in reference to the previous anon, even in the highly unlikely hypothetical that they pair Maxie with a woman for whatever reason in an upcoming game it doesn't have the kill the ship like polyamorous pairings aren't that uncommon in fandom Maxie can have two hands bisexual people exist it probably wouldn't even kill the ship tbh

Maxie had a lookalike in Legends Arceus so it’s really unlikely he’ll get another in this game. Not impossible by any means but probably not high on their list of characters to give lookalikes to

Yeah that was the other thing I was gonna mention was they already had their cameos. Now ORAS (especially Mauville city) *IS* very connected to Lumiose and Maxie seems to have some ties to Mauville City/Greater Mauville Holdings/Sea Mauville etc but I think if anything it will be a very distant connection and they're more likely to just reference him tangentially more than anything

Funniest Legends AZ outcome is they create a character who looks like they COULD be a combination of Maxie and Archie but also could easily not be and then never elaborate on it.

(sorry to be a downer, but I haven't been able to enjoy the ZA announcements cuz this has been on my mind...curse my shipper brain)

Honestly I haven't been paying that close attention to pokemon news lately BUT i wouldn't let yourself get too afraid. Not only has science in the real world progressed so much that gay men can in fact have biological children, but Pokemon and lots of other Nintendo games have this really silly quirk of like, not wanting to directly confirm people can get married and reproduce, and especially not with who. Like Archie and Maxie's entire relationship, it would only ever be a thing that is teased, more like a weird easter egg than anything, and tbh there is still a LOT more substance for hardenshipping than anything else.

Unless Pokemon Company, in this game, comes out and outright says, or has a cutscene that's like "Hi I'm Maxie formerly of Team Magma and here is my straight wife and my daughter Maxine" I really wouldn't worry about it too much. Because that is NOT going to happen.
