Isn't Thistle supposed to be a child and Mithrun a middle aged elf? Why is there a ship between these two?

to my knowledge, thistle does appear as a child when he is taken as a jester. he does grow up with delgal before he is appointed court mage;
it's not until the dungeon is made and time technically stops. this is when delgal's child is already 12-ish, id say?
now, we know that different races have different perspectives on maturity. even so, the wikia states that thistle is at least 1000 years old because of the life in the dungeon. i suppose he could be perceived as a younger elf than mithrun, yes, but definitely not a child.
of course, if i got something wrong, feel free to let me know :> theyre not a ship (as in the fandom usually puts misu with someone else like kabru or the canaries) and my drawing is also not inherently romantic or sexual, so i hope it didnt make anyone uncomfortable!
