do couples have to be close in age or could someone older (but not over 50) whose spouse died remarry someone a little younger?

There is really no minimum or maximum age gap, though the Government attempt to pair couples as close in age as possible, those that are forced to remarry are often paired with someone somewhat younger than them. So yes there can be a gap between the couples in age.

Of course, there is currently a request for an affair like connection in our Wanted Connections if you’d be interested in filling the role, if not feel free to apply for your married pair and then a WC.
