Because I bit my nails for 15 years until an ex-friend of mine with super long nails sat next to me in class and asked me passive aggressively if I still bit my nails, bc she knew I used to. I replied no even though I still did and from that moment on I haven't bitten my nails at all. Just to show her. Just to keep the lie going. It's been months and I never feel the need to anymore because I like having long nails too much. My nails are the longest and healthiest they've ever been.

I'm sure you can think of someone that commented negativity on your bitten nails. Think of how you want to show them that you have stopped, and follow through on it.
