You know the saying “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”, that is what I thought I would be saying to myself after deciding to by the Clinic Dark Spot Even Better corrector again. A few years ago I had blogged about it and to tell you the truth it really didn’t work for me and at $65 for a 1 fluid ounce, I was pretty hesitant to try the product again. But, this time around they have changed their formula and added a green tea extract.

After using the lotion twice a day sometimes once a day because I will forget to put it on at night. I get home way too tired and only have enough strength to wash my face and moisturize before hitting my pillow.

I am honestly happy to say that after getting my adult acne under control I decided to try the product again, and this time I saw results!

This is now my face after a month of using the product, staying out of the sun and making sure to use SPF 15 on my face. I am starting to feel a lot more confident as well. Some of the damaged is irreplaceable as my pores are huge, but I can almost feel confident enough to not have to cover my face up with make-up. This time around Clinic has come through with their new formula, and I give it two thumbs up.

It has been a very long time since I visited Universal Studios in Los Angeles. I am in all honesty a big fan of Harry Potter, so when it came down visiting the new mecca for Potter fans I had to make the pilgrimage.

Universal Studios has changed a lot since I was last there, no longer can one see the Conan the Barbarian show or have a picture taken with K.I.T. the car from the 90’s hit TV show Knight Rider. Instead you see recent rides such as, the Minions and Shrek. It wasn’t all that impressed with their rides at Universal, all were in 3-D with big screens and simulator rides. You won’t find anamatronics here or hair raising roller coasters on tracks.

Every where you looked Potter fans were dressed up in Hogwarts school uniforms, some going a bit on the low key and with a lightning bolt on their foreheads. As soon as you walk through that arch way you are immediately taken into the wonderful world of Harry Potter.  I was in my happy place, I loved everything about it. They had all the stores and even the Three Brooms sticks as a mess hall. I highly suggest getting yourself a glass of butter beer, I got mine in a souvenir mug and it was exactly as I picture it would tastes, a bit like butter scotch and simply delicious.

  There was only two rides and one takes you through the castle. The designers went all out with the details, from moving portraits in the hall ways to the fat lady that guards the Griffindor common room. At one point your in potions class, where a hologram of Hermoine, Ron and Harry talk to the guest. The ride was again in 3-D, was fun but went a bit fast. (Recently 3-D has been removed, due to customer complaining of motion sickness).

I made sure to leave with a souvenir I got the most powerful wand in the world. They have an interactive version of wands and you can go around Hogsmead and make objects move and open doors.

The other area I really enjoyed was Springfield, where you step inside The Simpsons world. You can actually go into Moe’s Tavern shoot some pool have a Duff beer and enjoy some Krusty Burgers.

All in all I really did enjoy how much Universal has upped it’s game, with Harry Potter World and The Simpsons land, but it still lacks more rides and the early closing times don’t give you enough time to get around especially when it takes a good 15 minutes to get down to the lower level and each line even for food was over an hour long. I am not all that convinced that it’s the Entertainment Capital of the World, yet.

Winter is coming to Melbourne and so are the Night Markets

Visit the Queen Victoria Night Market for some fun in winter.

The weather has officially shifted, the beaches are now empty and everyone is starting to find ways to stay warm. Seeking a place to relax for the day? Head down to the Peninsula Hot Springs, where they offer a plethora of ways to relax.

It offers a variety of small hot pools with different accessories, such as, a grotto, massage jets, high temperature pools, ice plunge pools, and even a sauna and Turkish bath.

I really like the lay out of the venue. It has a picturesque lake as the main attraction and you can sit in lounge chairs along the banks and just watch ducks swim by and graze. I like that even though the place is family friendly it does restrict children to the bottom half of the of the pools after 10 a.m. So, you don’t have to worry about hearing screaming kids on your day of relaxation.

As you walk up the hill you will find small pools aligned next to a stream that catches the over flow from each pool. I like to close my eyes and hear the stream trickling down as it splashes against the rocks. They have two high temperature pools, the best one is the one right at the top of the hill, which offers an amazing view of the Peninsula.

If your feeling hungry there is a small café where you can grab lunch or if you prefer you can bring your own they have a picnic area.

The Peninsula Hot Springs are open 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. I highly suggest booking a time slot. We went during the week and early in the morning and it started filling up pretty quickly. Price for entry can range from $45 to $25 depending if you go during peak hours or off peak hours. It is a great price for something that is good for you and for a quick trip away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
