Ravenclaws have a tendency to stay in bed even when they know they should have gotten up fifteen minutes ago. Especially when it’s cold. A part of them hopes that it might warm up, even though logically they know it’s not going to.

Game Review Night  - The Undertale

                                           Recommendation

For my first post I have decided to review a game. Well, it’s not just a game, it’s the life of magical creatures, good and evil, underground.

The game that I’ll be reviewing this night is - Undertale, by Toby Fox.

Before you read this, I must tell you to play the game first and then come back here, there are spoilers ahead. The game is really funny and addictive.

                                                       Design

Let’s start from the design of this beautiful game. Recently I’ve heard a lot of people talking about this game’s bad quality - just because it has a kind of retro style in it.

Toby Fox had actually a great idea while doing that, giving us the message that the best things always come in little packages. And he succeeded in that. I can clearly disagree with people that I’ve heard the critics from.

I actually really like this style, it makes me feel more comfortable while playing the game, I mean, I’m not playing Grand Theft Auto V or Far Cry 4, I’m playing Undertale.

If we take a good look at the battle sprites, we can see a very nicely detailed enemies (friends), and I’m somehow disappointed that these sprites are not included as regular/overworld (non-battle) sprites.

I will rate design as 9/10.

                                                   Mechanics              

This RPG is really cool, because it has a very interesting battle system, similar to Earthbound, but with a cute little modification - instead of just acting and attacking, you need to survive monster’s attacks by bypassing them, not just staying in place and doing nothing.

The most beautiful thing in this game is that your actions determine the ending that you’ll get, making this game sound even more cooler! 

There are a lot of unexpected things to discover, unexpected monsters, undiscovered secrets… This game is actually made to never die. There’ll always be something that no one has discovered, just like the true identity of doctor Gaster and the back-story of True Lab - one of the places that really scared me and made me nervous.

Also, the acronyms LV. , EXP are really a good idea, and it makes this game different from the others for a good reason. This game will test what is more important to you get LV. and EXP. (Kill) or have friends :).

In the end, you’ll see what you deserve, your own ending.

I will rate mechanics as pure 10/10. This is a master piece!

                                                         Story

Every good game needs a good story, and this one is… just perfect.

In the very beginning I had a feeling like: “Oh, I’m confused, where am I? What’s this?”, and then, I met Flowey, with a relaxing thought: “Oh, a flower. He’s definitely going to help me or be my friend!”.

But then, I’ve realized what’s going on there. 

I really loved the part while I was in Toriel’s house, it really made me smile, a lot. Toby really made her to look like a very good mother, even though you (character from the game) are not her child. And then, when I saw an abandoned room in Toriel’s house (room after mine), I realized that she’s missing someone. That made me to think of what really happened.

During my adventure, I learned a lot about the history of the underground. I met beautiful friends - I’ll try not to be boring - this game made me to emotionally connect with characters from the game.

Leaving the underground was like: “Are my friends going to be okay?”, “Are they going with me?”…

I’m not going to talk about the genocide route. I don’t really want to say that it is the part of the story because it isn’t. That’s not the true ending and not how the game should end. By the way, it’s really different from the pacifist route, and makes me feel really bad… Killing everyone isn’t necessary. Sorry, (talking to genocidal people).

Really, I have no comment for the story… Just… beautiful… thank you Toby Fox for this amazing story… I’ve learned a lot from it. ❤

What if Minerva McGonagall was Potter's cat?

Okay, listen…

We know thar Potter’s had a cat, Lily mentioned it in her letter for Sirius… She said that Harry nearly killed her when flying on Sirius birthday present to Harry - a toy broomstick.

If she was living with them not long begore Harry’s birth, then she wood be about 11-12 when Harry joined Hogwarts.

Harry joined Hogwarts in 1991/2.

McGonagall was born in 1935.

When Harry joined hogwarts, she was 57.

12 years for cat is like 60 years for humans.

And what McGonagall gave Harry at his first year? A broomstick. Maybe it’s the same broomstick that Harry had as a toy…

And we all know that McGonagall is an animagus... a CAT

Why is it so hard to love yourself?

take a second to do something kind for yourself today. it doesn’t have to be something big. you can paint your nails, or see a friend, or cuddle up in a blanket for a few minutes. if you don’t have time for any of those things, try to do something kind for someone else. hold a door, or give a compliment, or pay for someone else’s meal. you don’t have to do something huge to make yourself feel good. the little things may not always be remembered, but they are the ones that add value.
