Meet Elsie Kate & Emma Kate Duggar

On Thursday 9th January, Jed and Katey Duggar announced the birth of their twin daughters, Elsie Kate & Emma Kate. The twins were born on Wednesday 8th January. The twins were born eleven days early.

Pregnancy Announcement Jed and Katey announced the pregnancy on 18th July 2024. Katey was on Day 95 of pregnancy at the time. She announced her pregnancy with Truett on Day 41 and her pregnancy with Nora on Day 122 of pregnancy. Her new average is to announce on Day 86 (12 weeks, 2 days) of pregnancy. The couple announced the twins' genders at the same time as the pregnancy announcement. This was different to prior announcements, where they had announced on Day 150, on average.

Effect on the Data The twins were born when Katey was aged 26, meaning their data impacts the 25-30 maternal multiplier rate. It's had a very small impact as the 595 days between Nora's birth and the birth of the twins was very close to the average rate in the 25-30 age bracket. Otherwise, the pregnancy only affects Jed and Katey's ongoing predictive pace.

The couple's average pace for Nora and the twins is 497 days. Taking this and multiplying it by the maternal multiplier, their predicted pace for Baby 5 is 585 days.

What's Next? Taking that 585 day pace for Baby 5, key dates for Jed and Katey's future predictions are:

I sure hope they didn’t vote for the man who goes against many of their values. Mind you, Jessa’s miscarriage was treated with a medical abortion which is now illegal in many states thanks to the man they have just voted for. But Jana does not care about that. Because she, just like all of her siblings and her husband, has been indoctrinated to screech and cry about anyone who does not hold the exact same values as them. She has been taught that anyone who dares to slightly disagree with her is against her.

Jana and her family are one-issue voters. Don’t be like that. Fully study both parties their policies, make a list of things you agree and things you disagree with. Then make an informed decision.

Jason Duggar and Maddie Jones are engaged!

On Friday 30th August 2024, Maddie Jones shared on her new Instagram (maddiegraceduggar) that Jason Duggar proposed to her on 24th August.

Jason and Maddie went Insta official on 29th May 2024. They haven't announced when they first started courting/dating, though I imagine it was before this point!

Early? Late? Etc. Etc. Honestly, it depends when they started dating. The average Duggar courtship to this point (excluding Jana's unknown data) is 141 days long (122 excluding Jessa's extremely long courtship). The engagement happened 87 days after they went Insta official so it depends on how long they had been dating before that point. Anything between 60 and 223 days would be an average courtship length, though, so they are definitely within that range.

The Duggars are a bit all over the place in total pre-engagement relationship length but a relationship of only 90ish days would be very short, even by their standards. This does suggest they were together before late-May unless they're really going against Duggar-typical dating standards.

I had been tentatively predicting an engagement in October if the couple got together literally as the Instagram post went live and in August or September if they had been together before the post, which seemed likely!

Without definite dates, I unfortunately can't do the data on how they have affected average Duggar pre-courtship and courtship lengths.

When Will They Get Married? Now, this is where the couple are clearly not following the Duggar tradition. The average Duggar engagement following Jana's wedding is 91 days long. With an engagement date of 24th August, that would place a wedding on 23rd November 2024.

However, Maddie hashtagged the post with Spring2025 which heavily implies that's when the wedding will happen. Taking spring to mean March, April or May, that means a wedding sometime between 1st March and 31st May. That means an engagement of at least 189 days and at most 280 days. In the Bates family, an engagement of 189 days wouldn't be too out of place, though 280 days is outside even their engagement time frame. However, in the Duggar family, these engagement lengths are unheard of. The longest Duggar engagement to date has been Josiah's 127 day engagement. We're way outside that here!

I honestly have no idea where to place their wedding date. 1st March is a Saturday so it could be right at the start or it could be closer to Easter (Easter Sunday is 20th April next year) or even later than that, especially if the couple are holding off so Maddie can see out the end of the academic year.

Babies? If the couple marry at the beginning of March, they are then expected to announce a first pregnancy in September for a birth the following March. Add or subtract months based on when the wedding actually happens!

Should more information become obvious, I'll update in a separate post. Right now it's all a bit intriguing.

I see a lot of people speculating about it, both here on Tumblr and on Reddit. Speculation ranges from a perceived rift to Jim Bob not wanting Jill to be a bridesmaid.

Miscarriage trigger warning!

I personally would like to point out that not that long ago, Jill lost her baby girl Isla.

She seems absolutely devastated still (and rightfully so). Maybe there’s a rift, or maybe the sisters talked about it and both decided that Jill feels too fragile to have the spotlight on her this soon after having a stillbirth. I think it’s best not to speculate considering the circumstances for Jill.

Before anyone tries “but the spotlight is on the bride!”, yes but also on the bridesmaids. I’ve been one tens of times, there’s a lot of camera’s pointed at you. And usually - for me - the bridesmaids help organise the bachelorette and create decorations for the special day and help make the soon to be shared house a home.

If, as some of you think, Jill should have been a bridesmaid then there would have been a lot of attention on her and certain expectations that she’d help the bride.

Second, she always closes the comments. This also makes her appear unmarketable, because you want to show that you have an active and engaged audience. You can’t just post and go… you have to leave comments open and consistently engage to prove people actually do listen to you and take you seriously. (And no, likes aren’t enough either).

Third, she posts a lot controversial political stuff. Do you know how hard it is for political commentators to get sponsorships, especially if they post things that are controversial? This is a common struggle on social media. Sure, some brands may be willing to work with you… but don’t count on it.

NOTE: The only reason the Duggars get sponsorships despite their controversial opinions is because they are on TV— thus they all have “clickable” names. The Rods aren’t.

So, I wouldn’t worry about it.

P/S, she made it private anyway. Let’s see how long that lasts… 🤣

Latest Events—

Predictor 2021 is here!  This Predictor 2021’s “Next 6 Months” debut.  Throughout this Post, I’ll highlight any changes attributable to the New Predictor.  As a result, the Post might be longer than usual!

Denver Bontrager + Praise Helferich are engaged!  The Bontrager Blog shared the news late yesterday (November 30, 2020).  No information yet on when, exactly, Denver proposed.  (Duggar Data will use November 30, 2020 as an Estimated Engagement Date, for now.  The Bontragers like to announce right away.)  We suspected Denver + Praise were involved, but we didn’t have official confirmation until now.  Under the Bontrager Data, Denver started courting ~899 Days (2.5 Years) and 0.98 SD Early.

Joe + Kendra (Caldwell) Duggar finally, finally did a Sex Reveal (via E! Online) for Duggar–Caldwell #3 on November 30th.  It’s a girl!  Kendra is due in February.  Depending on when in February, exactly, Joe + Kendra were 44–71 Days (1.4–2.2 SDs) Late in revealing the baby’s sex.

Rogers #11, Caris Audrey, was born to Courtney + Christopher Rogers.  Courtney was induced late Friday, and likely delivered on November 28, 2020.  She announced the birth (via Instagram) on November 28.  There were serious complications during delivery.  (See Also.)  As for timing of the birth…  Under the Prior Predictor, the Projected DOB was November 10 (9 Days Early).  Under Predictor 2021, it was November 22nd (3 Days Late), due to the exclusion of Callie and Colt / Case’s early deliveries as outliers.  Predictor 2021’s guess was 6 Days ‘off.’

Jinger (Duggar) + Jeremy Vuolo welcomed their 2nd Child—a second daughter, Evangeline Jo—on November 22, 2020.  They announced the birth (via TODAY Parents) on November 25th.  Both Predictors guessed that Jinger would deliver 1 Day Early on November 18th.  (She was due on November 19th.)  Both Predictors were ‘off’ by 4 Days.

Zach + Whitney (Perkins) Bates announced Pregnancy #4 (via People) on November 24th.  Whitney is due in June 2021.  Duggar Data will use June 16, 2021 as an Approximate Due Date.  Their Announcement was early under both Predictors:  Predictor 2020 expected it in March 2021, while Predictor 2021 expected it in June.  (This shift is again caused by Post–Loss Spacings; with their unusually–short Loss–to–Khloé Spacing removed, Zach + Whitney’s pace shifted from 688 to 788 Days.)

Justin Duggar + Claire Spivey are engaged.  They shared the news (via Us Weekly) on November 16th.  Duggar Data is using November 10th as an Approximate Proposal Date.  Before they announced, both Predictors thought Justin would propose on December 22, 2020—having begun the courtship on May 19, 2020.  But on the Announcement Date, we learned from Claire that they’d started courting much earlier than that.  Based on a new Approximate Courtposal Date of September 16, 2019, Justin was actually ~295 Days (3.1 SDs) Late to propose, by Duggar standards.
