Marilyn's first modeling agency - Blue Book Models Hollywood. The life ring photos and the group of 5 were taken at the Ambassador Hotel Gardens. The outdoor shots were taken at Big Tujunga Creek.

The photo archive previously belonged to Emmeline Snively, the deceased owner of the Blue Book Modeling Agency. The current owner of the archive is Astrid Franse.

Belinda Lee

15 June 1935 – 12 March 1961

On 12 March 1961, Belinda Lee tragically died in a car crash near San Bernardino County, on her way to Los Angeles from Las Vegas, on Highway 91.  She was traveling in an automobile doing 100 mph (160 kph) when a tire blew, causing the accident. She was ejected from the car and was found deceased 63 feet from the accident. The three Italian men in the car were injured but survived. Her ashes were interred at a cemetery in Rome.

Stage production, which ran for 261 episodes at the Fulton theater. Bela Lugosi and Edward Van Sloan were the only two actors that also starred in the 1931 film version.

Battle of the Bulge

In the freezing early hours of December 16, 1944, German forces launched the last major offensive of #WWII against the Allied forces in the Ardennes region of Belgium. Know as the #BattleOfTheBulge, the surprise attack aimed to split Allied lines and shift momentum of the war.

The offensive created a "bulge" in the Allied front lines, giving the battle its name. Over the next six weeks, American forces, often outgunned and enduring brutal winter conditions, mounted a heroic defense.

Units like the 101st Airborne famously held their ground at #Bastogne despite being surrounded and low on supplies. The battle ended on January 25, 1945, with heavy losses for both sides: over 75,000 American casualties, and 100,000 German casualties.

The German army's failure to break through sealed its fate, hastening the end of the war in Europe.

I lost my best friend after what was supposed to be very minor surgical procedure.

I didn't realize this little dog would become an enormous part of my life.
