Miss Rose has been getting all the screen time, so today we turn our attention to the delightful and equally photogenic Miss Milly. She's a Stimson's Python (Antaresia stimsoni) and she's been my sweet little girl for over eight years now. She's gentle and not nippy, so she's great with kids and first-time snake-handlers 🐍❤🐍

Such a great event and without a doubt the best mountain bike course I've seen at an adventure race.

Results for Hells Bells and Fairy Bells 2017

And the results are done! And we have to say, that was an amazing effort from everyone. The winning teams are simply amazing, and the tail end teams show incredible toughness of mind and spirt.

We’ve been through the splits, watched and re-watched the live replay and held the punch card up to the lights. Time credits have been allocated to teams that had to wait for paddles at TA1, and deductions have been made for out-of-bounds and missed check points. We used a blanket 1hr penalty for entry into out of bounds areas (the main ones being the Bruce Highway, Steve Irwin Way, around checkpoint F and deep into the cow paddock before 33).

Missed Checkpoint penalties used an average teams time multiplied by two, so if it took an average team 2hrs to reach CP F, then we allocated a 4hr time penalty. Please let us know if there’s a mistake or if you think we’ve unfairly allocated a penalty.

I wrote a sonnet that sits neatly beside Dewi's sonnet "A Letter for Spring" to create a cleave poem, "Endurance".

This asynchronous collaboration with Dewi and the late Christina Rossetti has been one of the highlights of my involvement with Chalkboard. I had so much fun, and I’m delighted by the poem we came up with.
