“So you enjoy better the rainy cold weather? What is it about England that you English people always end up being so nostalgic the second you’re back here?” Tate half joked, only to then stare at the guy in complete confusion. “Uh, really? You’re inviting me to a bar? Just like that?”

“Hey no need to thank me, it really was fun.” Tate agreed, as she walked with her friend towards her apartment. For a moment she thought that their girls night out was about to come to its end, so she couldn’t help but chuckle at Anna’s offer as soon as she heard the question. “Anna, if you wanted me to stay for longer you could’ve just said it. No need to use ice-cream against me...” She joked casually before of bursting into laughter. “But of course, I’d love that. We both know that ice-cream is always a good idea.”

For the first time in a while, Oz was writing. The lyrics were coming to him easily, but despite all of that, he found himself going back to a classic. Strumming the guitar, he hummed along easily before he was singing and catching the attention of some passerby. “How will I know if you really love me? I say a prayer with every heart beat… I fall in love whenever we meet. I’m asking you what you know about these things. How will I know if you’re thinkin’ of me? I try to phone, but I’m too shy I can’t speak…. Fallin’ in love is so bittersweet… If love is strong then why do I feel weak?” Once he was done, he realized someone was standing just before him. “Oh, hey! I think I might play that at my next open mic. Oldie but a goodie. What did you think?”

Although Tate wasn’t really the nosy type of girl, she couldn’t help to stop and stare once this guy started to play his guitar. A part of her knew that she probably should’ve just kept walking, but there was something so familiar about him that forced her to stay and watch the entire performance going on, even when the song of choice wasn’t something she’d exactly listen to... Not in public anyway. The plan was to leave once he was done, but the second that happened she was immediately busted. “Open mic, of course!” She whispered to herself, finally remembering where she knew this guy from. “Well Oz, that was uhm... Cheesy?” Tate admitted with a laugh, unable to stop herself from being her brutally honest self. “I’m sorry, I just really can’t with all those cliché songs. Don’t you get bored of them?”
