he can make for Rook to show his affection for them

The man literally just got woken up by his crush (that he denies) who's also his close friend, coworker and literal life saver! He is taken by surprise and mortified of Spite, the last thing he'd be thinking is "let me copy Illario/novels and see what happens". Nah, he's dazed and in awe of Rook, and so he dreamily gets carried away before he reminds himself that it is, in fact, a bad idea (according to him) and that it puts Rook at risk (according to him).

I think that my lucanis romance unpopular opinion (except loving it as it is) is that during the pantry scene lucanis wasn't pretending or putting up an act he took from a romance novel but just that he got a little flirty and then panicked because he realized he was actually feeling more for Rook than he expected and that scared him

Something that makes me. insane about Lydia/Lucanis is that, deep down, I think they both have a part of themselves that desperately needs someone to look out for them, and they feel they can be there for the other person when they weren't there for themselves 🥲
