In the leaked list of Sonic characters in Sonic Blitz that one of my friends showed me, unfortunately not among those with confirmed models yet, was including characters like Sally Acorn or Antoine, and here I am flipping out that GOLD THE TENREC is in the list!

Unfortunately Schlemmer didn't seem tk make the cut but still. If Sally might be part of the game, there's a chance we might be able to not only see Gold again, but have her first appearance in an actual game!

The blue Bit seemed to react to being referred to as part of a set and looked startled to see the other three bits crowd around in concern, then hurried over to an empty picture frame to get a look at its reflection and squeaked in surprise.

"Do you think the Genesis Portal energy fried some of its systems?" asked Silver.

"Zat is a possibility. I vill have to run a diagnos-" the professor started to say before he realized what the Bit was now doing. "HEY! No! Zat vas just cleaned!"

Sonic, Tails, and Silver looked back at the bit to see it had snatched a tube of gold paint off the shelf and was squeezing a glob of the stuff onto a paintbrush. Then, before anyone could stop it, it quickly spread the paint across its face, resulting in the gold now framing its eyes, and three long stripes extending up its forehead to the tip of its quills.

The Bit then looked back up at them all defiantly, as if daring them to say something.

The professor and fox didn't have a clue as to what was going on, but Sonic and Silver were stunned at the sight of the familiar markings.

"Wait-!" Sonic said, his eyes wide.

"SHARD!" gasped Silver in amazement. "Is that you in there?"

The Bit's eyes faded from red to green, and let out a beep that the Professor didn't even need to translate, but did so anyway, "It… He… says ya."

This is art for my fic, Sea Glass in my Lost in the Waves series. In it, Shard the Metal Sonic returns Post Second Genesis Wave in the body of one of Professor Von Schlemmer's Bits. I really like that one.

"Psych Family" AU: Full Guide!

During my break from writing Wish Granted, I stumbled upon a pretty obscure Sonic Universe story focusing on Silver the Hedgehog. It was called "The Silver Age" and was supposed to set up a spin off series for Silver and a new team for him having dimensional adventures. It was sadly cancelled, but it ended up inspiring me!

The basic story is that this AU gives Silver a different origin. Instead of being born in the apocalyptic future, he's born into the dystopian one from the Archie comic. Professor Von Schlemmer detects some powerful energy near his lab, and when he goes to investigate, he finds Silver as a baby hedgehog. (In all places, sleeping in an abandoned dryer) At first he wants to study him for his psychokinesis, but he eventually grows so attached that he raises him as his son. (Basically, Silver Von Schlemmer) He even makes him a little lab coat similar to his when he gets older and its pretty cute.

No matter what the Council or what other citizens say, Silver and Gold are Von Schlemmer's kids, and he's proud to be their father. Even if he can be embarrassing. 😂

This AU will just have mini stories and artwork, there isn't really a grand story or arc. Its really just to do and add in for fun!

Professor Von Schlemmer still retains his personality from the comic, with the addition of him becoming more fatherly to Silver. He's still very eccentric, intelligent and means well, but he can't read can't a room to save his life. Because he's raised Silver from the time he was just a cub, he gets nervous whenever he travels to the past or other dimensions. The hedgehog gets hurt, but still comes out okay (mostly). But he's a tough kid, its just that the professor still sees him as little hedgehog he found sometimes. So when the time finally comes to fight Infinite and the Council, he knows Silver can handle it.

Von Schlemmer teaches Silver and Gold everything he knows about science, quantum physics, math, ect. He wants to pass on his knowledge to him and Gold in case anything happened to him and the two can still use his knowledge. Gold struggles A LOT, and would rather do more fun hobbies like reading fiction or novels. Silver however does take more interest in studying, he just gets overwhelmed with information sometimes, but he grasps or most of it.

As for the psychokinesis, the professor both studies and trains Silver's powers as he grows. He and ze bits even create Silver's inhibitors when he realizes that using a lot of energy that ends up wearing Silver out.

He also helps Gold with her telepathy, but its a bit harder to control sometimes. She even ends up reading Silver's mind unintentionally. Gold can eventually learn to read other minds, which becomes very useful during missions!

Gold is actually found a few years after Silver, and the two of then ended up being raised as siblings together. Gold is technically older than Silver, so she has more of an older teenage personality when they're at home. They might fight a little bit now and then, but they still care about each other in the end. Though Gold sometimes wonders if the professor treats Silver as his favorite. (He loves them both, he just found Silver first and it can come off at times like that.

Ze bits are still lovable assistants and like a triplet siblings. At first they don't seem all that thrilled with Silver, but grow to love him and Gold as time goes on! They all end up being siblings and it very wholesome. While they can't speak, they're great at solving problems and puzzles that stump Von Schlemmer. They also are pretty good at cleaning up messes and making repairs after an invention or experiment blows up. 😂

Now for the (sort of) story: Just like the comic, the main goal is to stop the Council from causing the end of the world by getting monsters and creatures to control from other dimensions. Gold has visions that Onyx City and the world will end if the City Council succeeds, so many big adventures feature dimension hopping. While Silver's solo ones are traveling back to the past to see if something from there causes the end of the world. And from time to time, he helps Sonic and the others, making new friends. It turns out its Infinite the Jackal, which leads to some major battles.

Don't worry, its still a fun AU, but there will be a few times when things can heavy when comes to saving the world, so Silver gets a but more serious as time goes on, getting closer to his '06 personality, with a little bit of Von Schlemmer influencing his humor and fun side.

As for meeting Blaze, Silver is pulled into the Sol dimension by a monster, where he spends about a month there attempting to keep it from entering other dimensions or time. This is how he meets Blaze in this AU, and they end up working together a lot to defeat monsters and other threats to her kingdom. During his extended stay, Silver gains a little more of 06' personality when it comes to fighting and he gets a bit more serious. He's still kind hearted and can have fun, but he's matured a little more.

They start to develop feelings for each other during this time, so when Silver returns to his dimension/time, they usually make excuses to visit each other. While Blaze is interested in meeting with Silver's family, Silver's kind of nervous since they can be embarrassing...😅 (She doesn't seem to mind though) Silver does meet Blaze's family, but they're not as welcoming towards him, lol. That doesn't stop Blaze from dating him...

As the two of them get older they tend to go on secret dates, and eventually get married. Silver does eventually go to live with Blaze, but always visits the professor and Gold a lot, just like they visit Sonic and the rest of the gang. And when they have children, Von Schlemmer is overjoyed and emotional to become a granddad! 😂

(I'm a huge Silvaze shipper since childhood, so I had to write this in)

And in case you're wondering, yes this does still connect to the regular Sonic universe! I'm just sort of reworking things so it'll make sense. This is also inspired by the huge theme of found family in the Sonic movies. The team behind the movies stated they're planning to use Silver for something big. Either showing up in Sonic 4 or his own movie. And since most of these characters end up with a human, I'd love to see them adapt Von Schlemmer and team psych as his family.

There will be more sketches of this AU and mini drafts, I'm still writing my Wish AU as well, I'm just struggling to finish due to lack of downtime. But I promise to work on this too when I have the time!
