do you guys ever think about of how even when he's angry with the naturals he tries not to yell and even attempts to calm himself

and like yes i know just pushing him and sterling to the side in the novella was an easy cop out cause you can't include all the characters but also it is SO IMPORTANT TO ME. like not only are they having kids. they're not throwing themselves head first into cases like that anymore. they have established some sort of balance and domesticity to their life that the two of them so desperately need. like briggs could have easily left sterling and gone after mackenzie. but he didn't. even if it wasn't his job anymore, it would make sense within his character during the books to have gone after her but he didn't. and that is sooo important to me because like bro. they have some sort of balance to their life.
