Salmson 2300 Sport Coupé, 1954. Styled by Eugène Martin, with bodywork by Chapron, the 105bhp 2.3-litre twin-cam made it a strong performer by the standards of the day, with a top speed of 112mph. It was the last car made by Salmson when production end in 1957 just 209 has been made

Salmson 2300 Sport, 1955. The 2300 was French manufacturer Salmson’s last car. It was produced from 1953 through 1957 by which time 236 had been made with bodywork by Esclassan, Chapron, Charbonneaux and Pichon-Parrat. Most were closed coupés by Chapron made 6 convertibles. The cars were expensive, costing as much as a contemporary Jaguar XK120. Poor sales lead to the demise of Salmson as a car manufacturer though, having also made aircraft, they continued as an engineering company
